Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

GORGEOUS balcony views and quiet at night. La Vista was a phenomenal restaurant right next door. Very close to the train station and ferry. We wish we could’ve stayed here longer because the bed was so comfortable too. Shower head was great, and we even washed and hang dried our clothes here

Cute little house with ample space and the best views!

We loved the location! It was a cute little house with some property on the back to relax in the shade (or sun, as it had a couple levels), and was spacious, but the front had the balcony with the perfect view, just above the water. Although we really didn't cook there (as there were some great restaurants just around the corner), it seemed to be equipped. We loved waking up in the morning and having a coffee on the balcony--didn't sit in the living room (which the 'sofa' was really a trundle bed). The shower is really funky--lights, music, and a ton of water! Parking was a short walk to a large parkade, which had plenty of parking. Varenna is easy to manoeuvre and get to other places via the ferry. Loved this place!

Robyhouse - Varenna We arrived at the house gate at 2:45pm but were informed very smartly that our accommodation was for 3:00pm entry. We entered the house at 2:56pm. The house was not cleaned - bed not made, towels on bathroom floor and rubbish in kitchen. We called the owner to inform him. He was apologetic - the boot was now on the other foot. The cleaners arrived at 3:30pm and departed at 4:20pm. We just waited for the apartment to be ready. We found there was no coffee, tea, sugar etc. interesting as most accommodations have these basic supplies. It was very hot, so we turned the air-conditioners on. There was only one remote for bedroom and other room. The ACs blew air but certainly no cool air. We experienced a very warm night. I text the owner to inform him of this. A text was sent in reply to suggest he would get back to us during business hours. He did, but we were out exploring. We needed to turn the electricity off, wait and then turn back on. Fortunately, the ACs started to function. One positive - great location.

Absolutely everything, the location the facilities, everything was 10/10. 100% recommend this to everyone. Absolutely stunning. So tidy, clean and spacious with the best view. Lovely shower facilities and spotless kitchen.

Awesome waterfront balcony and location along Lake Como

We had a great stay at the Robyhouse Varenna. The waterfront view balcony was perfect and the location was impeccable for walking around Varenna or going to the train or ferry. The bedroom and other rooms were comfortable enough for our short stay in town.

We weren't able to figure out the air conditioning (maybe too early in the season to turn it on) and the shower was a little quirky (instructions could've been useful for the various buttons/jets), however we have a nice stay here overall and would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic location and view

The location of the apartment could not have been more perfect. It is close to the ferry stop and all the lake side eateries. It has recently been renovated and it is really beautiful.

According to the description there is a television, but there isn’t one. Not a big deal, but just be aware of this.

We loved the location and presentation of our apartment. The apartment is very comfortable, spacious and appealing in decor. The hosts were easy to communicate with and obliging.

The shower was complicated to use. We succeeded in getting hot water on the first night with a little luck but not on the second night. It was too late in the evening to communicate this with our host so we didn’t get our shower that night. Written instructions for the use of the shower and use of washing machine would have helped. Availability of another warmer blanket for the bed needed as the one on the bed was too thin for me at this time of year.

Great location. Beautiful views. Everything you need!

Robyhouse is very central. It is not far from the train station and we walked to the apartment which is located in a pedestrian area. The apartment is well equipped with all you need to make the stay comfortable. Beautiful views from the veranda. I spent a lot of time watching the lake and all the boats and ferries going by.

I walk with a crutch and there are many stairs in Varenna. My mistake, I should have done my homework better. Come fit!

Disappointing and in need of work

Location is fantastic, right on the lakefront, close to bars and restaurants, short walk to train station and ferry terminal. Wonderful view from the balcony.

The apartment is really run down, with evidence of severe damp on the walls, paint peeling. The apartment also looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time as it was filthy. Shower was broken (we were advised it was new by the owners). Taped up with plastic and really dangerous for our toddler to use. Nowhere to hang towels, no toilet roll holder. The aircon packed up with 2 days remaining of our trip and we contacted the owners who told us to turn it down! The towels on arrival were damp smelling and musty so we washed these straight away. We entered the lounge area and the skirting boards were hanging off. Real shame, as the location is great but the place needs some TLC and needs work doing before renting out to holidaymakers. Wouldn't recommend especially at the prices being charged.

The view from the balcony is absolutely amazing! the appartment looked smaller in the photos. we have travelled with a toddler and was really confortable.

Lovely house with modern interior, overlooking the lake. Secure. Private gate access. Fantastic view from balcony. Efficient air-conditioning in both bedrooms. Double beds both rooms (one is sofa bed). Lots of power points. Location excellent.15 minute walk from train station. 8 minute walk to ferry. Steep steps beside house lead directly down onto Lovers walk and lakeside promenade with restaurants and bars.

Liked everything but should mention the property not wheelchair accessible. Steps down to hall door from inside the gate.

Wish we’d been staying longer!

Obviously it’s all about the location! However the apartment had everything you needed and we appreciated the little things like olive oil and tea/coffee provided. Also the washing machine was useful as we were travelling light. Due to issues with the trains we gratefully accepted the offer of a transfer from a nearby town which got us to that wonderful balcony view all the quicker! Thanks so much Vittorio!

enjoyed being in a wonderful property in a prime location

fantastic location, immaculately clean, well equipped and Comfortable. Bed is very comfortable, nice to have washing machine, love the balcony overlooking the lake. easy check in, convenient to everything…ferry, train station walkable, small grocery store, fancy grocery store with fresh meats just off the main piazza. Many restaurants and bars very close by. these are all reasons why we have returned to this property for many years.

seems to me a small amount of maintenance on the rear garden where you enter would enhance the property.

Beautiful view, but not cleaned after other guests

Good location and the view from the balcony. Apartment has dishwasher and washing machine.

Very untidy apartments. I am not sure anyone cleaned anything after earlier guests, except changing the towels. I hope that it has been changed... :) Shower has been definitely not cleaned (even a used empty bottles of shampoo have been left) and clogged: the same moment you start water you are already standing in the puddle up to your feets. The floor and carpet have been covered in crummbles. I can not say it definitely... But after a night spent there me both with husband had a lot of bites all other the body. I hope it was some kind of mosquito outside. But I am not sure...

Worth the distance traveled. Our whole world was better waking up to this view.

From the moment we met with the property representative to the time we checked out, everything was taken care of. We had to figure out a couple of things on our own, but we consider ourselves lucky to find this property with stunning views morning, noon and night. Bonus feature: Easy, beautiful walk to ferry boats.

Brilliant Apartment

- Unbelievable location, the view from the balcony was just insane. - Nearby to the main attractions, restaurants and facilities in Varenna - Responsive and helpful host before and during our stay. - Apartment was large, clean and had useful facilities

- The A/C units weren't the best and didn't always work...but luckily the apartment stayed fairly cool despite the heat

An honest review. MUST read before booking here.

The view is stunning, and the property is well-positioned in Varenna. Very basic but is a self-equipped with facilities.

The cleanliness was very poor. Specifically, the sheets and bedding were dirty with old blood stains, male and female hair, and crumbs. Upon notification, the owners provide new sheets but did not change them. I needed to do it. It was disgusting, unhygienic, and inappropriate to expect me to change someone else's dirty sheets. I also waited a long time for them to arrive with the new sheets, which was during dinner time, and they just left them outside, with no offer to change them. This was time wasted during my short stay. By the the I went out for food, the nicer restaurant's kitchens were shut, and I had to wait for 30mins to get a table, not eating until after 10pm. After travelling 5 hours to get to Varenna earlier that day, it was VERY disappointing and this whole experience runined my stay. The property is also very hot. What there is air-con, it is only in two of the rooms. The property was HOT and uncomfortable. In general it was very basic and bare. Which would have been fine, but the lack of cleanliness and ineffective air-con made me not want to stay there. Further, whilst there are adequate cooking facilities, there are no shops easily accessible to purchase provisions.

The location and view were great, but the cleanliness was bad.

The view from the balcony is tremendous, and the property is well located along a quaint cobblestone pathway with restaurants. For the price, this was a pleasant surprise.

The kitchen was crawling with ants from the moment we arrived. There was an open bag of sugar in the cabinets that had ants streaming in and out, so we tossed this out outside and tried to kill the ants the best we could. Later, the ants were swarming the garbage can, which forced us to also move that outside. Later, despite removing these two items, ants were still coming in and out of the apartment through a vent low on the wall. In the bathroom, the shower drain was so clogged with hair that the bottom of the shower would fill up with water after just a few moments (with the water not even running at full pressure) and spill out, flooding the bathroom floor.
