Beautiful Apartment

A beautiful, spacious apartment with a large bed and very affordable in regards to the area, the owner is very helpful and very responsive. Perfect view of the lake from the window, great for couples, we enjoyed it very much each morning upon waking up. Also walking distance (2 mins) to the restaurants, gelaterias and the ferry boat of the area.

We found Varenna to be quite beautiful but also stressful and difficult to navigate

The apartment was clean and well located

The property was easy enough to find but due to unexpected traffic diversions the car park was quite difficult to get to . We collected the car park pass from a locked box and dropped our bags inside the door while we tried to find the car park. Neighbours in the street were quite nasty , obviously didn’t like tourists. We were literally stopped for 2 minutes while we dropped our bags and one neighbour was threatening to call the police. Each day we saw another of the neighbours abusing drivers who inadvertently were going the wrong way down the street because of the difficulty with road diversions. I think it would have been helpful if we could have been met at the property as most of the hosts we’ve had have done.

Absolutely loved this accommodation, felt sooo homey and had everything we could possibly need. Was the BEST location too, the view from our room was so beautiful. Honestly 10/10 stay it was so so so so so lovely. We’re 100% coming back.

Great location

The location is great, not too far from the train station and the town center. Lots of restaurants near by and close to the lake.

I reserved 2 apartments: it would have been nice to know beforehand that they were in 2 separate buildings. I think the cost was too much.

Enjoyable stay in Varenna

Host was responsive and helpful. Property was clean and conveniently located. Everything worked well in the room and we had a pleasant stay.

The towels were clean but looked a bit old.

Exceptional

The room was very clean, spacious, and made you feel right at home – very cozy and welcoming. The host was extremely responsive and helpful, always available to answer our questions. The location was perfect, very central and close to everything.

The only suggestion I would make is to consider adding blinds to the windows for better privacy and light control. Other than that, everything was great!

Great place in the best town in the area

Excellent location. Easy walk to local amenities and ferry port. Room comfortable and spacious with good size bathroom. Everything we needed for short stay

Check in time could do with being earlier. 3pm is late. We actually arrived 2:30 and room not ready.

Serviceable but charmless apartment in good location.

The location is convenient-though it is a small town so most locations are convenient. The apartment had all necessary appliances and other items for a stay.

The apartment had the bare minimum of furnishings and was austere. Although the view of the lake is nice, it is not an apartment where one would enjoy spending time, as there are no comfortable seats, no decorations (besides random Ikea prints on the walls, like the Eiffel Tower), or any attempt to make the space warm and welcoming.

The property was comfortable and roomy. It was well equipped. We especially appreciated having a washer to use during our 9 day stay. Having an elevator was wonderful as the property is up several flights of stairs. We didn’t need the AC, because there was good air flow with the windows open. Val was great at answering questions.

The room was spacious, clean and we loved the location. We typically stay in hotel rooms, so it was an extra treat having a kitchen table and DLL the space in the closet/cupboard. Check in was easy, parking close and a convenient location.

Location is everything here. Plenty of room. Gorgeous mountain and water views. Easy check in .

The water was barely warm for the shower. I struggled to stay in there and could not shave my legs I was too cold. Wasn’t comfortable leaving our luggage under a porch to store so we paid 30 euros at the train station to store.

Perfect stay in Varenna

The apartment was clean, spacious, had a very good heating systems and the bathroom was big. The main window had the view over the lake, which was a great surprise. ✨️ The location was in the heart of Varenna, and at the entrance of the building is a very good pizza place for takeaway. We really enjoyed our stay there.

They could offer some coffee and tea, given that there was a coffee machine in the apartment.

NOT worth the money.

Convenient location close to main square & ferries port. Our flat had windows with lake view.

Broken shower head and water temperature flactuating up and down, making shower uncomfortable. Owner knew both of the above weeks ahead, but did not fix, since several previous reviews in booking.com mention them. Not very clean bathroom. Needs upgrading. No mirror in the rooms. No curtain on the lake view bedroom window. Sun enters early in the morning and in summer the window becomes very hot. Sun goes directly on the bed and it is not comfortable. Loud noice from cars is coming from the street window, which is a very old window and therefore not soundproof. Very expensive 2 bedroom flat for what it offers. Luggage storage was at a fee. In other prime/central locations in Como city and Bellagio, which are more luxurious and popular destinations, we paid less money for each night during the same week at 4* hotels, had brand new rooms & bathrooms, a lot of facilities, 24hr reception, bicycles & luxury toiletries & daily water bottles for free, breakfast and other in-room services vs Varennahouse flat. Must mention that Varenna house has only 1 bathroom in each flat. Our booking via booking.com was for a deluxe 2 bathroom flat, but it does not exist. The description in booking.com is wrong & misleading and it has not yet been amended by the owner, even though i send this info to the booking.com assistant.
