The location was perfect for getting around Varenna. It was an easy walk to the train station, the ferry, the lake front, and the Villa Monastero. Plenty of restaurant options were nearby. It's a small village to most things are close but Varennahouse was literally a stone's throw from the main square. Also, the host communicated the details of check-in very well beforehand in a friendly and efficient manner.
The bed was a little small for those of us used to a king size. Not a deal-breaker for a night or two but it would be difficult for a long stay for two adults. We expect it when traveling in Europe, and not staying at an international hotel chain, but it's worth a mention for those who may not be used to these things.

Central location about 10 mins from the station. Vittoria was good at keeping you informed via WhatsApp as it was self check in. She provided detailed instructions for every aspect of the accommodation and how to get there. Plenty of space and close to bars and restaurants.
Only one air conditioning unit which was brilliant, but didn’t fully reach the bedroom, so quite hot during the heat wave.

Good location, nice appt
Could hear everyone in the flats above and below, no coffee or tea (every other appt did) hot water lasted 2 minutes.
