Besides the steps and only one shower the apartment was in a great location and well appointed with everything you need

Modern, clean, location was perfect! Facilities in kitchen were sufficient! Washing machine! Book provided instructions for various appliances etc!

It is on the 2nd floor with no lift! We had to get our luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs with no help! After a full day of touring climbing 2 flights was hard at our age (60s) Only one bathroom has a shower so we had to share the one shower. Not preferred which is why we sought 2 bathrooms. Both of these were not disclosed properly in ad on booking.com site.

The location of the flat is perfect.

The location in Varenna is excellent.

We are three older people, two over seventy. The flat was two flights up with no lift. Very difficult with suitcases. This should have been mentioned in the information.

It was in a good position in Varenna. Even though the flat was small it seemed spacious. Seemed to have everything we needed for our stay.

Shower does not drain properly so it tended to overflow. Think this was the only issue which is easy to sort out

This property was perfect for our family. It was spacious, the location was amazing and the host was very friendly. Property and linens were also very clean. The kids loved having the loft area to lounge.

If I had to say something I'd just note that there is not a lift and the property is a few floors up. Wasn't an issue for us though. Also, the shower is pretty small. Again, not an issue for us.

Very Nice Apartment in Perfect Location!

There was a lot to like with this apartment. The location was perfect. We had two little balconies, of which one had a view of the lake. It was very convenient to have 1.5 bathrooms so our adult daughter had her own. There was a large amount of closet space which was wonderful since we were there for six days. They provided us with plenty of towels. At our request they came and showed us how to use the wash machine. There is no dryer but there is a laundromat just steps away so we dried our clothes there. Very good price for the large dryer. They also came by with laundry detergent and an information booklet which was helpful. The kitchen was adequate. A few more glasses would be nice and we needed a couple more cereal bowls since we cooked and fixed our own breakfast every day. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. We loved the big pillows.

The sofa and ottoman definitely need replacing. The sofa was quite uncomfortable. A coat rack or hooks and rug by the door would have been helpful for wet shoes and coats since it was raining quite a bit while we were there. Important: This apartment is on the top floor so there are a lot of stairs and no elevator so not suitable for those with mobility problems. Getting and returning the key does involve using a taxi especially with luggage if you come by train since you are required to stop at their office.

The perfect apartment in the best location!

The apartment is centrally located just off Piazza San Giorgio. This location we thought was just perfect and a short walk to the lake, restaurants and shops. Bear in mind that being close to Piazza San Giorgio there will be noise from nearby restaurants at night especially during the warmer months. This didn't bother us at all, in fact we loved it, and on one of the nights during our stay we sat on the balcony with a glass of wine listening to a band playing in the Piazza. The Sweet Square Flat is clean, spacious and so well appointed. We were there during the summer and the air-conditioning was a godsend. Overall, I highly recommend The Sweet Square Flat and would definitely stay there again if visiting Varenna.

Beautiful sunny top floor flat is perfect for 4 people

Excellent location right on town square. Cafes nearby and stairs just outside apartment lead right to lake. It was compact, clean and modern and great for our family of 4. One daughter slept on pullout couch bed and it was extremely comfortable. It’s on top floor of 6-apartment block so several flights of stairs. A/c worked great. There were 2 bathrooms and 1 shower and it was a great shower with good pressure and hot water.

Sloped ceiling in kitchen/lounge room means tall people need to be careful when accessing cupboards.

Positive side: the apartment was in the center of the city, you can see the lake from the window of one bedroom. The price was ok.

There were no cleaning products: washing-up liquid, toilet paper. The apartment was not cleaned properly. Shower cubicle didn't work well, water was leaking onto the floor

Superb

Great location in the main square (Piazza St Giorgio). Quiet, peaceful but 2 minutes walk from lakeside. Apartment well furnished, decorated with good equipment. Restaurants and bars on the square friendly and very good. Great croissants for breakfast at local shop one minute away.

Confusion about key collection - we had been told to meet at apartment but had to go to office to collect (only one minute walk) TV didn’t work (battery in remote out of juice and not easy to buy batteries in Varenna. Flat is in traffic restricted zone. Host could have made clear the hours when access to load/unload luggage is allowed.

Little Slice of Heaven

Location was amazing, central to the town square and just at the top of the stairs to lots of waterfront restaurants. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The unit has everything you need for a family to stay for a holiday (we stayed for 5 nights and loved it).

The shower has a serious leak, and the bathroom floor floods after a short shower, however the bathroom itself is lovely
