Stunning cottage overlooking the Lake. Bedroom and Dining Room had fabulous views . Steeped in history and items from the owners made the interior very interesting. Easy parking , surroundings were beautiful with easy access to lakeside.

Location is amazing and the hosts were exceptional! We loved our walks and the ferry to Bowness can be reached via a lovely 5k walk along the lake, which we highly recommend. The view from the room was beautiful and from the breakfast room was breathtaking. The cottage is filled with charm and I can’t recommend it enough. Breakfast spreads were great quality local produce and very tasty.
Almost nothing! The only minor note we had was that while rooms got plenty warm before bed, they got a little cold overnight when the heating went off. It is an old house, in winter, during a cold snap, so it was incredibly understandable. There were plenty of blankets and the duvet was lovely and cosy so for us it wasn’t at all an issue. If you are incredibly sensitive to cold, maybe plan to go when low temps are above freezing. Breakfast for us was also reasonably early at 8.30, so if you are someone who tends to lie in late, that could be something to consider.

The breakfast was outstanding, the local bacon a highlight. Chris and Liz could not have done more to accommodate us, I look forward to our next stay with them!

Great hosts, friendly and very knowledgeable of local area. Breakfast freshly made each day. Good variety. Outstanding views of lake Windermere. Quiet location.
Sink in bathroom a bit small.
