The setting is beautiful and the staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was really lovely
There was a good amount of parking space, but we did struggle to park when we returned from a day out

It’s just unbelievable. Comfort everywhere, the welcome from the manager who showed us our incredible room. The property is so beautiful. Every chair is comfortable, it’s that kind of place.

Breakfast was good; you fill out a form the day before to choose your breakfast, and when you arrive at the dining room in the morning, it's prepared and served fresh. We had dinner out in Hawkshead, a half-hour walk away, as we needed supplies for the return journey. Wine and cheese by the fireplace was a lovely idea. It's close to hiking routes, with many destinations accessible by foot or bike. When we were late for check-out after our morning Tarn Hows bike tour, they didn't cause any problems; it's a hospitable and friendly place. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place.
I don't know because we only stayed one night, but I do know we should have stayed longer.

Location, dining rooms were impressive and breakfast delicious
The bedroom was a standard double room but was tiny and musty and not very comfortable. The dining room/ lounge were comfortable but no encouragement to use during the day, no fires lit of a wet and cold day
