Beautiful location, very friendly owners, excellent vegan or vegetarian breakfast. All around outstanding. Electric car charging available, free parking. Hundreds of beautiful hikes in the greater Lake District area.
There are two great vegetarian restaurants (same owners) in town, with a cinema even.

It was a dream experience, staying in a manor with all the comfort of a hotel, and also feeling like home in the common spaces. Daisy was so kind and welcoming. We went for a walk from the location. Vegetarian menu was a delight

Beautiful room, good food, clean, stunning location
On my own at night, walking to the cottage where my room was. No staff around at night. I got back at 8.30 so not so late. A windy 15 minute drive from Ambleside.

Wonderful breakfast both buffet and cooked food.
Tbe caring people who look after Yewfield and make it special.
The grounds that are nutrured in line with nature's harmony.
Comfortable bed and armchairs downstairs and accessibility to borrow the books.
A real fire to sit in front of and contemplate.
The shower tray needed attention and cleaning, but this was reported and will be attended to by the lovely staff.

Lovely vegetarian guest house set in beautiful gardens close to local walks and places of interest. Greeted by a lovely lady called Linda on arrival who was very welcoming. The single en-suite room in Rose How Cottage was beautiful and clean, just as described on booking. Super drinks making facilities with lovely selection of teas and coffee and fresh drinking water. Veggie breakfast was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely consider booking another stay in the future.

Yewfield is truly a gem. Beautiful old buildings, so thoughtfully maintained and decorated; the room and bed were very comfortable with a view onto the vegetable garden; breakfast was amazing; the vegetarian dinner was divine; the gardens were gorgeous. And last but not least, the staff were wonderful! The walks in the area are a joy as well. So glad we found this place!
I really can't think of anything! My partner even got to play the Steinway... so... no complaints here!

Elegant house - almost a stately home, superbly furnished, set in beautiful gardens. Rooms equally impressive. Excellent beds, tasteful furniture, good bath/shower. Wonderful breakfast -: vegetarian of course, which we are not, but surprisingly tasty. Quite a remote location so very quiet and peaceful. No dinner but 2 good pubs with food within 15 minutes drive
No pubs or restaurants within short walking distance

Lovely bed and room with a view. Good location near coniston and tarn hows.
Staff were friendly and the breakfast amazing.
There was a car charger also. We forgot our cable though.
It was listed on booking as near little langdale. It’s now where near really.
Also they don’t clean the room or make the bed unless you put a sign to do so. Usually it’s the opposite. So watch that.

A sensational breakfast! Lovely communal space and really peaceful setting.
I didn’t realise they do evening food two nights a week- I’m really keen to return on a weekend to be able to stay for dinner.

Beautiful natural setting. Compliments to the chef on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th of June, tasty vegetarian dishes. Really enjoyed our 3 courses. A lovely guesthouse with staff who are very polite and helpful.
Nothing. Not sure what happens for meals on the other nights of the week. Yewfield is a 4 miles from Ambleside.

Beautiful grounds to walk around. The breakfast was amazing (the scrambled tofu was the best I've ever had!). I felt very welcome throughout the stay. The room was clean, with coffee, tea, and plant based milks available, as well as a lovely homemade vegan flapjack. We had a lovely balcony, which was an amazing little addition to our room.

Beautiful, cosy and charming guest house with so much character. Great location. The owner and staff were so lovely and welcoming. Derek accommodated our early arrival and was able to get us in one of the rooms that was ready, which we were so grateful for. We really enjoyed the delicious vegetarian breakfast and incredible customer service. We will definitely be back, as we loved every moment there and did not want to leave!
One minor thing was that there was no A/C in the rooms which we managed with opening the window during the day but meant that it was a bit warm overnight (although temperatures were tolerable in April).

Yewfield was the perfect stay for an Easter weekend away. The location and the guesthouse itself totally exceeded our expectations - breakfast was lovely, the grounds and accompanying mini-woodland are amazing for a walk around, and we got to take advantage of the Easter weekend dinner, which was delicious and pretty inexpensive (£34 for three courses, when in Hawkshead a lot of the mains almost came to that much). There's a stunning reception and breakfast room with a massive log burner, which was very cosy to hang out in.
The wifi was a bit patchy at times in our room, otherwise nothing was wrong!

We loved Yewfield Vegetarian Guest House. Stunning location and such a variety of food to eat at breakfast time. We fell asleep to the sound of a tawny owl outside our window.

Breakfast was delicious, the staff were nice and the garden seating area was lovely.
The room which we were originally shown to was on a lower ground level and smelt damp and was also quite dark. The main issue here is that it didn't match the pictures which are on Booking.com. When you book a standard king room and the photographs show an enormous light filled room with wooden panelling and a dressing table that is what you expect. As it turned out the photograph of the room we got shows only a chair, single wardrobe and chest of drawers, I have attached photographs of the room. The room we were shown to simply didn't meet my expectations in any way and was definitely not worth the price we paid. It was worse than the double room shown in the pictures, which is cheaper. It wasn't even in the main hotel!
The shower in the original room was not working and so they reluctantly moved us to a different room. This one turned out to be a lovely light filled room in the hotel with a 4 poster bed.
I told them how disappointed I was with our first room on check out and that I felt lucky that the shower was broken, they simply stated that the room is a 'kingsize' due to the size of the bed and that the shower was now fixed.
The hotel itself is in a good location generally but there isn't the option of walking anywhere in the evening for a drink or dinner, you would have to drive.

I liked everything about Yewfield Vegetarian Guesthouse. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Derek went the extra mile to accommodate my son at the last minute. The room was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and wholesome. Best dinner I've had in a long time. We could do our own washing which was a bonus I did not expect. There were lovely walks from the front door. Peaceful. An olde worlde establishment which one does not encounter often. We spent 5 nights there. Thank you to all the staff - Linda, Emma, Janka and Magdalena. You were fantastic :)
