Location is excellent . Property is decorated to a high standard and the greeting from the reception staff was welcoming .

For older people or those with heavy cases if you are situated on the top floor the absence of a lift is a bit of a disadvantage

The building is ideal and easy to live in. The garden is superb, both in construction and maintenance; it was a delight to sit out in. In spite of problems (see below), we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

They just did not cater for vegetarians! As Booking.com knows, I visit a lot of hotels, and this was the first ever to have no vegetarian breakfast on the menu. They only provided some vegeytarian sausages for our second breakfast, as they had none for our first one. We didn't dine there, as the menus were uninteresting for vegetarians. I suspect that the chef has had no vegetarian catering training. It was difficult to obtain a good coffee in the late evening. The coffee machines provided either failed to work, or they produced foul coffee. The bar's coffee machine closed down early. Finally, on Sunday evening our keys failed to let us in the front door,
