Everything about the property was wonderful from the location to the friendliness of the Housekeeper. Just awesome.
If anything at all, a few too many artefacts in the room.

Characterful property, with individual styling in every room. Will make for a memorable experience. Beautiful, peaceful garden that you can see from the breakfast room and some bedrooms. Breakfast is unmissable! I appreciated the care and attention that went into every course and it was delicious and filling :) The host Lydia was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
The type of mattress was a little hot for me (I prefer wool) but this is very much a personal preference. The room and bed was comfortable otherwise.

We stayed in the Angelsuite. The room was spacious and incredibly stylish. Highly recommended

Beautiful room with antique furniture, nice and warm, and bathroom with nice bathtub. The breakfast is absolutely phenomenal and worth everything you pay for it. I wanted to stay longer. Lydia also took time in the morning to show me the living room and the garden, and talk to me about her passion of art and antiques. She is a very friendly and beautiful person, and is always available for issues or questions.
I had the unfortunate case of a couple in a room downstairs that were very loud during the night. I had to go downstairs and ask them to quiet down. So the place is not really sound proof. But there is no noise from the outside, and I was aware it was just a little bit of bad luck for me.

Exceptional accommodation decorating with great taste and attention to detail.
Warm welcome. You felt at home immediately.
If you like the out of the ordinary this is your place to stay in Antwerpen.
It’s very calm too.
Make sure not to miss the fabulous breakfast. You can taste and feel the passion and love for the job.
I already recommended this B&B to my friends in Luxembourg.

Our room was very large with an additional sitting room. The antiques and treasures from adventures, in all the rooms, were clues to very interesting hosts. Lydia was a warm, generous, hostess and also an excellent cook, who had an array of special delicacies spread out for us. It was great to be spoiled with so many thoughtful considerations during our stay.

The apartment has plenty of room with a very large bathroom. The shower is very nice as well. Tub is nice to soak your sore legs if you have been walking all day. The bed is very comfortable. Despite being on a busy street, it was not too loud. Lydia is very nice and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
It would be nice if the TV was on a wall mount to allow viewing from the bed.

Stunning old townhouse in a cool neighborhood - our room was beautifully decorated and had very interesting artifacts and antiques that went with the African themed decor.
Our hostess was so lovely and helpful and the breakfast was out of this world - a great stay !

Sometimes you stumble on beauty and love in the most unexpected places. Visiting Lydia and her B&B was one of those moments. We stayed in the Angel Suite, and it was far beyond what the photos showed. The space, the hidden room, the garden outside, every detail was perfect. The room was spotless, and the bathroom was stunning.
Lydia was kind when we met her, but at breakfast we discovered how special she truly is. Conversation with her felt natural and warm, something we didn’t know we needed.
And the breakfast itself was unforgettable. The room filled with art and vintage treasures set the tone, and the food was the best I have ever had. Lydia makes everything herself, using family recipes and produce from their country home. The homemade jam was incredible, and course after course kept arriving. If you are offered in-room breakfast, say no and enjoy it in the living room.
We loved every moment. Lydia and her B&B capture the heart of Antwerp, a true diamond with soul & heart.

A hidden gem in Antwerp!
The suite was beautiful and we loved the history of the monumental house with its antique furniture.
The hostess was very friendly and considerate. It felt like coming home.

Old town house with characterful rooms, tastefully decorated. Very convenient for the KMSKA (the fine arts museum) and a pleasant walk into the historic centre of the city. Easy access to the tram network for journeys further afield or if you're tired. Fantastic breakfast and friendly and helpful owners.
Our room was up several flights of stairs and there's no lift. We didn't have a problem with this but you should be aware of this if you are unable to manage stairs easily.

It took me longer than I expected to write a review about Au Lit Jerome, because I needed to find the right words to describe my experience and give it the credit it was due.
Some hotels are meant to spoil you in a way that cocoons you against the rest of the city. Like your own little spa that you know you can come back to after a long day of walking in amongst the crowds. We have all been in those hotels, and they are great. But for better or for worse, they are virtually all the same. Then, there are hotels that are an experience in and of themselves. So wholistic and full of originality and beaming with their own identity that staying at the hotel becomes an experience that rivals the rest of your trip.
Au Lit Jerome was that experience for me. I might not remember much of Antwerp as the city in my rather short visit, but the living at hotel is an experience that will stick with me. I stayed in the Hemingway suite. Walking into it for the first time felt I had strayed into a memory from a different era. You are at once immediately aware of the meticulous care put into every nook and corner to give the room so much character and bring it to life.
The cherry on the top are Lydia and Eric - the two lovely people that run Au Lit Jerome. Very much like the hotel itself, Eric and Lydia are both charming, and warm and so interesting. Talking to them and getting to know them was a delight!
Before I end this review, I would be remiss if I did not mention Lydia's breakfast. The breakfast is so good it deserves its own review by itself, but since I have rambled on enough I will just say that it was quite literally the best breakfast I have ever had. Period. It is exactly what a great breakfast should be - warm, comforting, delicious, and wholesome, but Lydia manages to elevate it with a mix of skill and great choice of ingredients.
Antwerp is nice, but Au Lit Jerome will be the reason I will continue to visit Antwerp - not the other way around!
