Mortimer Arms.

Lovely clean and cosy pub with friendly staff. We stayed one night for bed and breakfast, room was lovely, (except for a blown bulb in the bedside lamp and the missing hairdryer that was on the included list), bed very comfortable and bathroom had everything that was needed. Will definitely stay again if we're in that part of town.

Great location not so great food

Literally at the end of the drive to Paultons Park - perfect for a day out there. Felt very child friendly. Our room was perfect for kids with a separate space for their beds - seemed very good value for money

The food in the evening was a let down, and very expensive for what it was. Breakfast was good on the other hand!

Amazing and worth the money.

The decor, the tea & coffee & water in the room, the space and the bathroom was spacious with a large shower. Two seats to watch tv was a bonus. Food was lovely. What makes this stay is the staff - they are all amazing.

Staff were excellent, very helpful and attentive. Room was spacious and well appointed and the evening meal was good although they did run out of a few options. Well positioned and also great value for money.

I like my room decor and facilities, it was quite a good size The bed was comfortable and clean. I like the bathroom, very modern and a new style of basin/tap model for me

I didn't like a sheet on the bed which had seen better days, it had a tear hole. The shower in room one, the thermostat was not working. The shower was too hot or cold, I could not get that right therefore my shower which was a wonderful model and good pressure, was disappointing. I did not understand the TV, for me, I need a manual in the room.

I probably would not stay again, but the staff were great. The venue is lovely.

The room was warm and clean. The shower was extremely hot and the thermostat didn’t seem to work.

Room was an amazing size, powerful shower (even though one bit was held up with Brown Tape). Tea/Coffee facilities. Food was amazing for both Breakfast and Dinner.

Close to Paultons park

The bed was uncomfortable for me. Bed was soft pillows were lumpy. Bedside lamps were provided. Only one was working. The other was not plugged in because the cable was too short to reach the socket. Shower water was dangerously hot and could not be regulated. Basin water strangely was only tepid. Breakfast was included but I would have felt cheated if I had paid the price advertised .

Quite a few things need attention!

Parking was good and Adam in the bar and restaurant was great despite being on his own for much of the time serving drinks and food.

Online Check in was over complicated - do you really need full details and signatures from both of us online!?? Coffee machine didn’t work and caused long queues at breakfast and the scrambled eggs were inedible! The room had no soundproofing and paper thin walls, a very soft noisy bed, bright lights on all night in the outside courtyard as well as the noisiest floorboards in the room and the corridor meant 2 poor night’s’ sleep!

Staff were friendly and helpful

Uncomfortable bed and pillows, very small bathroom, Hotel needs updating and refurbishment. Bar and dining room are unwelcoming with harsh lighting and little comfort.

A welcoming stay, with well cooked meals

We had both a well cooked supper and following day - breakfast Mother in law’s ground floor bedroom very comfortable, and generous in size. She was able to easily access the restaurant and soft seating area - despite being partially disabled.

Not overly pleased with staying in room 12 - that had a connecting door to another bedroom. During the early hours, light flooded through the bottom of the connecting door - and whoever was staying the other side - took a shower which we could also hear. Other than that, the room was spacious and comfortable- especially liked the little sofa to relax on.

Our room had been set up incorrectly. The staff offered us completely drinks whilst it was rectified. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful and breakfast was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more

Good location for what we needed ,room was a good size

Booking.com includes breakfast which was not agreed by the accommodation , however they did honour the breakfast ,the full English was a massive plate of food but if you only ordered scrambled eggs on toast it would struggle to be a kids size breakfast!

The room was very tired need a good revamp window had a cracked pain of glass walls were grubby not clean shower door off slider Restaurant tables were sticky food left on floor from night before at breakfast Had run out of lots of basic food like baked beans at breakfast and gave allergy advice not followed at breakfast couldn’t eat what I was given and not offered alternative

An interesting stay...

We stayed here overnight so we had a fresh start taking our grandchildren to Paultons Park. We were greeted on arrival, shown to our room and informed about times etc... The room was airy, spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a very nice meal, and enjoyed several hours in the neat and tidy beer garden. Breakfast was very nice and there's a good selection of food to suit all tastes. Throughout our stay the staff were friendly and helpful.

The only issue we had was an evacuation at 2am as the fire alarm went off, luckily just a false alarm, these things do happen and won't stop us from returning. The management were very apologetic and did offer a return visit as compensation.

There has been a big improvement since former visits. The restaurant is attractive decor-wise, and flowers look nice. The food was good and interesting. The room too was better decorated, including both floor and furniture.
