Really, pleasant environment, friendly staff and good food.

A really lovely place, I was pleasantly surprised as booked for convenience, it was just around the corner from Anderson Moores where my dog was.

The only thing I can fault them on is there were no usb charging points and I had forgotten to take a plug with me,

Cosy country pub, just 15min drive from Winchester

Lovely cosy pub, super friendly staff, comfortable, clean tidy room with a good shower. Quiet village, so no noise from road. Roomy car park as well which was handy for us, and driving the 15mins to Winchester town. The banana cake and yogurt with berries was delicious!

Truly everything was great! Breakfast menu didn't have any vegetarian/vegan savoury options on there, but staff were so lovely and accommodating - made mushrooms and tomatoes on toast without any issue. Bed was a little soft for partner, but I loved it.

Would highly recommend

We stayed for NYE, fairly last minute booking, but really exceeded all expectations. The pub is lovely, situated opposite the church, with an open fire and really homely feel, and the room was really spacious, and immaculately presented. A lot of credit should go to Tahir, the duty manager, and staff who managed a very busy NYE evening - the food was excellent, as was the party afterwards. We ended up staying an additional night in order to check out Winchester, which was only a 10min cab away. Would highly recommend, and I'm sure we'll stay again in the future.

The Pub itself is beautiful and homely, loads of parking and an open fire. It was clean tidy and a comfortable environment.

I can’t fault it but we only had 1 mug which was rectified

Location, staff and facilities were great but see below - otherwise we would have given a 10 rating overall.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced but breakfast didn’t start serving until 9.00 and even though there was only one other couple for breakfast it was 30 minutes before we got our meal.

Excellent stay

I walked in, was greeted and checked in immediately. Rooms are great, comfortable, very pleasant. Then I went for dinner and had superb meal. Net all good.

Very comfortable with great food

We stayed for one night and had dinner in the restaurant. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was of a high standard. The room had good facilities, was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent!

There were a couple of minor errors with our food order, quickly rectified and our dinner plates could have been hotter, but they are only minor issues in an otherwise excellent stay.

Pleasant pub stay near Winchester.

A welcoming pub with friendly staff, a lively bar and interesting food options. A good breakfast too. Our bedroom was on the small side but comfortable and well-equipped. Hursley is a charming village, although a busy road runs right through it.

Some road noise during the night. The "small plate" options on the menu, although tasty, were decidedly small.

Nicely refurbished property, excellent breakfast, service slow.

The room was large and pleasant. The bed was comfortable and there were all the facilities you could need (iron, fan, coffee maker and kettle, hair dryer, extra mirrors). There was a sofa in the room with a nice coffee table. All of the ingredients used in the dinner and breakfast were of excellent quality. An extensive breakfast menu was available.

The shower was cold. When we ate in the restaurant the service was very slow, although the food was very good.

A fine place to stay in a very pretty village.

Not quite sure what to expect after reading some mixed reviews but when we arrived the bar area was very busy but we were quickly checked in, shown where the emergency escape was then shown to our room on the first floor. Went out for a quick walk in the very pretty village after a long car drive and by that time the bar area was much quieter. Had a couple drinks which were sensibly priced then went for a lovely dinner in the Snug where we could choose from the Snug or Dining Room menus. A very good breakfast the following morning. The room we stayed at was fine and well decorated as was the whole place.

A lack of electrical sockets in the room which made charging a little problematic.

Disappointing for unusual reasons

Not a lot!

Because the hotel underwent a change of ownership the reservation could not be honoured so we could not stay there. Yet I have received a further email confirming the booking and some requests for ratings - how was your stay, and so on. Someone should really let Booking.com know the situation!
