Had a cosy feeling. Food was good and beds comfortable .
Had to wait a while in-between courses at the restaurant.

lots of character - lovely setting in anazing grounds
spa was crowded and loungers dirty and wet . Pool was too chlorinated, painful on eyes.Dangerous wet tiles around pool area.

Perfect getaway to relax and unwind, not too many people so everything was easy to access.
Lots of stairs in the Main building (Old Part).

Staff very helpful, friendly and fast to act when we had issues.
Breakfast was hot and everything well stocked (although we did get there at 6.30am, so not sure how it would have been later when it got really busy!)
We were very disappointed with the hotel - it is marketed as a 4 star luxury spa hotel, however on arrival we realised it is far from this and really is a tired hotel which now focuses on catering for a highturn over of guests from large coach trips. We had numerous issues with cleanliness and the facilities - no toilet paper in room, no spa towels/robes available for swimming, cobwebs in room, bedside tables dirty, carpet dirty, bedsheets stained etc.
Also there was lots of litter/dirty glasses left outside when we went to play mini - golf which again doesn’t really live up to 4 star rating.
The staff were very helpful when I relayed our concerns and gave us a partial refund however we were coming for a special occasion and it was spoiled really because the hotel certainly doesn’t live up to the photos/descriptions on the website.
