Old Swan Christmas stay

Very clean, comfortable hotel, fantastic location, easy parking and friendly staff, plus a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.

The breakfast was good, but I wouldn't recommend the evening meal, it was quite processed. I wouldn't book half board again, but would definitely stay there again.

Reliable, excellent Old Swan hospitality, but a slight sleeping problem this time.

As I've reported many times, The Old Swan has continued to provide for decades excellent, charming hospitality in a style rarely seen these days and at reasonable prices (provided there isn't a conference on).

Sadly, on this visit, our room was next to a corridor double fire door which, whilst they closed reasonably quietly, they caused guests coming through them to bang about and chatter loudly which woke us up several times. I should have asked for another room and will do so on our next visit. We have visited the Old Swan regularly over many years and never encountered this problem of a noisy room before.

Came with a friend for the Knit & Stitch show - a treat to stay again at the Old Swan Hotel!!

Genteel ambiance, welcoming and polite staff, comfortable room - great shower- lovely friendly bar in the evening. Breakfast had wide choice - lovely fruits, delicious black pudding and mushrooms amongst breakfast foods. Lots of fruit juice choice too! Have been before, would highly recommend and return.

All was good lift was very slow but it actually fitted the history of the place. Timeless and historical. Car parking charges were a surprise as we thought it came with booking. Not many disabled parking spots.

Location excellent, walking distance into town and Betty's tearoom. Buffet breakfast was excellent along with the evening meal. All staff very pleasant and restaurant worked like clockwork. The hotel bar was closed to residents at 11.00. This should never happen, residents should always be served drinks for as long as they want them. The staff were not courteous when closing the bar.
