It was just what we needed and in right place l am back there in June

Good hotel in great location & friendly staff

Friendly staff, location was good, close to local town, restaurants and bars etc.Large free car park. Bar snack and breakfast was excellent.

There was a boxing event on which created a lot of noise that went on until 11.30pm ish (despite us requesting a quiet room). Needed more electric sockets - only 2 in room which were needed for kettle and lamp. Plus the one that tv was plugged into.

Lovely building but in desperate need of updating

Convenient location and lovely staff

Very dated and in need of refurbishment. Room very warm and no means to alter temperature. No hairdryer, iron or ironing board. Bathroom door was yellow it’s been that long since it was painted.

Not impressed and not sure if we will return,

None, didn’t visit restaurant as it was not pointed out at check-in. We didn’t see the bar either though I saw the sign for a small gym.

Overall was very pleased with my stay, staff were friendly and easy to talk to.

I was a bit disappointed about breakfast as I don’t eat a lot, so have to pay full price was a bit over the top.and to be honest it wasn’t that nice. The eggs were like rubber the sausages were half cooked and not very nice, no very let down with breakfast,

The rooms were cold, I no it’s a big hotel but the rooms were cold. However the rooms were very clean. Yes was very please with the cleanliness of the rooms,

i love staying here 2nd time in 2 months in a good location.

a lovely comfortable bed in a nice warm room with tea and coffee facilities

shower gel application fell off the wall only a minor thing i know did report the problem also over the weekend sleep was disturbed after midnight as a guest set off the fire alarm and althogh i was fast asleep got dressed found the nearest stairs i was on the 3rd floor and was out the building in less than 5 minutes

Great location, great parking, great staff but the rooms need to be updated

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. The parking facility is brilliant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was warm. The location of our room was very quiet. Had a good nights sleep.

Room 107 is very very dated. The windows won't open. The carpet is worn away in some areas. The whole room needs a complete renovation. The paint work is chipped and worn. The bathroom showerhead will not move so can't direct the water flow properly. The bathroom needs re painting. The bath towels were thread bare. This room should not be allocated to guests until it has been renovated.

The hotel is nice but needs updating Evan if it’s just little things like showers and a bit of painting here and there.

It’s a beautiful old building and I imagine very grand back in the day. Great location and good that there’s plenty of parking

Rooms are very tired, the phone didn’t work and there was just a top Sheet on the bed so had to ask for a duvet as freezing cold, which they promptly supplied. You really can’t complain for the price though, and the beds are super comfy , very firm mattress which is great for my bad back

A pleasant and comfortable one night stay helping us to enjoy a much needed short break.

Excellent Staff - very polite and helpful. Extremely good breakfast. Although the TV was rather disappointing (only BBC channels available) and the wi fi connection was a little hit and miss we had a pleasant one night stay. The hotel was generally very comfortable and did meet our needs.

Nice Hotel but could do better.

Convenient for the town centre. Classic look and beautiful architecture. The room was clean and warm and the bed was comfortable. The car park was flooded and difficult to traverse safely.

We were on the top floor, last room. This was a little inconvenient. The maintenance of little things was lacking. The toilet seat was wonky because one of the supports was missing. The latch on the bathroom window was broken and the window blew wide open in the night. The bath did not hold the water as the plug was ill fitting and the shower was weak

Location great. Staff were really nice, decent and helpful. Room was freshly cleaned. The breakfast (we went down for before 8 am) well organised, staff lovely and cooked items were served on a hot plate(my bug bear-cold plates) Pleasant experience. We will be back for a longer visit to Harrogate.

A bit disappointing !

Advertised as having a Spa, but no Spa at hotel. Perhaps not allocate room 114 over weekend stay when music on underneath room until 11.30pm, then what sounded like equipment being moved about, we then had a 400mile drive home next day after not getting full nights sleep.

Lovely place to stay in an ideal location

The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good and well organised. We were attending a show at the Harrogate convention centre, the hotel said it would be a 7 minute walk and it was, if you are fit and active it would be less than that.

There was a lamp in the room that was not working properly, it kept flickering if you opened or closed a drawer on the dressing table as if a loose wire. I asked a few times if someone could come and look at it as we didn't think it was safe and we had a child in the room. Nobody came to sort it out, we were very disappointed about that as it was a safety issue. There was only one power point which was a struggle in a family room.

Room was very dated , the windows were dripping in condensation in the morning and not one window opened , bathroom was the same , poor water pressure in the shower and that was very dated too . Bad service at breakfast, only got toast and tea and coffee after we had eaten breakfast and that was because we asked one of the managers as the staff who were on didnt bring it after us asking 3 other members of staff .

The car park

Almost everything. It’s very dated and musty smelling. I found open biscuit packets on the floor down the side of my wardrobe!! I not sure how many years they’ve been there. The staff in general (barring the odd one) we’re as dated as the hotel and dare I suggest their ideas of service today is ‘so as we say’. The food was at best’ bang average’ and not good value for money.
