Room was a good size and clean on the surface
large hotel with decor that was fitting with the age and period built in
Breakfast staff on Friday very helpful in regards to our dietary needs and arranged vegan sausages
Good priced room
excellent location for the Turkish Spa
great efficient taxi service available via phone in the lobby
On entry to the hotel was greeted
but the pregnant woman on the desk came across rude and uninviting
Did not give us full information about what facilities that were on the premises
we found out about the bar due to the fact that we needed ice for our hot drinks as there was
NO FRIDGE in the room
Found out about the cafe on the last day when leaving
On entry to the room, went to use the bathroom and there was excrement in the toilet bowl
pull out bed was not comfortable
NO hand gel available at entry to the breakfast buffet
had to ask receptionist at front desk who said that "we don't keep it out anymore"
you could tell by the dirty dusty bottled she handed me from behind the desk
wrong directions given by a boy who looked like a new teenage employee when asked where to find the Spa

Central location. Family room was very spacious, pleasant and clean. Self serve breakfast was nice. All staff were friendly. Overall we had a great stay and good value for money.
Some repairs needed in the corridors leading to the rooms and room decor slightly dated.
4 poster nice touch in the room but squeaked when you moved. That said, the above didn’t affect our stay at all and we would definitely stay at The Crown again.

Great location, very quiet for a city hotel!
It was a bit tired, but I can imagine as it’s such a huge hotel it costs a lot to upkeep.

Located in the centre of town, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast, small but functional bedrooms on the top floor overlooking the town, next door rooms (had booked 2 rooms) as requested and a lovely touch of flowers, chocolate & happy birthday wishes for our friend, reasonable prices of drinks at the bar too
Everything was spot on for us

The hotel itself is over 300 years old & has a lot of exiting features which is truly amazing, the rooms are a bit dated but our room (258) was very spacious & comfartable.
Staff are really helpful at the main reception, maids around the hotel & in the main restaurant especially Jazelle. Food was amazing, small menu but perfect!
The parking - we couldn’t get a parking spot around the hotel, it was raining so we had to find a parking spot close by.
We actually found a spot near Winter Gardens so not too far, download the appyparking app then pay once you check out, it cost £14.50 for 24 hrs

Excellent location, central to restaurants, bars and tourist attractions.
Lovely grandeur with plenty of history
Rooms were a bit tired, need a bit of TLC, our room was at the rear of the hotel which we believe was above the boiler house or kitchen and was far too warm.
Up at 06:30-07:00 and no hot water, but the hot water came through about 07:30-08:00 so was a bit late.

The location is excellent and parking arrangement is very straightforward and reasonable price. It’s a bit worn at the edges but has a lovely charm about it. Breakfast was excellent. I liked it and would stay again.
Some new pillows would make the sleep even more comfortable. Not a major issue though.

The pillows aren’t very good. That’s the only criticism I can find

Location is Key and Car Parking and this hotel ticks those boxes for us. Really good breakfast with plenty of choice.
All staff were lovely, One called Josh (or Joshua) was extremely helpful a couple of times I spoke to him.
Nothing major, very squeaky floor boards in our room but this is a very old building.

Location and value for money. Great breakfast
Would have liked a blanket in the room as I was cold in bed. It was early January and snow outside
7.0 / 10.0
The location, was very good, easy to get to shops, etc
The bedroom , the bed was squashed against the wall, so with two adults I it, you had to climb over someone to get to the bathroom during the night, when I queried this with the hotel they said I had chosen a cosy room and that’s what it meant, because I booked with booking .com I didn’t see that, the room had one chair, it was suitable for only one person,

Food was good
Room a little tired (bathroom needed some attention on grouting and fittings)
Creaky floorboards - although this is to be expected in a building if this age but this made me anxious that I might be disturbing the people on the lower floor

Staff were excellent. Very helpful.
Food was good.
Location is excellent, close to the town centre. Everything is within walking distance.
Parking is very limited. Spaces nearby were hard to find.
The hotel itself is tired and showing its age.
No usb plug sockets for charging phones and gadgets.

Location is good. Like the overall ‘feel’ of the hotel. Like the period charm very much.
The bright security floodlights on the front of the hotel shone into our 1st floor room all night and there was no way to block them out. The half board rate does not now cover a 3-course dinner like it used to, and additional charges are now applied.

Excellent location on the outskirts of town. Comfy room but a little old fashioned. I didn't like the split level floor in the bathroom. Nice breakfast.
Finding the allocated parking was a little tricky and expensive at £15.

Slap bang in the centre of Harrogate. An ambience that matched the feel of such a historic and fascinating town. The staff were courteous and professional and prepared to go the extra mile to make our stay such a great experience.
Nothing that detracted from our stay.

Great location
Suite was huge but still very basic. Great to have a good fridge.
Bar was good (did not try main restaurant)
Parking realy convenient, if expensive.
Overall a good stay.
Breakfast under cooked and looked a bit ‘beige’
Smell in bathroom (362)
Lots of coach trip and event groups so facilities were quiet or overloaded.

Location was great , we have stayed before so we knew it was good .
The room was extremely cold , and took a lot of time for us to get warm , the room we had was extremely noisy , due to some kind of extractor fan outside , we had a 5.30 wake up call when it started , it was so loud we didn’t sleep after that .

Lovely location. Lovely Christmas decor. Nice staff
Supposed to be dog friendly but not really. Had my dog with me so couldn’t go into restaurant. Lovely girl who was on reception today offered to hold my dog while I went and picked my breakfast. Then had to sit in the bar area which was fine but the table where low and meant for having drinks at .

Buffet breakfast was great
Only slight niggle was the water pressure of the shower was a bit on low side but it was ‘ok’ and functional.

Great location
Came up on hotel search as free parking ( first come first served) with option to reserve parking for £15 but when we took a free space they charged us £15 saying they were fully booked but how could they have been when we found a free space? Felt underhand.
