    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean. My only negative is the ceiling in our room looked very shabby and uncared for. I understand the nature of the hotel and its age but for the price point i expect more attention to detail.

    Gorgeous hotel and fantastic location. The only issue was the temperature in the room on what was a normal 20 degree day . Fortunately there were fans on either side of the bed but still very stuffy.

    Warm welcome on arrival and room was ready which was positive. Lively bar and restaurant at ground (more on that later) with good prices for drinks (we didn’t eat). Most staff said hello but bar staff were not particularly friendly. Room and bed was small but that’s what we paid for. Room 331 on 3rd floor is an absolute joke, the noise from the bar, customers, staff emptying glasss bottles every 30mins is horrendous and doesn’t stop until midnight. The hotel website states “ there's no excuse not to enjoy a great night's sleep” Try sleeping in room 331 that’s a great excuse for not getting a good nights sleep. I asked to be moved but the hotel was full, the hotel management are aware that there are issues with noise, just google it ‘The Yorkshire hotel Noise’ and you will see but they continue to rent out these rooms. What was supposed to be a relaxing break away with my wife meant we are both now ridiculously tired. Room is very tired and water pressure was appalling. If you can get a room at the front then I’d say stay here, if you end up at the back stay somewhere else. On checkout the staff seemed surprised I hadn't enjoyed my stay; my message to the management sort yourselves out and please don’t respond with “we are glad you found our drinks prices fair” or anything else remotely positive.
