An ok night at the Yorkshire hotel
The location and the attached restaurant the pickled sprout, room was big and spacious although slightly annoying that the tv was on a side wall rather than facing the end of the bed
On arrival we found it very difficult to park but we understood the hotel was city centre, we eventually got parked 10min walk away, our room wasn’t ready so we stored our bags but 10min later when I wanted to put something else in my bag they were struggling to find them and then told us we never had a booking with them, the staff became flustered and was all a bit chaotic for a first experience of the hotel. The shower in the room was clean and modern but the water pressure was dreadful these things didn’t ruin our stay but we’re annoying

A fantastic location. Staff were welcoming and very accommodating. The restaurant was fully booked and the meal and atte
Excellent Location and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel has been refurbished and the decor smart. It was clean and the restaurant The Pickled Sprout made the stay.
Despite the refurb the Windows are not double glazed. The curtains moved with the draft and there was noise from the road. The bathroom needs some little additions like sanitary bags and tissues and the towels were well past there best.
As the hotel had no facilities and because of the things mentioned I would say this hotel is 3+ rather than 4.

Convenient location and easy parking
The location and parking was excellent. The room was large and presentable but lacked info on available facilities menus etc
Our room was situated towards the rear and it was extremely noisy late at night and early morning

Will not stay again due to constant noise.
Great location and not too far from a 24 hr carpark as parking is at a premium
Room noise . Do not stay in 106 - 108, you may as well have your bed in the alleyway outside! It’s really noisy with drinkers outside your window at night , bottle bins being emptied at all ours and deliveries from 6 am. Really disappointed and would not recommend booking a standard room.

Tired of being woken up, the rooms and facilities are great. Staff in reception amazing.
Stayed here 3 times now in the past month. And on all occasions I’ve been woken up by the cleaners at around 9am.

rude, hot room and no parking
room was big, bar and restaurant was nice
started with poor customer service at reception, no parking then being diverted to round the loop of Harrogates one way system to find out the car park was literally to left of the hotel, then was put in a very hot room with small fans. Stayed in 2024 and it was ok - this year was very poor - literally less then 20 car park spaces for a big hotel.. backed with rude young man on reception and a boiling hot room.

Room comfortable, staff not helpful
Nice clean room.
Staff, in regards to parking, arrived at 9:30pm. Absolutely bucketing it down outside. Sideways rain . They Must’ve been around 10 empty parking bays. When I entered reception, The staff member made me go back out to move car. So late at night and with the weather so poor they could’ve used common sense.
I checked later on when I came back from work at 00:45. 7 bays out front still empty.
There is zero humanity in anything anymore

Great location
Location. Cleanliness
Room was boiling boiling hot. Open windows didn't make a difference. Bottles smashed into a skip at 7am. Fans provided were completely futile.

Standard double, overpriced and very basic.
Location is perfect.
Small, claustrophobic double room. No table and chairs for room service. Couldn't order a light meal after 6pm, minimal tea and coffee supplied. No complimentary bottle of water.
TV in corner of room, not opposite the bed. One lounge chair but in a totally useless position. Filthy windows. No hooks in the bathroom for towels or robes.
If you don't book breakfast beforehand it'll be an extra cost.
Don't stay in room 414!

Birthday weekend break.
The location was great. Plenty of choice for eating in and out.
Bed was very comfy too!
I had ordered a bottle of wine and chocolates for the room as it was my husband's 50th Birthday, so it was a nice surprise for my husband.
We only stayed overnight. We were in a duel window room on the corner of the building and the windows were rattling throughout the night. Also a little draughty.
Fortunately there were heavy curtains to obstruct the draught.
Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay.

Location great - entrance, lobby area and bar really funky and stylish- room unfortunately do not follow the same theme.
Location
Rooms very basic for the cost - we had a deluxe double, it was very large but basic. Plug in electric heater - either very hot or cold, no air conditioning just a tower fan. Bathroom amenities very basic.

Nice hotel but unprofessional staff
Rooms were clean and spacious
Location is great
Staff were rather rude and unprofessional particularly at reception.I asked them to hold my bags as I was early and they said they would tag them, when I came back to pick them up they hadn't tagged them and my coat was left lying on the staff room floor. On the third floor colleagues standing in the office were having extremely loud conversation about another colleague in earshot of guests. Another at the elevator tried to push past while I was trying to leave the elevator, rather than wait for me to exit. These are not big deals in and of themselves but together I got the impression that there was a general lack of attentiveness from everyone working at the hotel and I didn't enjoy the stay.

The Yorkshireman Hotel - enjoyed the stay would go back if they could guarantee a quieter room
Very pretty and welcoming - staff were lovely - rooms nice size bathroom was modern and clean - close to where we needed to be breakfast was nice - bed was very comfy and extra pillows a bonus
I know this is an old building and was beautiful but being a light sleeper the room we stayed in was noisy all night with traffic/road noise as sash windows being old would not close properly - also being room just outside lift and stairs also noisy and therefore did not have a good nights sleep

Won't stay again. Looks good on the outside. Single room is awful.
Breakfast was rushed due to a lack of tables, massive que
for toaster and tea. Felt pressured to hurry up as people had nowhere to sit.
The bedroom was awful, single room,no space for the toilet could barely move. View of bins outside, noisy in the morning, stain on the carpets, dirty bathroom with some left over tissue residue.

Great location.
Location is perfect. Right in city centre.
The price does not reflect the quality. I would expect a circa £180 per night room to provide more that a couple of sachets of nescafe in the room, perhaps some Taylors coffee bags. I was also informed parking spaces were on a first come first served basis yet I witnessed a couple turn up in a lamborghini. Straight into a parking space before they had checked in. Perhaps I don't own the right car.

Enjoyable
Our room was overlooking the park and was a great view point
Most front of house / reception staff were very young and inexperienced in their role in my opinion

An overnight stay.
The hotel experience was all good. Lovely old building that's been refurbished to a high standard.
Staff were all very polite and attentive.
The room was certainly adequate but standard size.
We managed to get a parking spot but it was lucky. Think we could have pre-booked which wasn't clear on our booking.
We sat out on the balcony in reception for the afternoon. Initial rain but all under cover. Ordered from the pickled sprout app at the table. The sharing cheese platter was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
Breakfast was the standard fare, choice of continental and cooked.
It may be a dislike for some but the room was at the rear overlooking the bins. Several bottles delivered up to midnight and then the bin men emptying at a very early hour. Maybe this is just a Thursday morning thing.
Personally found the bed and pillows a bit hard but understand this is my preference.

Unwanted wake up call
Central location close to town centre, bars and restaurants.
Room seemed to be on an angle so felt like you were tipping. Our room was also over looking an alley with bars on it which wasn't too bad on the night time but we were woken up at 6am with what I presumed was deliveries of beer barrels and other items, this went on for 2 hours ended up checking out by 8am !!!

Poor housekeeping and breakfast with scant parking.
Central position in Harrogate with easy access to town centre. Pleasant staff, apologetic about the problems. Clean room.
1. Parking was nearly non-existent. The picture on the site showed extensive parking in front of the hotel, but this was really an illusion. Limited spaces are available, but many had been previously reserved with traffic cones by early arrivals paying cash. There was no obvious method in place of reserving these in advance, at least if, like us, you used booking.com.
We were initially told to park either on the surrounding streets and feed the meter or in a multistorey car park 5 mins walk away. A hotel-controlled parking space was eventually found at a cost of 15 pounds for overnight parking, which is quite a lot outside of a major city.
2 The room was fiendishly hot. No air con, and nobody had thought to turn on the fans, which were provided, prior to our arrival to mitigate the issue. There was clearly no plan in place to make the environment more pleasant prior to receiving guests . View was a passageway full of dustbins.
3. Breakfast: watery, saccharin 'orange' juice, inedible salty tiny solid-textured croissants, and hot food left out under the warming light so long the black pudding had turned to the texture of rubber and the bacon was solid. Coffee good and scrambled eggs OK. Far and away the worst hotel breakfast I have experienced. The staff were very nice and we were offered a freshly-cooked replacement breakfast, but we declined. We just wanted to leave.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful town
Right in centre to everything and nice comfortable bed.
Parking facilities and parking rules, staff were not to concerned about it. It’s one of the things I look for when booking.
