An amazing location just near enough to Harrogate and very handy for Harlow Carr Garden. We really enjoyed our stay.
The only thing I didn't like was the background music from the bar played from 8am till 11pm at night and I could hear it in my room.

The room was fabulous, comfy bed, a TV I could see clearly from the bed, lots of plug sockets, especially useful next to the bed as my husband has to use a sleep apnoea machine and the staff were very pleasant. I liked that the hotel reception was separate to the bar. A good carpark. The hotel was close to both Harrogate centre and the RHS gardens. Looking forward to staying there again
The food menu was not to our taste

The staff were all extremely helpful and always with a smile! Rooms were very clean and well made up with excellent bathroom. Breakfast was delicious!
Great location, 10mins from Harrogate train station by taxi. Great location especially if visiting the Army Foundation College as this was our purpose of our stay. It was 10mins by taxi from the hotel.
Everything was perfect.

Excellent breakfast - the cooked full English breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented

A lovely hotel in a quiet residential area of Harrogate with easy access to the city. There is ample parking in pleasant grounds populated by squirrels and magpies. Staff are pleasant, welcoming and helpful and the hotel is beautifully decorated with comfortable seating. Our bedroom at the top of the house was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food is very good with a wide range to suit all tastes. The 12pm checkout is a bonus as it allows for a more leisurely departure. Breakfast standards are served with a twist, beautifully presented and the coffee is very good too!
What’s not to like? Unless you are very demanding, this hotel has all that is required for a pleasant stay and we prefer the location to the city centre.

Location, space, comfortable room.
If I am dining alone and the table is for more than one person, please remove extra covers. Also, do serve receipt in a tray. I did not leave a tip for that reason.

The breakfast was excellent.
The decor throughout the hotel was lovely.
The water pressure in the sink was terrible. Very very slow.
The shower drain needed unblocking. It started to overflow whilst I was in it.
When we arrived back at 10:45pm the hotel had completely locked up. We were advised the main doors wouldn’t close until 11pm.

We stay every year in January for our anniversary and the food is always amazing. Lovely looking rooms. Staff always attentive and friendly. Great experience. Great value for money.
We cannot think of anything we don’t like at all about the venue.

Location is good and the exterior has lots of charm.
Shabby decor throughout.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, the food was great and the pub was lovely. It was a good location. The room was basic but comfortable and big enough for a family of 4.
The room was basic and a little run down, but still comfortable and good value for money. The TV wouldn't give us access to apps so we couldn't watch a movie like we'd planned, but we'd definitely go back.

This charming, old style hotel is a short drive from Harrogate.
The room was comfortable, clean and spacious.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The lighting in room 10 is rather odd. The sofa bed in the alcove did not have any light, so sitting and reading was impossible without a headtorch.
Similarly, the mirror next to the door was in deep shadow.
The loo handle was nearly impossible to flush and required two hands and a great deal of force to operate.
The breakfast was a disappointment. It is either a continental style breakfast OR a full English breakfast.
When I have been before, both were available including fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pastries, jams, different types of bread and a buffet style cooked breakfast.
Now there is an either or option which is not value for money.
Presumably this is a cost saving measure but is such a shame as I used to really enjoy the Pine Marten breakfasts.
At least when I ordered my cooked breakfast, once I had summonsed a member of staff from the kitchen, it was delivered after ten minutes.
I was not asked what type of eggs I would like and the toast was squashed onto the plate. I would have preferred a separate plate, a knife and some jam but hey ho!
Overall, this is a lovely hotel and I will return soon.

Food fantastic, staff excellent
Checkin. Having to wait until exactly 3 pm before being allowed to check in. We arrived at 2.40 and tried to check in but was told our room wasn’t ready. We hadn’t even given our name at that point but was told we could wait in the car park. We didn’t have our car so had to try and find a seat in the bar for 20 minutes. My sister had to do the same when she arrived the previous day. There must have been some rooms already, probably in fact all of them. I think the check in policy needs reviewing. That was my only gripe

With a young family of our own and visiting our extended young family, the Pine Martin has proven perfect for us, again (4th time, I think...). It's great and we love it. The staff are real professionals and seem to take pride in their roles. New staff were being shown, with tact and self respect, how to get on with things (I wish I had registered the evening bar service/breakfast service team member's name because he deserves a shout out for excellence). Thank you!

We liked the position of the Inn, close to Harlow Carr and about a 20 minute walk into Harrogate centre. The bar area was a very nice space to relax in, drink and eat. Our room was cozy and warm. Would recommend this Inn.

Location. By RHS Harlow Carr
Restaurant. Out of our chosen food by 19.30 and cold room to eat in
Bedroom, very cold with only a thin duvet. No extra bed clothes in the room.
Thin wall between our room 7 and room 8. People in room 8 were very noisy all night until 05.30
We had little sleep and were cold.

Breakfast was good, but we had to wait over 30 minutes the first day for it to be cooked. The building is old and ornate, clean and well decorated, with oodles of wood panelling. Shame there was no lift, but my semi disabled wife managed the stairs. Room size was good, well equipped. Bed comfy, too. Exceptionally quiet overnight, too. Never had a hotel room with so many sockets, there were 15, and the ones by the bed even had USB ports.
Plumbing maintenance in the room needs some professional effort! The sink’s tap (both hot and cold) were the slowest in the world. To flush the toilet took 3 or 4 hard jabs on the button to activate. The shower was pretty good and hot, but you couldn’t have it running anywhere near max flow because the drain was either partially blocked or poorly routed as the tray overflowed onto the floor within 2 minutes. Spoilt what was otherwise a great stay (if the hotel wants to effect repair we were in room no.1).

We booked 2 rooms for a 3 night stay. There was an issue with our friends room which was dealt with immediately and they were given a bigger room. On our first night we were driving to Leeds to a Marti Pellow Concert which meant we would be very late back. The hotel had a night entrance door which you opened with your key fob to gain entrance which was ideal. There was a nice selection for breakfast which was freshly made (not a buffet type) but you could help yourself to coffee / tea's and juices. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking spaces.

The breakfast was excellent quality, with good service. The evening menu had a reasonable level of options and the food was excellent. The room was a good size, and was warm, considering it was cold and damp outside. The staff at the Pine Marten were all excellent whether for reception, the breakfast or the evening meal, or the cleaning staff. The quality of the staff is the real bonus at this hotel / restaurant.
The drinks prices were on the high side for a pub restaurant, for a Yorkshire hotel I would have expected a choice of cask ales, not just foreign lagers. The one option of an IPA on draft was OK but very high priced for a beer. Wine prices were on a par with upmarket hotels. Reference the room, the TV was on a side wall, so viewing from the bed was hard work, it would have been more appropriate for the bedroom to contain two armchairs and a coffee table to enable you to watch TV more comfortably. The room washroom had issues with the water pressure which was on the low side, making toilet flushing a bit of an issue.

Good food at dinner and breakfast
Comfortable bed
The room was very cold. We turned the radiator up but it produced very little heat. Room was a bit dusty.
The bathroom was also cold and the radiator did not work at all.
Toiket flush was difficult to use.
Bathroon sink tap only proiduced a tiny trickle of water.
Shower tray overflowed onto the floor. We reported it but staff didn't seem interested,
Stone window frames in the batthroom had mould.
Bathroom floor was dirty at the edges.
The corridor our room was on smelt of sewage.

A wide range of food choices and was cooked and presented perfectly. The waiting staff were excellent.
The room was extremely quiet which was appreciated.
Unfortunately the room was not great. There was thick layers of dust on the bedside lights and the tv screen was moveable revealing layers of dust. The shower tray overflowed flooding the bathroom, we reported but wasn't fixed so flooded again, the radiator in bathroom didn't work [was fixed by hotel], the toilet button was very stiff & awkward to use, bathroom mirror didn't light up. The bedroom was only dimly lit which wasn't always suitable.
