Altogether, despite few issues we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and exceptionally helpful staff. We were upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise. The breakfast was fabulous!

We felt that the spa wasn’t to the same standard as the hotel, very small and too busy. We were also disappointed to not have access to a smart TV (although there were 2 TV’s in the suite, we could only access French TV and so couldn’t watch a film. Sadly the young lady who collected our car from the valet parking scraped it on the side of the garage, so we now have the hassle of having this fixed when we get home. Not a good end to a lovely relaxing break.

Lovely hotel in a city that matched its elegance and friendliness

The room was lovely. The bed was soft and comfortable but a little bouncy. I was woken up by my husband moving. The breakfast was lovely and the service was great and good selection Did not use the pool.

There was nothing I could fault. We spent some time in the bar area which was equally lovely. The staff were very friendly. I could not understand the comments from other people that said it was tired and did not enjoy themselves.

Far short of a 5 star hotel.

Architectural history

Very poor for a 5 star hotel. Facade of the building was not replicated in the inside. Inside tired. Rooms so little light we had to use a torch to see anything. Bar area open and not a “cosy” area to sit - more akin to sitting in a covered garden room.

Beautiful old building

Very dark rooms, poor lighting in bedroom. Toilet far from bathroom and while bathroom was updated, toilet is very basic. For the price I would have expected better facilities. Area was not particularly nice. Very underwhelming

A lovely hotel in an amazing building. The staff were friendly, room was comfortable and having access to a pool and steam room was great.

There were a few fittings in our room (311) that are due for a refit, but these were minor (e.g. shower height not adjustable).

We had a great time at the hotel! Everything from check in to check out was great! Clean, comfortable, easy going and great atmophere! Most friendliest and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Real enjoyable high standard stay

Good location. Very quiet. Room was spacious &, clean. Great breakfast. Nice pool (though not too big) & (wet) Sauna. Everything was up to a 5* level.

The only three minor improvements I'd suggest: 1. Head shower/shower stream was weak and not to the standard I'd expect. 2. Too often, it took (a bit) too long for things that finished on the Buffett to be filled (we had to ask to bring more milk, orange juice, baguette) 3. A jaccuzy/hot tub would be nice to have (and frankly, an expected part of a 5* hotel spa). Same for dry sauna.

Enjoyable and pleasant.

Clean and quirky. Staff very attentive and couldn’t be more helpful.

Rooms very dark. One of the beds in the room was very uncomfortable, the mattress was so old, had to request a topper. Shower over bath which was very high to get into.

Beautifull hôtel, but definitely for a 1 night stay only.

Very nice hotel, with a lovely little garden and an interesting museum. The breakfast was ok. The personnel were very kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. One night, one of our dogs needed to go outside at 3 AM, and I really appreciated that the receptionist accompanied me — it felt a bit scary outside at that time, especially with a rather demanding homeless person wandering around. Thank you again for the care and attention! Also, the creams and sun care line available at the spa are really good — a wonderful detail that made the experience even nicer.

Unfortunately, there were a few negative points during our stay: • It was very noisy at night, with someone cruising through the corridors throughout the night. Our dogs were going ballistic every time they heard the noise, which made it hard to rest. • The parking is excessively expensive — €40 for one night — and the car is not even parked on the property; it is taken away and stored elsewhere.

Nice hotel, unique building, friendly staff.

Location is great, valet parking very good, reception staff are excellent.

The restaurant area has a very bright basic room, the area next to it with the bar is more bistro like, the bright room needs redecorating to be more welcoming and the lighting changed. 3 couple were led into the bright area and all requested to sit in restaurant bar area . I did mention this when we last stayed here. Restaurant menu could also do with having some better choice of starters , otherwise food and service is nice.

The staff at the hotel were excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was also very good.

The only negative is the the restaurant. The breakfast is good in the morning but the Bistro for an evening meal was disappointing for a 5 star hotel

The hotel was ideal for the purpose of our group

The building was very interesting and the historic elements of it had been retained along with a small "museum" illustrating its history. The rooms were of a generous size. In the newer part the showers were temperamental. The hotel had a spa which was free to use and comprised pool, steam room and a massage and beautician services which were charged.

Breakfast was restricted and didn't feel like value for money.

The gentleman who greeted us. He sent a email to the dining room about my strict diet plus gluten free. Unfortunately chef went ahead and covered the chicken with something that had gluten on it. The took the plate away just removed the stuff and brought it back to me.

I could not ask for more!

We travel frequently and I have to say this was a great stay! After arriving from a few days in Paris, my partner laid on the bed and said “OMG this is amazing”. The same respond was given by my colleagues. The rooms are huge and the staff were excellent. The staff gave the best directions and recommendations. Further, they helped with reservations and bookings. In fact, the made my partner look like a professional experience maker. Finally, the hotel is in walking distance of the main and secondary stations.

Short trip to Lille

I enjoyed my 1 night stay at the hotel. I was welcomed well by reception and my car was taken care of. The hotel was well located and the staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and beds provided a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good quality and the staff were attentive.

The water took a long time to go hot in the room and the room had an odd layout , the toilet and bathroom were separate however with no sink in the toilet you had to wash your hands in the other bathroom.. very odd!
