Great location on the lake, we had a twin room with lake view and the view was brilliant. Check in was easy and very informative, ie, car park discount and travel passes. All staff were friendly and it was nice to have a bar and restaurant in the hotel.

We felt that breakfast was expensive for what was on offer. No hot food, not a great choice of cereals and the cornflakes were certainly not Kellogs!

Perfect location for a great price

Have stayed at the Hotel du Port three times now. Its perfectly located for our requirements as well as being right next to Lac Leman with its beautiful views. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Its close to the Metro so very easily accessible from the station. I will definitely book the hotel again for our return visit.

As an international traveler I used to find it challenging to find adequate electrical sockets to charge laptop, phones etc. However it was great to return this year to see the hotel had installed new charging ports with plug and USB points next to the beds. The rooms were a little warm this time so I needed to open the window but other than that, I can't really fault the hotel as it suits my needs perfectly.

If just location matters...

Excellent location in front of the lake promenade and just a few steps from the metro terminus. All other hotels nearby are much more expensive.

In summer, the room has no AC and the room located on the lake front gets very hot. No way to cool down with only a ventilator on offer. The room is old fashioned.

Hotel du Port, Lausanne

The view from my window on the 3rd floor was breathtaking. The hotel is located on a great spot and my room was with lake view. The terras of the hotel was also lake view. The hotel was easy to reach. Personell very friendly. Parking is nearby and you get a discount from the hotel. Take a stroll alongside the lake and see everyone relaxing, swimming, running, boating. The atmosphere in that part of Lausanne is very very nice.

Price quality wise: the hotel is quite expensive, but is very outdated. You feel to go back in time, rooms are small and old fashioned, bathrooms too. They could do with a fresh modern make over. But the thing that was most annoying for me is all the traffic noise. Its a very busy street in front of the hotel, with motor cyclist who pull up with a lot of noise and during the week there is even really heavy traffic, meaning also trucks. I think in the weekend there are no trucks allowed, so its a bit better.

Comfortable hotel in a great location with great staff

The staff were the most outstanding part of our stay. They were so friendly One guy, who was very smiley but we failed to get his name, was always. super friendly and helped one of us take a spider from our bedroom ceiling. Our rooms were cleaned and our towels were changed every day. Outstanding.

I would say that the only thing that I would improve is that the soap dispensers in the bathroom released only a small amount of soap at a time. But in a hotel which can’t be critiqued any other way, this is no big deal!

The location, the views to the lake, the room’s set up, fans (quite hot in summer and no AC), and the hotel’s restaurant.

Spiders would crawl inside if you left the windows open. Too hot inside the room even with fans on.

Location is perfect for mountain views, metro, boat, restaurants, and grocery shopping.

Carpet in the rooms was clean, but dated. A bit of updated paint and flooring would go a long way.

Perfect location and beautiful views.

The location is exceptionnel. We had rooms with Lake view and it was beautiful to wake up facing the raising sun over the lake. The simple room is a bit small in comparaison to the double rooms. The old fashion decor makes the charm of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast Buffet was nice, even though a bit pricy especially for kids. My kid received at arrival a bag with a leaflet about things to do in Lausanne with some crayons, which was much appreciated as well as free cards for public transport. The beautiful playground nearby is an added plus when traveling with young children.

There is nothing not to like, I can only recommande further

A basic but expensive stay for 1 night near the lake

Location

It was missing a tray with kettle for coffee. The Extension cable in the room was very bizarre . The breakfast was expensive for a cold basic breakfast.

A place to enjoy your stay in Lausanne

The location is superb, only a few minutes walk from the train station and Lake Geneva is right in front of the hotel. Even the hotel looks old but it has been well maintained.

Excellent location for sightseeing, car parking nearby, bus stop, metro all within walking distance, the hotel handed us a free travel pass which was a bonus, staff were friendly and very helpful, a large variety of food available at breakfast.

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been a nice addition

Beautiful location

This hotel has a fantastic location on the lake at Ouchy so there was a beautiful view from the windows. Our room was very comfortable and we slept really well. Breakfast was nice. The staff was friendly. Very clean. Free pass for the metro is a bonus too.

The location was nice - my room had full lake view - and convenient for using public transport (only 2' walking from Ouchy metro and bus stops).

Lights in the room were insufficient. Soundproofing of the room could be improved. Customer service was rather poor: nobody picking up the phone at the reception in the early evening, and nobody showing up at the desk for 10' even after ringing the bell...

location, breakfast by the lake

some noise in back the evening. I chose rear facing rooms for quiet but there was noise from the back of the restaurant. didn’t go very late thankfully. had I known the street in front would be closed off for the holiday and therefore quiet, I would definitely have chosen lake view rooms!
