Amazing and memorable and worth another visit

The property is beautiful and well kept. The accommodation is comfortable and staff at the reception was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

We were told the restaurant Lido was fully booked when we could see some empty tables. It would have been helpful if we were given some preference since we are staying the property.

Nice to visit

Loved seeing the old ship again. She is in pretty good condition. Food in the Lido was very good.

Our cabin (room) had a water pump near by. Very hard to go to sleep when you hear the pump going off at night. We complained and asked to get moved, but they did nothing. When speaking to a volunteer, they knew about the pump situation, so why do they put people into those cabins? Also some staff were very rude if you do not speak Dutch.

Disappointing, not at all the experience I'd hoped for

I enjoyed seeing the parts of the ship I was permitted to view

Staff, cabin carpet has been poorly fitted making it a trip hazard, the shower was filthy around the bottom of glass, covered it soap scum. On arrival we were walking around the vessel only to be shouted at by an older lady who said we must pay to view. This wasn't explained to us at reception and caused us much embarrassment !! Took a long time to check in very slow service

Very friendly staff, we loved our stay on SS Rotterdam.

Very authentic, it’s important to remember you are reliving the experiences of a transatlantic cruise liner from decades ago then you will really enjoy it. Bike hire available which helps with getting into central Rotterdam.

The only thing that could have improved our stay would be to have the 50cent ferry operating for longer hours, to enable a cheap link to the main areas during the middle of the day and into the evening

Cruise ship experience

The food was very good. We booked to eat in the Lido restaurant and the staff were very attentive. Bed was very comfortable.

I would have liked to have been able to see more of the ship. The tours finish at 5pm. You can then only access certain areas. We had an inside cabin room so it is very dark when you turn the lights off.

Coffee machine not working. No coffee sachets available and English breakfast teabags only on request. TV stopped working on day 2. No double bed.

Hotel with a difference as it’s a ship

Comfortable spacious cabin with good bed for a great night sleep. Good quality toiletries. Wide selection of breakfast options. Help yourself coffee and pastries etc. Water taxis available direct from the ship. Order on water taxi app

All aboard! Next destination 1959!

Step aboard and travel back in time. The Grande Dame is a magnificent ocean liner from a bygone era, still radiating the grandeur of its past. This historical theme is beautifully preserved throughout the hotel. At the check-in desk, you'll be greeted by staff in classic uniforms and receive your personal copy of the "Ocean Post," a newspaper detailing everything you need to know for your stay. As you explore, you'll discover captivating photographs showcasing the ship in its glorious heyday. The rooms are classic. While the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious but not very luxury (for today's standards!). Don't forget to take a tour to get to know more about the history, the upper decks, the machine room etc. It's very fun for the entire family to roam and explore the ship. The ship hosts will tell you everything you want to know about the ball rooms, the bow and bridge.

The wifi in one of our rooms was a bit flakey, but can't think of anything else.

Kindness and hospitality of the staff. I was in Rotterdam for a maritime business fair (Breakbulk Europe). So, the theme of the hotel was the best fit to my travel.

What a great place to stay! Being kn the boat was a really good different experience with glimpses of tha past wherever you looked. We caught a very cold weekend so the tra el into Central Rotterdam was icy! But the ship was nice and warm.

Great experience in Rotterdam

The location is beautiful, the staff is friendly. We had expected a bit more from the breakfast, but it was fine. The bed in our room was very comfortable. The water taxi dock at the ship is also very convenient.

Sunday night (Monday 01:00 – 04:00), there was a lot of noise coming from outside. It seemed like ships were being loaded or unloaded, and there was movement with roll containers. Because of this, we had to close the windows. The air conditioner in the room was not functioning properly. So, it wasn't very comfortable.
