Disappointing and overpriced experience

Bedroom upstairs was comfy and the bathroom was clean.

Our stay at La Belvinière was not what we had hoped for and didn’t feel worth the price. The “farm” consists of just a pig and a few chickens, with no real opportunity for interaction—definitely not the immersive farm experience we expected. The pond isn’t visually appealing as well. While the second floor bedroom was nice, the first floor with two small uncomfortable beds was dark, cold with a smell of a garage. The hosts seemed quite reserved and we didn’t feel especially welcome, almost as if guests were seen as an inconvenience. Breakfast was very basic and didn’t feel particularly healthy: mainly baguette, croissant, a bit of cheese and cold cuts (some of which seemed unappetizing), and a boiled egg. The setup also felt cramped. We were traveling with two young children, aged 3 and 6, who usually stay free of charge at hotels—especially since they don’t eat much at breakfast and don’t require extra beds. However, we were charged an additional €35 per child per day. That added up to €70 per day for almost no added value, which brought the total to around €190 per night. For 3 nights that ended up as a significant increase. At that price, you can stay at a very comfortable hotel or a much better B&B.

Excellent accommodation and helpful host.

Breakfast was really good, included fresh crusty bread, cheese, boiled egg, ham and tea or coffee. Very quiet location. You don’t get a room, more of a two storey house, with lounge and dining area on the ground floor and bedroom and bathroom on the first floor.

Perfect

Everything! The hosts were so welcoming. The little cottage we stayed in was perfect with everything you could ever need. I loved the decor and I found lots of inspiration around as we're currently renovating a house in France and we got so many wonderful ideas. We had an evening meal there the first night and the food was divine. Great location for exploring the area , Chambord was only 10 minutes away as is Blois. We will definitely go back to stay again.

The house was in the farming areas and we saw some cute animals raising their. The house was very good maintained with very nice decorations. The on-site parking lot was great and very convenient. The property was well planned with 5-6 one story houses

Our host Christoff was lovely and his wife makes amazing jewelry - they have a lovely animal farm and cute cats and dogs, so if you love animals - this is the place for you and the place is so beautiful and peaceful!

The rooms are spacious and beautifuly decorated. The owners make you feel at home with a kind reception. We enjoyed the home cooked meals and kids loved petting the dogs and cats. Location close to a few castles and shops available within a short drive. The place is perfect for start gazing, gets clear and dark and night.

I would've enjoyed having a small fridge in the room to keep our drinks cold. But no big deal in winter.

Beautiful tranquil setting

Lovely spot. We stayed in one of the cottages in beautiful peaceful surroundings and were made very welcome indeed. Though only a one night stay we had an excellent table d'hotes dinner and very nice breakfast with cheese, ham, home-made jams and yoghurt. This would be a perfect base for exploring the Loire Chateaux and we hope to return to do so!

Do check before booking if you have any mobility problems. Our cottage had a steep and quite slippery staircase so not suitable for older people or children. I imagine each cottage has a different layout so it may not be a problem. Also despite the lovely garden and lake there appears to be no pool. I'm sure in time the lovely owners will put one in, but the lake is definitely not for swimming.

A little gem of a hideaway, wished we could have stayed longer. Great stopover place on our route.

A jewel of a place. The rooms are spread over several cottages surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very comfortable, clean and cosy. We had a lovely terrace area at the back, overlooking the garden. It was nice and quiet, Coffee & tea facilities are always a bonus. The host's recommendation for dinner at Au Gre du Vent did not disappoint. Our little dog was quite safe to run around within the gated garden. Breakfast was served on a big table with the other guests, delicious and plentiful.

Our bathroom was upstairs, the bedroom downstairs, so for those who are not so agile, maybe an issue. There was no separate shower.

The hosts are really friendly and they want to make you feel like home. There is a lot of outdoor space and also the rooms are really spacious. It is close to most castles, but it is still in a quite area. Highly recommend to have dinner at the property because the host is an amazing chef.
