Decent hotel/motel for transit when travelling by car

The room was big enough, with all basic facilities needed. A plus was the fact that it was situated on the ground floor, making our life easier with the luggages (there is no elevator available in this highway-motel-type hotel). We had breakfast included, which came in very handy, as we could start the following travelling & sightseeing day with our 'batteries' recharged. The Swedish buffet type breakfast was decent, with enough options (with French baguette, croissants and pain-au-chocolat included, of course). The frontdesk personnel was very nice and helpful. Another big plus was the availability of a big parking, free of charge, as we were travelling by rented cars.

As we noticed before, in our previous trips to France, there is a certain smell in this type of hotels (we suspect it is from the type of cleaning substances used by the cleaning personnel). French breakfasts don't seem to include any fresh vegetables, only some fresh fruit, like apples and oranges.

Reasonable if you don’t have dinner there!

Breakfast was great and plenty of it. Good location near major roads, but quiet! Comfy beds although rather small!

Booked via booking.command and yet again it was a more expensive price when paying hotel! Had dinner in the restaurant and the pasta bolognese was awful. They had forgot to add tomatoes but had used far too much garlic salt. Basically boiled mince with garlic salt, it was as bad as it sounds! Awful!

Great for an overnight with dogs.

Had to sit out on terrace for dinner as dogs not allowed in restaurant. We knew this before so not a problem and weather ok but just be aware.

Excellent with great staff and food

Excellent staff , really a pleasure. Always doing everything so you are confortable. Best food for cheap price. We ate every evening there and it was great. Bed confortable, room well organized. Great buffets. Very good breakfast

Excellent Campanile, but with wrong name & address on Booking.com

This is one of the best Campaniles, with the new style of room, but unusually with the bed at 90° to the normal arrangement, which seemed to me to give more space to move around in. It had the usual large working desk and angle-poise lamp, and as with most hotels these days has had the bath replaced by an excellent walk-in shower (although there were no grab-rails). The restaurant was superb, and the staff were friendly and charming. The traditional Campanile starter and desert buffet has been retained.

I almost cancelled my booking because I couldn't find either "Campanile Orleans - La Source" or "Rue de Chateaubriand" in either of my SatNavs databases. It was only after some independent research that I found the hotel listed as "Campanile Orleans SUD - La Source". "Rue DE Chateaubriand" does not exist - the correct road name is "Rue Chateaubriand", i.e no "DE". Booking.com should amend these errors or other travelers might miss this excellent Campanile.

Homely and unassuming with good food and wine and great breakfasts

Welcome was very nice, able to eat on a Sunday evening at late notice, food was copious and good. Big thumbs up for the chips! Breakfast was really excellent! I hit the delicious carbs and jams while husband copied me after his meats and cheese. Fresh orange, great coffee. Could have stayed an hour! This is not a luxury hotel but it does the job with enthusiastic pleasure. I’d stay again

I didn’t try to see if there was a switch for an aircon that was on in the bathroom throughout stay but okay with the door shut and did make shower room ventilation first class

Clean, near the motorway, security. Good dinner, exelent breakfast. Very helpfull and friendly staff! Negative, a group of young people making a lot of noise in the middle of the night.

I always ask for a ground floor room: always well responded. Staff is friendly and helpful. The environment is fantastic, I always enjoy a walk behind the hotel in the « lane of the pines ». I would recommend this hotel to every traveler.

The website site states dogs welcome, however the dog was refused entry at dinner, unlike many other Campanile's that we have used over the last 10 years. This was very upsetting as the dog was only 18 months old, other guests BEWARE! The site was undergoing refurbishment which was not mentioned on the website. The scaffolding and floor covering materials were a very bad point. If we had know about this we would have chosen a diffent site. At dinner, the one of the 22 euro steaks was solid, the knife would not cut the meat! We complained but the staff did not seem to understand English but we persisted and eventually the bill was reduced by 22 euros. A very unfortunate incident.

Scruffy and dirty

Service, restaurant and breakfast was good.

Scaffolding everywhere. Looked like a building site and dangerous. TV did not work. Room looked quite scruffy. Bed hard. Bedside tables too low. Not good value for money.

A good stopover, en route, peaceful, but convenient for the motorway.

Great for us, particularly as we had a cat. The staff were delightful & helpful. And the bonus of a restaurant on site.

A veggie menu in the evening & some gluten-free bread at breakfast would have been welcome.
