Beautiful historic chateau set in peaceful grounds and just five minutes drive from Amboise on the Loire.

The château is absolutely stunning, set in the middle of nature and offering a true sense of peace and escape. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming and attentive, always ready to help and share useful information. The housekeeping staff was also very warm and thoughtful, and the small gesture of offering us two jars of honey was truly touching. Everything felt personal, elegant and perfectly taken care of, making our stay feel very special.
Honestly, there was nothing we didn’t like. Everything exceeded our expectations and the experience was flawless from start to finish.
Maybe just the wardrobe and bathroom doors were a bit squeaky and made some noise when opening or closing. It might just need a little oil. Other than that, everything was perfect

Not your normal hotel experience - this place is rather special ! Extensive semi wild gardens with walking options. We were upgraded to a suite big enough for a dance ! The host ( Pierre? ) was exeptionally helpful, booked dinner for us in town both nights.
Showing its obvious age in places as to be expected, keeping it dust free in all the corners is obviously a challenge.

The grounds were lovely; glorious deciduous trees , swimming pool (not in operation in October), woodlands, a creek, hammocks and sitting areas scattered throughout. The chateau could be grand, and probably once was. The view from my room was pure serenity.
It was tired. The whole place needed a good clean, the room smelled musty, the king bed was uncomfortable as two singles had been pushed together and held with a sheet. The towels were almost threadbare and the carpet needed to be replaced. Breakfast was ample but definitely not gourmet. The location is great if you have a car but it is situated well out of town so you need to eat out every night.

Unusual being in a limestone cave, yet very comfortable! Loved the renovation and design.
Sorry the sauna was not yet working, but understand it will be soon.

What an amazing hotel! Incredible to stay in a chateau built into a cliff! The rooms were enormous, the pool was lovely, the staff so helpful and friendly, and the breakfast fantastic. Already recommended to family to also visit. The only downside is driving into Amboise rather than staying in town but it’s a very short drive and felt nice to be somewhere quieter.

The property is magical. A large house built into the side of a hill, 12 rooms, expansive lawn, winding path to a private pool. It felt like we wandered onto an old family estate and we got it to ourselves. Very relaxing.
a welcome letter explaining how to make the most of the experience. There was minimal staff and it wasn't clear when/where to find them and what they needed to know from us. Something like, "there will be a person on duty from x-Y. Please let us know by X time that you plan to have breakfast and what time. May we suggest..."

Breakfast was great.
We've stayed at this chateau twice now. This time we were there during a brutal heatwave and the lack of AC made our rooms very uncomfortable.

The owner was very nice and tried to accommodate the fact that the air conditioning was completely ineffective by providing us with a fan. But the fan barely worked and didn't really do much.
It was exceptionally hot during our stay and the air conditioning did not work well enough. We paid for a suite but since there wasn't air conditioning in one of the rooms my son and I slept on the floor in the one room while my wife and other son slept on the beds. So we paid almost twice as much for the room and slept on the floor so not great.

Could have done with a bar and restaurant.

Liked the location and the walks around the property and the pool.
It’s a relatively new hotel, and there are some minor growing pains but generally good.

Lovely original chateau, to stay and experience the lifestyle of the Chateaux sur loire.
The property is being worked, adding new suites carved out of the rock.
Unique setting and site plan.
Being an old original chateau, it is in need of many updates and repairs.
It has the potential to being a 5 star with the right improvements.

Wonderful chateau. Clean rooms, easy check in and friendly staff. Assisted us with dinner plans and explained walking paths near the hotel. Our room was beautiful with an outstanding view. The hotel was preparing more rooms located within the quarry and we got to see them. We had a great stay!

Beautiful old chateau in a lovely park setting. The chateau had beautiful grounds in the French countryside with trails for walking our dog. Our room was spacious with two rooms living room and bedroom with balconies overlooking the front garden and park. Modern bathroom. The chateau is only 10 mins from the charming French village of Amboise, with old half timber houses and great restaurant pedestrian street opposite the Amboise Chateau. It’s also close 20 mins to Chenonceau chateau my favorite and a hour drive to Chambord. We also rented bikes and saw other local chateaus.. The owner Olivier was an amazing host, really friendly and gave us tips on the area and history of the chateau. It felt like staying in a French country home! Olivier also provided restaurant recommendations and made reservations for us each night. We especially liked Chez Bruno in Amboise (casual) and Liberte (formal and really amazing 5 course French meal with inventive chef). The French breakfast was also great with croissants, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, eggs etc. And the staff were super friendly and helpful! Totally recommend this amazing chateau!

It is a lovely building in nice grounds with a nice pool. VERY quiet and our Host was very interesting and helpful. Close to lovely town of Amboise.
An excellent location for exploring the chateaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley.
Ran out of coffee in room by third day (as not replenished); restaurant not operating when we were there but plenty of good restaurants
in nearby Amboise.

The chateau is beautiful and being renovated beautifully by its owner
the staff are very welcoming and friendly
distance from Amboise was good just a short drive
very peaceful area and we all relaxed
Breakfast should be included in the price
although we all enjoyed having breakfast
one person from our group only had a coffee on the second morning as not hungry
she paid the full breakfast price as didn’t want to question bill and ruin what was a very enjoyable stay
we weren’t sure what the chateau could provide food and drinks? no bar area or menu for drinks in the salon

We were given a larger room for our stay which was on the front of the Chateau which was lovely, we were greeted by Osmar who also gave us a brief bit of history about the Château and showed us around. The Château looks still to be having a lot of work done to it, which is great to see it being restored.
Because the location was a bit out of the town and after driving for the day there was no bar to sit and relax for the evening and we did not want to drive then again.

Absolutely loved this place Amazing Chateau, from 1701. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Great service and a lovely breakfast. Beautiful property with amazing views. We didn't have dinner there but they recommended a place in town nd made reservations for us, and it was a great dinner.

Accommodation was comfortable, spacious and well fitted out to a high standard.
Air conditioning was very poor, it didn't cool the room at all and the room was uncomfortably hot, TV in the room had no reception, no milk for coffee, no tissues and reading other reviews it appears the chef has been sick for 3 months, the only meal available in the evening was cold meats, cheese and salad. Had to go out for dinner.
