We would definitely return again

We loved the setting - off the road and easy to park. Our room was lovely - very private with own private terrace where breakfast was served. All very clean. Very pleasant host

Breakfast was lovely - idividual trays brought to our room The rooms are beautifully and characterfully decorated - much enjoyed.

very friendly welcoming. great localization in Amboise (with 2 castles : clos Lucé and Amboise Castle), and a gorgeous market on Sunday morning. just 10 min walk from downtown . private convenient parking for a busy town on Sundays small and very clean room. great breakfast ideal for one or 2 nights to visit the area

Quiet. very friendly host. Tea and coffee facilities which is very unusual in French hotels but almost always provided in Britain. private parking. Clean. Comfortable. Nice breakfast with some homemade products.

A distance from the town up a hill in a residential area which meant popping out for dinner was not possible. We learned when we arrived that a meal could have been pre-arranged but we didn’t realise which was a shame.

A great place which entices you to return.

Amboise is a wonderful town in the Loire Valley and is well worth a visit. "Au fil du temps" has two separate self-contained en-suite rooms adjacent to the house where the hosts live. The very friendly English-speaking couple made us feel very welcome and produced an excellent breakfast, eaten al fresco; fruit, yoghurt, warm freshly baked bread, tea/coffee, cake. The property has car parking for 2 vehicles, inside a secure gate, one set of outdoor stairs then leads to the house and let-rooms. Everything was clean and fresh, the conviviality excellent. It is a 20 minute walk into town.

Only my planning - two days would be better than just the one we had. The chateau is an absolute must, fabulous history and impeccable grounds and gardens, with a view of the whole town. The street-side restaurants and bars are varied and welcoming; the few we visited were very good indeed.

A lovely, quiet chambre d'hote in easy reach of the town center. Wonderful hosts who accomodated us at the last minute, gave excellent advice on the town and offered a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. Would absolutely recommend, especially to those interested in learning about the history of this beautiful region.

Charming comfortable chambre d’hôtes with an outstanding breakfast.

It had the best breakfast we’ve ever had in France, almost entirely home-made. The host was welcoming and the room was charming and comfortable. It was also a very reasonable walk to the restaurants in the centre of town, and the Loire.

The only small reservation was because it was located on a sometimes busy street, it was a bit tricky backing out of the parking space.

Logeren in riddelijke stijl

Het was een hartelijke ontvangst en we konden de auto makkelijk parkeren. Het huisje was mooi aangekleed, zeker na een bezoek aan het kasteel van Amboise sprak het erg tot de verbeelding! De douche was heerlijk, lekker geslapen en Frans ontbijt met o.a. lekkere granola en vers fruit. Lieve kat in de tuin en fijn dat je een zitplek buiten hebt.

Bij aankomst was het huisje heel erg warm, dit viel ons ietswat tegen (gelukkig koelde het s'nachts af). Voor de warme dagen is een ventilator wellicht fijn.. Hoewel leuk gedecoreerd is dit niet altijd handig voor lange mensen (de schilden hangen beetje laag).

Pozornosť v každom detaile – výnimočný pobyt

Veľmi milý a ochotný majiteľ, ktorý bol vždy pripravený pomôcť. Ubytovanie je v skutočnosti krajšie než na fotografiách na Bookingu, čo príjemne prekvapilo. Pred izbou je možnosť posedenia so stolíkom. Izba bola čistá, so zaujímavým interiérom a vlastným stolíkom. Nebola tam klimatizácia, takže neviem posúdiť komfort počas teplých dní. Majitelia boli veľmi pozorní – každý deň nechávali fľašu vody, čajové vrecúška, kanvicu so šálkami a dokonca aj kávovar. Posteľ bola pohodlná, kúpeľňa priestranná. Motorku sme zaparkovali bezpečne za bránou vo dvore, ktorý sa na noc zatváral (zmestia sa tam asi tri autá). Raňajky boli podávané na tácke – rôznorodé, chutné a postačujúce. Pešo sa dá dostať k obom hradom alebo si jednoducho nakúpiť v blízkych potravinách.
