Les Ambaciales

Everything about Les Ambaciales was fantastic, 10+++++++ Our unit was completely self-contained, with its own private entrance: a full bedroom, great bathroom with separate toilet, kitchenette area, storage space for our luggage and even an outdoor sitting area. The hosts are fantastic and full of helpful recommendations. Being foodies themselves, they had recommendations for top-notch restaurants in Amboise, which came in super handy as we didn't know the area at all. They do not recommend any spot unless they've tested it various times themselves. Breakfast (served on a covered patio or in their beautiful home) was superb, plentiful and always perfectly fresh. The house and yard are immaculately maintained. There is a pool for those for a post-chateau dip. The hosts also provided every brochure and flyer you could possibly dream of for activities and must-see spots. The house is a very short walk from the historic area and we never used our car to get around the town as everything is within walking distance. There is also guest parking available onsite. The only thing that could make this thing better would be staying longer!

Everything! Catherine and Bruno were exceptional hosts. We looked forward to breakfast every day, fresh fruit, cereal, croissant, bread with home made jams and freshly brewed coffee plus a homemade cake or muffin. The view of their garden was lovely, including a squirrel! A short walk into the town centre of Amboise and probably less than 10 mins walk to the train station. Very quiet and safe, beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing.

It is in a good spot, and nice and quiet but you ideally need a car - just slightly too far to walk too often .
