Cosy 15th century hotel in a great location.

Easy walk to the centre of Amboise and to the main attractions. Very quiet location. Helpful staff. Our family had a twin room for the children with a door connecting to the main bedroom, so very accessible. The train station is about a 1.5 km walk over two lovely stone bridges.

Convenient for sights of Amboise and Loire cycle route

So...the hotel photos suggest it is in a quiet tree-lined square. It is truly in such a square, but it is on the corner of two roads one of which leads to central Amboise and is busy early until very late. The hotel staff were delightful, the building is genuinely ancient and lovely. The breakfast was perfectly acceptable with a reasonable selection in a small 2-star hotel. The nearby bicycle storage was excellent. The hotel is precisely on the Loire velo route so was very convenient for us.

The room we had was exactly at the corner of the hotel so we had traffic noise from two roads, including the very early garbage truck! The position of the room confirmed my long-standing opinion that hoteliers give Booking.com clients the worst rooms in their hotels.

Exemplary - highly recommend

Great location, historic building, comfortable bed, good breakfast, very good room cleaning and upkeep (we were there for a week) powerful air conditioning, extremely nice and harmonious staff, and REASONABLE PRICE. Not fancy but very workable and pleasant. In front of a lovely tree-lined public parking lot. Oh, and there’s a kettle! Bring your own coffee if that’s a thing with you.

The dark carpeted steps were a bit weird, but the staff kept them clean.

Cosy, convenient and well located.

Conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the center of Amboise but with easy access to free on-street parking - closer than the hotel's own parking lot. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and I slept better there than I did at a fancy chateau later in the trip.

The room was quite small, and up a narrow spiral staircase, so best to pack light - my fault for bringing a week's luggage for a 2 night stay.

Motorcycle trip through Amboise.

I have stayed at La Blason on previous trips,.so was happy to stay there again. The hotel has character and is in a good location. The garage for parking our motorcycles is secure and very close to the hotel.

I had booked a twin room but was given a double which caused some confusion, however this was resolved, but the room was very small for 2 x adults with motorcycle gear.

Definitely didn't get a room as shown on the website. The room was so tiny that I had to walk sideways to get into bed. The bathroom we compared to a cruise ship bathroom, with the need to step up into it and the shower in a corner. The main door handle and lock into room just about fell off in my hands and I had to ask for it to be screwed up. I know its 2 star but still should resemble what is shown in pictures.

Probably the best room in the hotel. Newly decorated and well equipped room, very good shower and a bath is a bonus if one wishes to relax. Very comfortable beds.

Being on the ground floor of an ancient building, two things to bear in mind: some noise from the front door and people talking at reception, also - impossible to open the window unless there is somebody in the room.

It's the second time I stayed at Amboise. Both times at this hotel. Very confortable. Recent and clean furniture. No smells. Very good breakfast. Almost 300 meters from down town and Amboise Chateau.

Nice little hotel for a stopover. Was able to park my motorbike right outside which was very convenient. Single room was small but perfectly clean and comfortable. Good location to walk around the town too
