Good location but overpriced for what it offers

The location it was near everything we wanted to see.

The kitchen with very badly equipped and there was very little toilet roll and there was no sponge to use in the kitchen area there was no soap so it really didn’t feel welcoming or comforting. I didn’t like the bathroom with only the toilet and no sink

We didn’t stay more than 5 minutes because we found another hotel.

I found some bugs and they gave us a room at the fisrst floor without elevator ( we were with a child 2 yo). The studio was all open to the stairs so, dangerous for a kid. The property has no internet connection.

A good stopover but I wouldn't stay there much longer than a night or two.

The location and access to a swimming pool. The breakfast in a basket, although an odd concept, was very good and there was plenty of it.

We've stayed at this property before, quite a few years ago. It seems nothing has been done to it since. It looks very tired, the bathrooms especially need re-doing. The decor, curtains, bedspreads, could also do with a refresh. The whole site feels a little odd now that there is no restaurant. It's a huge place with no atmosphere, and not a lot of shade on a sunny day.

Central location with loads of comfortable space to relax.

Great location, closer to Amboise than we expected. We were able to walk into the town quite easily (although would maybe be too far if you had children, or elderly with you). The apartment was spacious & well equipped. Would be great location for groups of friends/family to rent together.

I did not understand that there is a short period of reception being opened and you are supposed to book a ‘late arrival’ if after 18hrs.

Underwhelming.

Location was convenient. Check-in was easy.

Was very cold and heating downstairs (duplex apartment) didn’t work. No working (either didn’t fit or wasn’t one) in kitchen sink or bath which made washing up and bathing the kids impossible. No kettle provided. Was clean but dated with peeling walls, brown grout and lots of scuffed paintwork.

Warn travelers they must have a car- we arrived via train and no taxi available. A passing couple took us 5 miles to Balligio in their car. No restaurant nearby but you can buy takeaway food to prepare in your unit. No wifi in room but in lobby which closes at 8 pm.

Calm area, comfortable cottage close to the centre (by car)

The cottage was on the ground floor, so we can go outside quickly with the dog. Calm area, few min far from the centre. The bed was really comfortable!

A little bit old-fashioned, the carpet has some patches, the freezer’s door was broken -> all out staff frozen in the morning (they knows this issue already, but not informed us)

Poor maintenance

There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Front desk said they knew about the problem but “the owners wouldn’t do anything about it.” No solution was offered: maintenance did not come to check the extent of the problem, no alternative room was offered. As a result, we didn’t feel comfortable in this accommodation, and spent as little time as possible in the bathroom, to avoid the eyesore and potential health hazard.

Passable

We use villa Bellagio as a stop-over to break the journey: it works for that purpose as long as you just sleep in the room: reasonably priced, clean sheets, adequate size of the apartments, quiet location, proximity to the town. Friendly reception staff.

everything else is mediocre (unfortunately): stained carpets, crumbling paint, design of some apartments (2 glass doors in the ground floor apartment and no window - how do you sleep at night at +34C? - with all doors open??????), the whole set-up of the grounds and the main building. Make sure you have your own soap and shower toiletries - none supplied in the room, although, the worst case scenario, you can ask at the reception and they might give a couple of pouches.

Not worth the money we paid for it!

Location was nice, and swimming pool was very refreshing.

There was mold in the ceiling and therefore the appartment smelt. No chairs to sit outside. the atmosphere was very cold and boring. A lot of movement of people during the night.

No soap or shampoo in the toilette (second year in a raw). Just one used toilet paper for 4 people. Restaurant closed (maybe because of the COVID). You need to bring almost everything.

Comfortable room, all necessary facilities. Quiet site. Pool was refreshing, especially when it was quiet. Nice not being cleaned daily - not having to say no to cleaners or asking them to come back later.

Pool was too small when busy. Depends on what time or date you are there I think. There was a metal lip in the doorway which was just the wrong distance for getting the wheelchair into the room easily, so getting in was quite tricky. I had to improvise to fill in the gap.
