Great location, apartment very clean, comfortable and everything we needed was available.

The flat itself was quite nice. It was sparkling clean, and the location couldn't be beat. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and there were plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, washing-up liquid, etc. *For some reason the pots and pans are stored on top of the cabinets seven feet in the air (no exaggeration - my 6'6" brother couldn't reach them without standing on a chair) but at least there were plenty of pots and pans. *The bathroom is well-equipped with both a tub and a shower. The top half of the bathroom door is etched glass, which seemed an odd choice for a bathroom. We were a group of siblings who had no desire to see each other's bathroom activities through the etched glass, so we taped up a toilet paper curtain. Worked fine. *Not a complaint, just something to note: there is no soap tray, shelf, or handle in the shower and the floor of the shower is smooth plastic. You need to be okay with bending to the ground to retrieve soap or shampoo on a slippery floor with nothing to hold on to. *Also to note: you need to bring literally all food items with you. There are tea and sugar canisters but nothing in them. The salt and pepper shakers on the table are also empty. *Great people-watching opportunities through the windows but also very noisy - all windows are single paned glass. We came prepared with earplugs and white noise machines and we were fine. *The front door only opens by clicking a web link or calling the call centre every time. If you're coming from overseas and you thought you would sort out your phone when you got to the UK, you probably need to reconsider staying here.

I'll never stay at an Altido property again; we had one problem after another with the management company. The main problem is that the only contact info they give you is for a call centre overseas where heavily-accented people ask you to speak more slowly and don't actually have the power to do anything. The call centre is meant to report problems to the local management team who then contacts the landlord if necessary, but we never once got any help by calling that number. *Altido said that they would give us a code for the keysafe 24 hours in advance, but they didn't. Four calls to the call centre while we traveled still resulted in no code. We eventually found the address for the local office and stood there until they gave us a key. If we hadn't had the office address or had arrived outside of business hours, there would have been no way in. (Several hours after we arrived they finally sent us the code to the keysafe. It was empty.) *A few days into our stay, we woke up to a cold flat and no hot water. The landlord hadn't paid the gas bill so the gas company had cut off the gas. For the first 10 hours, Altido's response was merely to say that they had contacted the landlord--they didn't feel like they needed to do anything else. Eventually after 12 hours, countless phone calls, and two increasingly desperate visits to their office, they sent over some space heaters (it was 4 degrees) with some maintenance guys who were wonderful--something finally got done. Gas was off for about 36 hours. *We managed to lock ourselves out at 5am when we were leaving - our fault. No problem, Altido advertises a 24/7 hotline, right? Wrong. The call centre explained that 24/7 only refers to the call centre; you can report issues 24/7 but they're only dealt with during business hours. We had to sit outside for 3 hours until the office opened. *They don't publish the office address or phone number but you'll need it.
