Brilliant apartment

Cleanliness and quality of apartment, location and views over city. Situated above two really old Edinburgh pubs,both of which are fab.

Spacious, clean and cute apartment in the best location between old and new town. We had everything we need and for questions we had the response was quick and friendly. Our appartment was on the 5th floor so it’s not for everyone, but it was no problem for us.

Amazing location and modern apartment

Location is perfect, we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go to, right across the road from the station which was perfect as there is a storage room for luggage that we picked up just before our train home. The beds were so comfy we struggled to get out in the morning! And the view from the windows was amazing

Just a lot of stairs but I suppose it can’t be helped as no room for a lift! At least it got our step count up even more!

The location was perfect to tour round many different parts of edinburgh. It was very clean and had everything we needed to do a little self catering.

Short break in Edinburgh

The apartment was across the road from the train station, however the three flights of stairs were a challenge to say the least. The bathroom was very cosy but adequate & the kitchen facilities were good.

Loving Edimburgh ❤️

The apartment was in a stretegic position, within walking distance of landmarks, shops, pubs and everything else that is worth visiting in Edinburgh. It was also very close to bus and tram stops. It's clean and comfortable. There are two pubs in the building but it is completely silent .You will be welcomed to the apartment with tea, coffee, cream and biscuits. Excellent!

Highly recommended to visitors, but note that have to carry luggage up the stairs

Very centrally located- we did not take any public transport at all. Also very walkable to Edinburgh castle, Waverly train station and walkable to a huge Christmas market. Very comfortable space, kitchenette was well equipped and even had a dishwasher! We also appreciate the smart TV functions :)

No stairs to the floors (but that was specified to us early on, so it wasn’t a surprise). Could hear neighbours at time too.

Lovely, comfortable and quiet stay in the old town

Location was great. It was mostly quiet - the double windows really help. This was important to me and seems to be one of the few quiet places central. The apartment was small but had everything we need, comfy beds and a bathroom for each bedroom.

Only someone doing laundry at 11pm I could hear. Maybe set a rule for laundry times.

This is the perfect place to stay

The location is outstanding. Right opposite the Christmas markets and within 15 mins walk of everything you’d want to see. Loved the pubs around market street.. the actual apartment was lovely, modern facilitates, cosy but not too cramped. Absolutely perfect for our weekend away.

Everything was amazing. Really, so good! Coffee, Tea, washer and dryer, nice shower with good pressure, comfy bed, a pub right underneath, and SO CENTRAL! Couldn’t have asked for a better stay ⭐️

The place is very dirty, the apartment is in 3rd floor. There is no lift. This was not mentioned clearly at the time of booking. The building smells very bad over all.

On this occasion, not worth the £210 a night.

Excellent location and apartment is very comfortable. Very quiet despite being in the heart of the old town and above a bar.

We have stayed before but on this occasion we feel housekeeping had maybe been rushed and we had some cleaning issues. You are made aware that there is no lift but best noting there are 5 floors and stairs are pretty steep as it's an old building. The temperature of the shower fluctuated no matter what setting you used and was never hot.

Great central location — close to everything. The apartment was clean, bright, and had new furniture. It felt fresh, airy, and very comfortable after a day out in the city.

There was no lift, and the apartment was on the 5th floor, which made carrying luggage a bit difficult.

Expensive but disappointing

Security alarm went off two nights in a row for several hours. Sent a message to manager and were told that the alarm was associated with the building next door. Great except the alarm itself is situated right above the door to the apartment. Not acceptable.

Response to the alarm issue wasn’t handled properly. Bedding is poor quality.

The room was spacious, clean and over looking the center, good views, really good location easy to get to shops, castle, and the local buses, food served in several places nearby,

Loved the location! Apartment was nice and spacious and equipped with everything you would need. The only thing my husband and I struggled with the temperature of the apartment. There were no instructions on how to use the thermostat. It was very hot in our apartment. We turned off the heat but could not figure out how to put on the AC? Not sure if it even had AC? When you are on vacation the last thing you want to do is call about how to use the thermostat. Instructions should be readily available near the thermostat. That was our only complaint concerning the apartment. Everything else was perfect.

Centrally located. Several restaurants and attractions nearby. Room was very up to date, spotless and very comfortable.

Unfortunately there is no lift (elevator) in the building and I'm 73 years old. Taking luggage up 5 flights of stairs was a bit of a challenge. A young resident helped us with some of the bags. Met a few of the residents and everyone seemed very nice.

Location. Design, if not functionality, of apartment.

Booking.com (BC) was selected by Destiny as their representative. BC description mentioned lifts didn't service all upper floors. This logically indicates lifts service partway up. We've experienced this elsewhere in Europe. We were in 5th floor attic and there were no lifts at all. I contacted Destiny Thursday for a Sunday check-in after welcome email said no lifts at all. I asked for a lower floor, immediate NO. I asked for another Destiny property in vicinity, immediate NO. I asked that a porter be supplied to help with luggage, immediate NO. I asked to be allowed to cancel without penalties...NO! I had explained I'm 64 and this presented a great physical challenge for me. I was quite rudely told I should have read Destiny website instead of relying BC. My back still hurts. Whole visit heater was set too high and wifi didn't connect. After 4 or 5 requests I was sent Nest and wifi codes neither of which worked. Another rude BC agent said to just leave the windows open and use fans. We were responsible guests and didn't flood the floors as this advise would have done. I would hope BC is readying a refund and dropping Destiny as an affiliate.

Wonderful flat close to the Royal Mile, Waverly station, and in the heart of the city.

The entire process was easy, I really appreciated the coded doors and not being responsible for keys, and communication with the staff was flawless. The location was absolutely perfect - right across the street from the Waverly station and airport bus stop, as well as a short (but steep, which is all of Edinburgh) climb up to the Royal Mile. The apartment was well stocked, very clean, and I LOVED having free laundry facilities available!

I somehow missed there wasn’t a lift on the property in the original posting. Being on the top floor (6th), this was a bit getting used to after miles of walking each day, and for older folks or people with a physical disability, this would have been an impossibility. It was a bit difficult getting bags up (thankfully, one of the property’s hospitality staff happened to arrive at the same time I did and carried mine up for me!). Another resident was also surprised about the lift, and mentioned needing to change floors as a result. We received notice about this three days in advance of our booking, and I may have missed it in the original post. It isn’t impossible, but it is important to know as you choose your room (although, the top floor came with AMAZING views).
