Royal Mile Apartment

Hosts responded fast and were very helpful re extra keys request. Apartment is in a great location literally on the Royal Mile but facing to the rear, over the characterful and QUIET back streets. If you've done the Mary King's Close or any underground Edinburgh tour... the view becomes really interesting! THe property is on the 3rd floor (also helps reduce any noise) and it has a LIFT! This was critical for one of our group that couldn't manage many stairs. The Sofa bed is really decent and comfortable. You have to go through the lounge (with the sofa bed) to reach the kitchen, BUT the bathroom is separate, so can be accessed from either sleeping area without disturbing the other. It's a very small apartment by it's well equipped and clean. Perfect for seeing the city. We would highly recommend.

The window in the bedroom didn't open. It was not too hot when we were there so this was not a problem and if we had left all the doors open, it might not have been an issue, even if it had got hotter. However, if you have people using the sofa bed and want privacy, then it would be good to be able to open that window!

Location was wonderful!

It was warm and a ceiling fan would have been nice. Didn’t see instructions on cook top and oven. Purchased dinner which required the oven but could not get it to work but we did figure out cook top for breakfast.

Ok little flat, does the job, and couldn’t be more central! Very good location for walking everywhere in the city centre.

Very expensive. The flat and stairwell is a bit tired and in need of updating. Sofabed matress isn’t the best, but I still slept well. The Royal Mile is extremely busy this time of year, which some people may not like.

The apartment lacked in cleanliness overall. We open the sofa sleeper to find it still had dirty sheets. Luckily, clean sheets were provided so we changed the bedding, removed the toy and went about our holiday. The wine glasses had cobwebs inside them, even though they were upside down. Water pressure was HORRIBLE. you could not rinse the soap off of your body leaving is very itchy. All of this was an inconvenience but did not greatly impact our holiday. Waking up the morning we were leaving to find bed bugs was the nail in the coffin. We alerted the team and were advised it would be looked into.
