Organised and clean
Nothing major, but maybe hanger inside lockers ? The lockers are pretty big and we dont have hangers in the entire room so this could be it

The staff were very friendly and it was close to the train station
I found TOENAILS and used cotton buds down the side of my bed, the rooms were absolutely freezing I could see my breath, I went to reception but nobody was there, the events in the evening, felt left out and on my own as the staff and other guests spoke in french, ignored me when I sat down, awkward

Nice communal area
Claustrophobic, smelt very bad, unclean, dingy

Being situated in Gentilly, it was pretty easy for me to get to various landmarks either via the train station, bus or tram. So in terms of location, I thought it was really good and easy.
As soon as I walked in through the doors, there was a smell of sewage or bad pipes. Either there must be a drain problem within the hostel or something more concerning? Not a very welcoming first impression to be hit by that smell.
My bed was a bottom bunk in an 8-bed dorm and the bottom beds have blinds. Mine was broken and I had to roll it up and down manually each night which would make noise and was cumbersome.
Dust and hairs everywhere as other people have said.

It’s not clean at all!

I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were very comfy. There were two seperate bathrooms, one with toilet and sink, and one with a shower and sink which I think was an amazing setup in the room. There was also a mirror with a long curtain to change. We didn't try the beers but there were a lot of options, and it was super fun and welcoming in the lobby and backyard. I took the bus to the metro stop to get to the main attractions in Paris. It was about 30 minutes total to get anywhere. The bus stop is a minute walk away. I recommend for a cheap but awesome hostel in Paris.
There was an older man staying in our room who didn't know how the power worked. He kept taking our room cards out of the keycard slot to keep the power on, when he left the room. It was rather annoying. But nothing against Jo & Joe. Just maybe explain how it works to everyone.

I liked the fact that the Hostel was located very close to the Cité Universitaire Campus which is inside the park and very close to the Gentilly Metro Station, then the neighbourhood is quiet, pleasant and pretty. I liked the area and I felt safe It’s a beautiful area with lots of green areas.
I would prefer have my own room with more privacy.
And would be good have easy access to the toilets, because have to use the keys to use bathroom and go back to the room is inconvenient.

Quite enough for me
You would need to be an athlete to get into the upper bunk bed. Breakfast finishes too early at 10am, and check out is also early at 10am

Near the metro station. Communal area on the ground floor was comfortable, big and lively.
Bathrooms and showers could be a bit cleaner and bigger. There’s a chance you will stay with noisy people in your room.

The staff was friendly and always tried to be helpful.
Location is good as it is located near a train station, and the train which departs there goes to the city centre.
Had a problem with my light, just turned itself on automatically during the night and they changed my cabin in the middle of the night and i could kove my stuff the next day.
Room description on booking.com is misleading. It said soundproof and air con, but both is only half true. The cabin has no window and no ac, so it gets stuffy. Because the window and the ac is located in the big room, in which 4 cabins are. Also the cabins are not soundproof, and even let light in if sb in the big room leaves or enters (automatic light). Also they mix genders (i think i shared it only with men) and then i had a snoring neighbour. Also i would feel more comfortable with mostly/only women in the room😅

1. Location was great. Having RER station just 100-200 metres away was the highlight and it made my paris stay much better. Easier to commute whether it is to major tourist location or cdg airport.
2. They let me check in early (although i went there to keep my luggae in the locker and told them that i can comeback later when their check in time starts) which was a life saver for me.
3. Box kinda bunker bed with individual dim light and plugpoint was great. It provides proper privacy.
One or the other elevator always had some issues. One night all the elevator was not functioning and had to climb all the 6 floors by stairs.
They didn't clean the bed properly before my check in. Found a pair of old socks of previous occupant near my bed.🥴

Parking space with electric charging is a really good alternative.
There are only 2 chargers but I managed to get 1 free all the time.

It exactly matches the description. Good value for money. I lost my card that opens the room and it was given to me 2d time without any fees. Also free water at the bar is great.
Nothing particularly. Maybe I’m a bit too tall for the bed

I stayed here many times, but this time it isn’t perfect than 2 years ago. The light in my room is dead, I told the front office 2 times, but they didn’t fix for us during my 3 days stay. Price is high compares to the quality of the room.
The wall in my room is black, lighting is too weak inside the family room

definitely nice facilities, and a pretty decent breakfast. the pods are roomy
Not the best location, mostly because the tram station next to it was closed for renovation.
uncomfortable bed and the sheets kept coming off

The room looked quite big enough for 4 persons but the bath room had the water was not draining.
The water was not draining in the bath room and the lighting the room was poor.

It was disappointing that the terrace we had booked was out of bounds due to repairs as it would’ve been great to sit and look out over Paris. We were compensated for this though.
The kitchen area upstairs was also a little untidy.

Friendly staff. Clean and the location was decent.
Sometimes the guests are loud but it isn’t about the property and they could have ac or fans for guests / rental maybe.

it was a comfortable place.
the bedrooms were really good
i arrive with one beer that i bought on a supermarket. and a person of security told me to go outside because if i want to drink something, i have to buy it there.
outside was -1 degrees, it was really cold.

The staff is amazing, always willing to help and very friendly. The room was comfortable and the menu in the bar was also pretty good - even considering veggie options. There are also some good social activities to interact with other people in the evenings.
The location is a bit away from the most touristic places, but even thought the train station is only 2 blocks away, so it’s not that bad.
We stayed for 5 nights, and it would have been a great plus if there’s been room service even once (change of sheets, towels..)

They charged me extra.. The building is very old.. I had paid for breakfast and parking. But they charged me again.. All the corridors and the room smelled of cigarettes.. The air conditioning service was not working.. The bathroom and toilet were dirty and dirty.

Massive place, with a really good hangout space on the ground floor. The reception, bartenders and baristas are very friendly people. Beda are comfy
- The toilet was stinking bad, the reception didn't get it cleaned even after a day

I liked everything, it was the best Hostel I've ever stayed in on my entire trip, I was surprised by so much beauty, comfort, cleanliness and friendliness of everyone.
There's nothing wrong, everything is wonderful.

Good location with public bar at the Ground Floor and very close to Gentilly metro station. Valuable price near Paris center
Really small toilet and bathroom. There was no cleaning carpet outside the toilet. There was a small cabinet with no hanger. Locker options is limited in duration choice. Breakfast is poor with only croissants and cold platters and nuts.

I loved the location of the hostel. It very close to a train station and still save to walk at night. The staff at Jo&Joe's were very helpful. I initially booked a cabin that I wasn't quite happy with but they quickly changed my room for me which really made my stay even more enjoyable. Bar & restaurant staff are very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
That there were no open windows to our room, I don't know if I missed it or if it's the setup.

The location was perfect for a short trip to the RER and we appreciated the friendly staff, being able to fill up water bottles as facilities.
We were in an accessible room which was well thought out with little touches to help enjoy our stay. It helped the only part of the room with soft furnishings was the bed so easy to double check for bed bugs. Everything was spotless.
We were disappointed that one of the blinds was missing so we asked to use a sheet to cover it as best we could to sleep. We did report it but doesn't seem like it will be fixed soon. Our room was over just outside so it was exceedingly noisy on the Saturday night as the hostel is also a bar. We brought ear plugs after reading reviews so expected it.

The hostel is beautiful, it has a lot of shared areas and it was always clean. It’s not in the center of Paris but there’s a metro station just one block away so you get to Paris in 20min.
The lights in the room were not so bright, at night we had to turn on the personal light on each bed.

4.0 / 10.0
Modern and well kept, relatively new.
Booked a shared room but was put in a cabin that didn’t have an AC vent, was sweating and very uncomfortable. When relocated to shared room, AC did not work and lock on door didn’t work, 2 men walked into my room during the night in 2 different occasions. Didn’t feel safe. Ended my stay early and no questions or apologies from staff. Location was not ideal, didn’t feel particularly safe as a solo traveller.
10.0 / 10.0
Location close to train station, paintings and decoration, facilities, blinds for privacy in beds, lockers, automated checkin and easy checkout system, discounts in purchases, my room had a nice terrace with City view.
Perhaps just calling it Gentilly, since it's not really in Paris, would be useful for booking. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and did not have extra supplies. Lower beds at bunkbeds are almost in the floor. A design where beds are just a tad higher would be an improvement.
