Spacious old cottage, with dog-friendly enclosed spaces outside and a lovely view over the river. Remarkably we saw an otter on the riverbank..
Newtonstewart is a good central location for travelling. It has a good butcher, takeaways and mini-supermarkets. We enjoyed Sunday lunch in the dog-friendly bar at The Mellon, on the road to Omagh.

We had trouble finding the address, as that quoted did not exist on the map. We parked and walked about, found the pretty little cottage and the better entry. Fine.
The cottage is a lovely old two bedroom cottage located on a quiet and private road above the river.
It is a walk into the main street for food and entertainment. The kitchen was functional. The bathroom was luxurious.
The outdoor setting overlooked the river and the countryside
A good base to travel about theSperri s and central Ireland / Northern Ireland.

Great location, a short walk into town and nice views of the river. I had to work so really appreciated the reliable wifi, very warm and cosy. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough to use the patio. Beware low doorways and bedroom ceilings if you're tall, not a problem for me and my partner has just about regained consciousness from all his head banging!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is on a tiny road that can be easily missed first time getting to - but makes for a really quiet setting. The cottage was just as pictured and there's a large field on the other side of the river which made for nice walks (the bridge is just a 15 minute walk away)

This lovely little cottage is an ideal location for exploring the Sperrins Scenic Routes, of which there are four. The cottage itself had everything we needed for self-catering. The deck, table and chairs on the riverbank were very much appreciated on hot September evenings.
The only criticism I have ( and it is not a criticism of the cottage), there are no street names to point you in the right direction, so even though we knew more or less where we were going, we overshot the turnoff. GPS is your friend in this situation.

Really enjoyed our stay, the cottage is beautiful, very comfortable. Beds are amazing, great couple of nights sleep for everyone. Shower is great, greay power. Kitchen was bigger than I thought it would be amd view out kitchen window stunning. Being able to connect netflix and prime was a bonus. Safe parking to side of property, big enough for 2 large cars. Great chippy in the town, just 5 min walk. Really enjoyed it.

Was disappointed in the condition of the yard. The grass was so tall in the back they we could not enjoy sitting outside. The house feels as though it is located in an alley. The beds were very comfortable:)

Shocked
Shocked
Altho we thought the cottage its self was nice and the hosts seemed nice altho didn't meet which was grand, arrived to cottage heating was on and we lit the fire all good, started looking about we were ready to load the car and home due to the filth of the place (we have pics to back this up), doors were filthy, cupboard doors filthy, crumbs in cupboards, even crumbs over the toaster. Ended up going to Asda in Strabane to buy towels throws, forks and glasses, got a chinese asked for extra tubs to eat from sorry guys wasn't for us and I really hate leaving reviews

I brought my 8yr old son and my 2 small dogs to the cottage. It was the first time I had taken my dogs to stay anywhere and it was perfect for them. We were blessed with the most amazing weather and took full advantage of the cottages picnic area, having a bbq each night we were there and made great use of the river beside us. We had the most wonderful little get away and the only downside was that I wish it had of been for longer as 2 nights just flew by. We loved every minute of it and the fact there is no WiFi was a positive as it meant that my son and I spent so much quality time together. Thank you

Great Holiday Location
Great Holiday Location
My son and I recently planned a trip to Ireland with the intent of meeting/visiting with family as well as enjoying the beauty of the country. My son made all the arrangements to include our stay at the Hallow Cottage. I had seen pictures of the cottage prior to our arrival so I was very excited. While the pictures were great, they only told half of the story. The cottage was absolutely perfect. It was very clean and very cozy. It felt like we were “at home”. It had all the amenities you could possibly need. The view from the back was spectacular. The little town down the street was warm and welcoming. Our stay at the cottage was one of the many highlights of our trip. I highly recommend staying at the Hallow Cottage if you have the opportunity.

Very nice place near the river
Very nice place near the river
We booked the cottage just before Debbie T from Colorado told her review and I worried about the house. But for us (me, my husband and 2 friends of us), it was almost perfect. The heating was not a problem in june (we had much sun all the week !°), even if it's noisy when you are outside, you have to stop it., by night, we made fire in the fireplace, but we didn't need 3 hours of heating per day. Everybody knows, you need heating in North Ireland in February... and even a little in june !
I don't know if there were more cars in february, but for us it wasn't noisy at all : the main road is far from the house. The river is really just below the house : the vision is magical from the terrace ! What i could say it's that I thought the house was in the countryside and in fact it is in the village. But, after all, it was better for shopping and pint of Guinness in Conway's bar, where everybody is so nice.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is well located to go to giant causeway, Donegal, Londonderry, Belfast....
Please excuse my bad english

We booked this cottage while in Republic of Ireland, about 3 weeks prior to arrival. The description said the cottage was on a "quiet lane". It was actually in an alley, which was just below a major street into the town, so there was plenty of road noise. We were there in February, so it was winter and fairly cold. The listing said nothing about paying extra for heat. But when I asked the owner, after booking and paying for the property, I was told that it did have a coal burning stove, and included would be 3 hours of heat per day. After that, we could pay 1 GBP per HOUR for heat! The cottage, although updated, was "stone cold" while we were there. Three hours of heat did essentially nothing to help the conditions. The extra charge for heat (which was not told to us until we had already committed/paid in full) was a ridiculous amount, and should have been told upfront. Out of six cottages we stayed at on our trip, this was the most expensive and the least enjoyed.

Sehr gemütliches, liebevoll eingerichtetes Häuschen an einem ruhigen und dennoch gut zu erreichenden Standort. Der Garten und die Aussicht auf den Fluss sind traumhaft! Sehr zu empfehlen!,,,
