Pump House Apartments

The apartment was cleaned and decorated to a high standard. The building was quiet and easy to locate. We enjoyed having a lovely relaxing apartment to return to after exploring the city. I would recommend Pump House apartments to anyone I knew who was visiting Derry - it's in a fantastic location and the fact that Pump St is pedestrianised is even better.

Location was central but didn't feel too close to bars and clubs probably as it was close to the shopping centre. Apartment was well equipped with lots of things to make our stay more comfortable. It was spacious, clean with good decor. It was really easy to find and access. Hosts were informative and quick to respond.

All the properties in that area are all single glazed making it not the quietest, the back room may have been quieter as away from the street. Having said that we did sleep well enough as during night not many people go past that street. The main bed could do with a new mattress although still comfy enough for a good sleep.

Central location within walking distance of bars, restaurants & shops. Really well equipped kitchen, nice decor & spotlessly clean

The twin beds were not very comfortable & the bathroom was very tight but the main bedroom was lovely & the en-suite was spacious

Property was extremely clean and the location was fabulous.

It felt like big brother was watching you. I emailed querying if I could possibly bring my miniature Yorkshire terrier as I wasn’t decided whether to bring her or not. I was told that this would be an extra £10 per night on top of the handsome sum of £400 for the accommodation due to “additional cleaning”. Yorkshire terriers are hypoallergenic but I didn’t make a fuss. Literally not even an hour after arrival I get an email from the owners of the property saying that they seen that we had got in ok and that I had decided to bring my Yorkshire and again asking me to leave an additional £20 for the “extra cleaning” . Obviously I realise that property owners have CCTV but it made us all feel really uncomfortable about being watched. And to be told AGAIN about this additional £20. The following morning I got an email just reminding us that check out the following morning was 11am (a bit like- here’s your coat what’s your hurry). And that if we were leaving any earlier to let the owners know (no pressure at all guys). In the email we were also asked to do the dishes! We would have done them anyhow but did think it was a bit cheeky being asked to do so. The main problem was the feeling of constantly being monitored and watched. You go away for a couple of nights to relax, not to get constant reminders about an additional £20 for a 2lbs dog that doesn’t shed and is fully housetrained, also emails telling us “I see you have arrived” … creepy! and telling you when you are due out after the very first night staying there and clean the place before you leave. For this reason I won’t stay again
