Character, comfort and convenience.
I can’t criticise it. I have stayed before, on both occasions it has been excellent.

Only one shower & difficult to use. Decor dull, dated and a bit shabby. Bed linen and towels creased and well used. Certainly not 4 * standard.

Great location, quiet but close to most things inside the city walls. The cottage is very cute and well decorated. The rooms are comfortable and it's very nice to have both bathrooms.
Small details would make it closer to perfect -- the clothes rack was missing and for folks not used to plumbing in the UK directions on the shower would be good.

We thought the location was great. We ranged in age from 65 to 82 and managed the hills OK to get from the bus station to our accommodation. We were close to the City Walls, restaurants, shopping, etc. Cottage amenities allowed us to do laundry and we were able to make breakfast each morning and play cards in the evenings. A nice quiet retreat in central Derry.
We should have read the description better - it has 2 bedrooms but only one of the bathrooms has a shower - the 2nd has a tub. Also the 2nd bedroom is on the 3rd floor. It worked out OK but may not be easy for some to get luggage up 3 flights of stairs. It did not take away from our stay at Erin Cottage.

Location was outstanding. Quiet street and in the heart of the walled city. Owner was very responsive and offered to get our laundry done and came to fix toilet next morning.
Master bed mattress was extremely uncomfortable but bedding/pillows were decent quality, washing machine and toilet broken upon arrival, couch looked dirty, no coffee/tea, only 3 forks.

A lovely place to stay, right in the heart of Derry. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. David was a great host and very helpful.
Parking is a little tricky, but follow David’s instructions to find the local car park around the corner.

A quirky but really interesting period property, beautifully situated. I really loved staying here.
I can’t criticise this property. It exceeded expectations.

The location was great and within the walls. Easy to walk everywhere to tourist attractions. The house was warm and clean. access was easy via a key pad. Parking was a struggle but possible on the next street. This was expected due to the central location within the walls. Communication with the host was really easy. The beds were really comfortable. The rooms were quiet and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would love to stay again and would recommend it to friends.
A small half pint of milk as a welcome pack in the fridge would have been helpful but this is a tiny point. Just because I had a long walk to Marks and Spencer to try and find milk and I struggle to walk far.

The location was very good. Bathroom on both floors. We had access to house earlier than stated which was good as we arrived early & it was pouring down.
When we arrived the house was freezing & smelled of damp. We had to keep our coats & scarfs on for the remainder of first day & part of next day. The house eventually warmed up but the damp smell remained. Noisy delivery vans parked at our front door from 7am.

Very central location beside all the shops and eateries. Lovely building architecturally.
Slight odour from the linen/soft furnishings through disuse (we visited during the colder months of the year - might be a better idea making the beds/dropping these off on the day, when the heating will be on) but only a very minor piece of feedback.

The accommodation was perfect for our needs couldn't have had a better location. David was on hand whenever we needed him. The facilities in the cottage were great every small detail thought of. The comfiest bed ever so cosy. Thank you for a great trip we will definitely be back
Didn't impact our stay but was a bit dusty and peanuts and used contact lenses found on floor. House had a damp dusky smell when first going in but went away once heating had been on

Location was brilliant, we where able to park the car up for the both days we where there and just move around on foot. 3 out of the 4 of us thought the beds where very comfy, not much noise from the road. You will get a few (Derry Girl's fans) outside taken photos 🤣🤣 (didn't bother us) We found it amusing. The 2 x bathrooms where good top floor one could benefit from a shower. Heating, hot water, wifi, T.V. in bedrooms as well as the living room. all working well.
It could have been cleaner, I had to clean the fridge before we put our snacks/drinks etc inside.
The oven we did not need to use but thank goodness as it also needed a clean.
In short great place that would benefit from a good clean.
A damp smell down stairs but it is an old building, maybe a few candles or smileys around might help.

Our second visit to Erin Cottage, and it won't be our last. It's the perfect size for our family, 2 bedrooms - sleeps 5, 2 bathrooms - 1 with shower & 1 with bath, towels, hand wash and toilet rolls supplied, kitchen well supplied and stocked, living room, small but perfectly formed, with many board games, much to my children's delight. Perfect location, 2 min walk to the shopping centre, 2 min walk to the walls and round the corner from lots of lovely restaurants with amazing views of the church opposite.

Loved the location, the view of the cathedral and the decor. Really attractive and nicely presented property! Loved the open fire, the wide staircases and the loft bedroom! All beautiful!
The sitting area is tiled which looks gorgeous but it makes the downstairs freezing cold. As this is the sitting room it feels cold and not cosy. We worked round it though - myself and my daughter bought slippers and we lit the fire and put the heating on full. The heating on its own struggles to heat downstairs but is massively efficient in the rest of the house! Would suggest adding an extra radiator under the window so the air can circulate. Would also suggest insulating the sitting area or at least providing a huge rug. I don't blame the owners for wanting to leave the tiles because it really is a beautiful house but come prepared! The rugs were appreciated!
