Disappointing
Location
Alot. We arrived at the designated check-in time of 3pm. The "concierge" was 30 min late to deliver the keys. Yet we were constantly contacted to confirm when we would be at the apartment to receive the keys. No information shared about facilities available i.e. the safe or location of the swimming pool. The apartment was not clean. Dirty mats in the bathroom. Couch with stains. Dirty dishes in the kitchen cupboards. Lack of sufficient drinking glasses. No dishwasher as advertised. No toiletries were available as advertised. We received a teaspoon of soap in a bottle ( all other soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles empty) and 1 toilet roll for 3 days. Dirty mop and broom left on the balcony. Uncomfortable couch and bed. Broken fan shoved in cupboard. Maintenance in an out to change light bulbs, open safe and fix broken plug in bathroom sink. We paid half the rate for an apartment we stayed in the year before, which was cleaner and better equipped, with much better facilities, good location and a sea view. Definitely not good value for money.

Poor maintenance
The location is amazing, but that’s about it.
The check-in process was frustrating. We were not informed that someone would be meeting us at the apartment, nor that the keys would not simply be available at reception. Additionally, the entrance was not actually on Main Road as expected, but rather around the corner—something that was not communicated in advance. Clearer instructions would have made for a much smoother arrival.
Inside the apartment, several maintenance and cleanliness issues stood out. Multiple light bulbs were not working, making the already dim space feel even darker. The main bedroom door would not close, the second bathroom sink was blocked, and the front door handle was loose and in poor condition. Housekeeping also left much to be desired—the carpets were not thoroughly cleaned, and we even found an old tissue behind the bedside cabinet from a previous guest. The balcony, rather than being a pleasant outdoor space, was used to store cleaning equipment (brooms, mops, buckets), and there were no chairs for the table, making it unusable.
To address some of these issues, we called the managing agent to request repairs. While they did send someone to fix the bedroom door, unfortunately, by the following day, it was back to its old shenanigans, proving the repair was not a lasting solution.
Additionally, small but important details were overlooked. The internet was unreliable and kept dropping, which was frustrating. A couple of dishwasher tablets would have been a simple yet thoughtful addition to make our stay more convenient.
For the price paid, we expected a far higher standard of maintenance, cleanliness, and service.

Odyssey facility is great, but not Room 802 by Propr
Location is very good, security and safety on point and nice swimming pool.
I paid and booked a property with an aircon because it is summer. Air-condition is broken, no prior mention of it. When reported aircon is not working, reply was sorry aircon broken unrepairible will give me 5 % refund, did not even get that. Was the warmest I every experience Cape Town. Did not sleep, and not even fans supplied to accommodate us. Property degraded very bad in one years time. Burn marks on carpet, curtains hanging of rails, and lots of small stuff. Could not exit property on our own because the remote did not work. We were told to check in 15:30 half an hour later than we supposed to, got stuck in traffic and got at property after 16:00 and clearners was still in room. My worst stay ever at an accommodation, and I almost paid R17000. What a waist of money. The heat was killing us.

A deplorable disregard for guests!!
Property Managers Propr displayed a horrendous lack of pride & care in hosting us as guests when they presented the unit we rented for our Dec holiday.
We walked in to drapes that were hanging off the rails and would not close, an AC in total malfunction, kitchen cupboard hinges broken and carpets threadbare with scorching damages. They even had the audacity to send in electrical contractors to undertake major maintenance work during the guests paid time while staying there! It was sweltering hot with morning sun searing in by 6am, and no protection from the heat. The sliding doors sticking in the rails, could not be opened on the evenings with gale force winds rocking the 8th floor — unpleasant sweltering sleep - an absolute disaster and Not an enjoyable or relaxing holiday by any stretch!
And made all the worse by the utter disregard and sketchy responses given by their team. The faulty AC was an existing issue- as indicated by their Checkin Manager Prince - before they rented it to us and took full payment upfront. This reeks of scammers and I would recommend NOT to book them. It beggars belief that they were unaware of the terribly neglected shoddy state of this unit before checking us in (1. their exit cleaners would have notified about the curtains and 2. That they didn’t offer an alternate room or even bring over a fan in the suffocating heat! )

We love everything about the apartment and location. Only the property agent attitude is not good.
I did not like that when I did the booking it said it's included cleaning however it did not and when I advise the property agent they admitted the mistake made by Booking.com however careless at rectifying the matter for me as a client as it was not my mistake and not within my control but was an issue between Booking.com and property agents.
I do not think I was supposed to be affected by that and if the property agent do take care of their clients and professional consider client right when purchasing their products they could have given us a good customer service and compromise as they admitted themselves that the booking misleaded us then to give an I don't care attitude.
The property agent needs to learn to take care and value of clients and create a good relationship then just show careless.

Booking works through a company called Propr. They and the building staff dont communicate and we must fight there battles. It is a nightmare to fetch the keys, because you dont fetch the keys at the property and in my case 4 days later they are looking for the keys? And I left the keys where they instructed me. So facility is nice but the admin is a nightmare

Great location
The check in process was poor. After confirming arrival time, the agent only sent through the details via email for key collection at a different location once we had arrived at the property.
There was no remote so we couldn’t park under cover.
There was no handbook in the home which was referred to.
The TV had a broken cable which had apparently been reported a month ago but still wasn’t repaired or seen to in the week we were there.
There is no one to speak to on the phone and you are diverted to a call centre or receive an email from a different person each time.
There are no battery lights or candles to use when there is load shedding at night so you have to rely on your cellphone.
The main bedroom wardrobes are cluttered with household goods which we needed to move around in order to hang clothes.
The Propr agent really needs to attend to these matters as they are quick in requesting information and payments up front from the guest and issuing rules.

Only received detail about key collection 1 day prior to arrival. Lock boxes were 2 km away and in a not so safe area, dark and no one around. email about key collections should be at least 1 week in advance. we already traveled and did not receive the email about that timeously. ALso very noisy balcony. can t sit there.

Tv isn’t working ( no DStv or smart Tv ) C’mon this is 2021 , how can an apartment use a Tv for decoration purpose and not to watch any channel or do anything with the Tv, what a boring stay and my kids complained for days
