Great View, but would bring my own bedding.

You cannot ask for a better view! Really great! Friendly staff.

There was no extra bedding. The bed cushions are really poor! They are super thin and even when you put two on top of each other it still was flat. And then the other person had to use the sofa cushion to sleep on. No extra blankets either. There was no milk for coffee in the morning.

House is in what seems to be a less safe part of town. Gate does not close on its own in that is concerning for the location of the property. Dit not feel at ease in the property.

THE BEST PLACE EVER at Hout Bay, should be named THE BAD PLACE EVER! That is in our experience.

The manager, Gabriel was friendly and the view at night was nice.

The host, ALEXANDRA, living oversea, did not communicate with us at all. Did not answer the phone or emails. The place at BEST PLACE EVER, HOUT BAY, is very small, no fan, no bedside tables with lights and NO place to wash your dishes. One must wash the dishes at the bathroom!!!! The showerhead is very low, my husband, not very tall, need to bend to get under the showerhead. We stayed only one night, because the door to the outside can ALSO not be closed properly. You CAN'T lock it, and THE BEST PLACE EVER is VERY near to a SCATTER-CAMP. It is not safe at all!!!! We canceled our stay on the same night that we arrived, the 24 Feb and did not receive any refund at all. Alexandra informed us that she can only refund us if they can find someone else to stay at the dates we canceled, which THEY did. But no refund at all, she is supposed to give booking.com the green light and she did NOT!!!! We are very gross and frustrated. Booking.com is not that helpful either. We could not leave Hout Bay early enough the next morning. The Best Place Ever is not a good reflection on Hout Bay.

Beautiful sights, lots of walking, getting to know people

the place has a beautiful view, it is equipped with a good security system, the apartment is very nice and aesthetically pleasing. the host was responsive and helpful.

Despite the beautiful view, the place is hard to reach without having a car, also it was sometimes hard to get an uber out of there. It would have been nice if the kitchen equipment included a small stove and a sponge and dishwashing soap (maybe a small kitchen for all guests would have been a solution?). also an additional, or slightly larger cushion would be welcome (this may be a personal preference)

Hi, i do not recommend this place as it is in a township (rural area) If you know South Africa, we already sleep with an eye open. driving to the place where you have to sleep and seeing a man piss d!@k open facing the street is not cool!! and raises allot of alarms, The host can be honest on what a dodgy location the accommodation is. The host is uncontactable. and she has a bull@ no refund policy. don't book here

A good place with a great view

The place has a spectacular view. Alexandra, the host, was not there, but she has organized everything to make sure we have the experience. She left a letter with all the instructions and recommendations of activities and places to visit. We followed it and indeed had a great experience.

Although there is a lot of security, i did not feel 100% safe in the area.

There was no where to wash dishes except bathroom. Bad parking arrangement. Mama Africa room was definitely not self catering. No communication to management was available.

location can get you very nervous. even Uber driver was nervous driving in. complicated manner of accessing gate to open and disabling alarm despite instructions alarm still went off. rude neighbours who complained that I’d set off alarm despite it being my first time there.

Alexandra the hostess was phenominal and very accommodating. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the decor is stunning. With the fishing village near by on a hill side it makes you feel as though you are in Rio! Very safe there and lovely.

Exceptional

We were treated to a breathtaking view of the harbour and mountain. This is the best view you'll find in Hout Bay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven and plenty of cuttlery. The beds were clean and comfortable. There's ample parking available behind a security gate. Definitely worth a visit!

Best place ever is an understatement! The views were fantastic,the apartment itself was fabulous with so much attention to detail! The locals are very friendly and helpful ! Honestly the best place we have stayed at in Cape Town thus far! There is a cute shopping complex 5 minutes from property for all your necessities or if you want to go for lunch

To get property you drive through a area called Habour which is extremely rough ,this place is in Habour heights and not Houtbay hotel district as advertised. Outside ligting at night on property was switched off and made the stay daunting.
