Location perfect for us .This stay was for a naval passing out parade at hm s Raleigh , however also perfect for enjoying Dartmoor and also the nearby reservoir . Ideal for a summer trip .
Bar is good with friendly staff and locals.
Evening menu was fairly limited but We were all very happy with choices and quality of food .
The breakfast menu was a thing of beauty , the full English was worth getting out of bed for!
Rooms spacious enough, not flashy but very cosy .
Our bed was so comfortable and large enough for me at 6'5'' plus wife .
On the landing were decanters of whisky and sherry for a nightcap.
Nice touch although we didn't partake .
Parking very good
Just a couple of potential hazards , firstly in the main bar there are two tables in an alcove , there is a fairly high step leading in from the bar .
I think going back into the bar could be a hazard especially for a fool like me with a few pints inside of me , forgot the step and stumbled down , almost fell could have been nasty but as I said I maybe am just daft .
Also up stairs there is a banister rail that is coming away from the wall and if depending on a bit of support walking upstairs could cause problems .
Small observations and made no difference to our lovely stay

I was brought up in the area and regularly return to spemd time with friends and a family member. I got the room on an offer and it was excellent value, with a big comfortable room and bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent - eggs cooked to prefection.
There were a couple of tiny spaces in the room and bathroom which were a bit dusty - but that dodn't bother me. Neither did it bother me that the hallway was a bit drafty/chilly.

Because I was early I was asked for cash to avoid an early check-in fee, which I paid, unfortunately I
did not get a receipt and a second charge was also made on my credit card, I paid twice, the Burrater Inn
and booking.com would not arrange a refund.
Also there was no TV and no toilet paper in the room.

We stayed early December and the Inn had such a lovely Christmassy & welcoming atmosphere. The landlord was exceptional. We didn’t eat dinner but the menu looked wonderful.

A cosy comfortable Inn in a beautiful location not far from Tavistock. Good breakfast, with a large car park. We have stayed at this venue at least 5 times as family are near and the venue and room is excellent.
Nothing to dislike.

Comfortable, clean room with no noise from the bar below. The food was excellent, as was the beer. Staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient.

Lovely welcome and a good warm fire downstairs. Excellent breakfast, great location.
The room was a bit cold. But very cosy in bed. The heater wasn’t working correctly, but I still had an excellent time.

Good breakfast. Appreciated the fresh milk being available for use in the room (and the port night cap as well!)
Don't like wet rooms. Would prefer a normal shower/bathroom.

The choices for breakfast were good and the food was excellent.
Do not eat as much as I used to but the cook provided extra as he did not want us to be hungry. Cannot praise this attitude enough and the service provided was second to none.
There was nothing that we did not like at the Burrator Inn and would not only stay here again but recommend it to friends.

The bedroom was very comfortable and quiet with a very comfy bed so we had a good nights sleep. The food was really tasty and so all round a very pleasant stay.

The Burrator Inn is in a lovely location, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern. We had a good cooked breakfast every morning which set us up for the rest of the day. The car park is huge so there is never any issue with parking at any time. This was our third visit to this accommodation and we will be returning again for a couple of days early December to visit family.
Nothing to dislike.

Lovely pub with nice room. The food was fantastic, worth visiting for that alone. The room was a great size and good facilities. The landlords and staff were very warm and welcoming.

Good location for Dartmoor and surrounding area.
The room was a very good size and comfortable with a nice bathroom.
A nice touch was milk in a fridge on the landing for tea and coffee in your room (instead of UHT milk in the little pots that squirt everywhere when you open them). Also, a night cap if required.
The Inn itself had nice seating areas and plenty of room in both bar and restaurant.
Board games/cards are provided for rainy days.
Our stay was on a Sunday and we enjoyed an excellent roast. There was also a good menu to choose from if that wasn’t your thing.
The breakfast menu was great too and very enjoyable.
We had a lovely stay and would certainly do so again if we were in the area.
The inn is very dog friendly, with a dog/cycle wash in the car park if required.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay and our expectations were exceeded, thank you.

Staff really pleasant,location.
Room dated, needs refurbishment, mould on net curtains and window frames, wet room not clean, and mirror over basin waist height for some reason.
Sunday lunch average, one piece of meat and shallow veg dishes not worth the money.
Breakfast poor, eggs bacon, and sausage undercooked,no toast offered, coffee awful.

Location only. Stayed for a family wedding elsewhere
Check in was a disaster. We stood around at the bar with our suitcases and wedding apparel for at least 10 minutes before any of the staff decided to greet us and check us in.
Room 2 stank of fish. The only window in the bedroom ( which could not be closed because there was no handle on it) overlooked the roof on the kitchen and the kitchen extractors vented directly into the room making the air in the room unhygienic. The don't disturb notice was tatty and stained
The plaster on the celing of the bedroom was cracked and falling off. The paint on the bedroom wall was stained with filth. The bathoom had mould around the window and on the shower screen. The toilet was filthy. Toilet roll holder was falling off the wall
Breakfast was requested at 08:30 ( as per hotel protocol) on the day of departure because we needed an early start to get away, yet there was nobody present when we arrived. Despite our order being put in the day before, we were only served at 08:45.
Staff was young and poorly trained ( and not interested in serving!)

Super dog friendly. Nothing was too much trouble with the staff. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast both delicious. Would thoroughly recommend here if you are travelling with a dog
Bathroom could have been cleaner. WiFi not working but didn’t affect our stay

Breakfasts were good, in both what was available and how it was cooked
The evening meal we had was quick in arriving, well cooked and very nice
The main bar area and outdoor facilities and would suit most guests.
The potential for charging an electric vehicle is a plus, something rarely seen
The state of windows in the guests rooms, demonstrated they have condensation issues, which has led to mould being present around and on near netting. Obscured glass in bathrooms also shown signs of mould in the cavities of this type of pane.
The shower glass's bath seal showed signs of mould.
Cleaning of the bathroom mirror had not been done when we were shown to room.
Didn't appreciate the leak through the cracked ceiling from the non-guest room above, which meant we changed rooms

The staff were so welcoming and relaxed. The attention to detail, down to the night cap on top of the fridge with spare milk, was a loverly touch. The room was amazing and cosy. It was mine and my partners first time staying there. I've always wanted to stay there and now we will be doing it again. I spend alot of time in dartmoor this is the perfect location for a stay with your loved one.
I didn't like the fact that I only stayed 1 night haha really wish id booked a few more nights.

Good sized room, well appointed, good quality bedding, nice touches of fresh milk provision for tea and coffee making, decent coffee (not instant).
Great breakfast, good choices available.
It would have been nice if the TV had been connected to the internet for Freeview channels to be available.

The breakfast is larger than I would normally have but it was delicious! If I were to suggest an improvement it would be that they serve porridge which was not on the menu.
Nothing to report per say, WIFI in areas of the restaurant none-existent but I can cope with that, I enjoyed the silence!

The food was very good. It was lovely to see fresh flowers on the tables. Staff were helpful and friendly. Loved the free nightcaps and fresh milk in fridge.
Little space to hang towels or place washbags in bathroom.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Very good-sized room. Quiet location very handy for the moors.
Whilst the cooked breakfasts were very good (exceptional even), there was very little provision for customers just wanting a continental style breakfast.

Breakfast was lovely
Room and bathroom very clean as was the public areas
Location was good for us as we wanted to walk around Burrator reservoir
Had a lovely few days away
Also I left my phone charger behind which they very kindly sent on to me
Unfortunately we went at a very hot time and the room was not very big and very hot, however they already had a fan in the room which did help, and we appreciate you can’t help the weather
Would have preferred proper toast at breakfast!
