Very convenient for the town. Rooms are warm, bedding clean.
Parking is very difficult. The rooms are not large and overcrowded with bric-à-brac cushions etc. sharing bathrooms is not ideal. The bathroom is short on space with plants etc
The owners are so defensive in receiving any negative feedback and a reluctance to accept a customers honest perception of their experience I have reevaluated my rating to 4. Clearly as far as they are concerned all customers are wrong!

Booked 1 night initially and loved it that much. we stayed an extra night !
Beautifully quirky and homely.
We were made to feel welcome and at home.
Both Iain and Jack couldn't have done more to welcome us into their beautiful home and make our stay special !
Beautiful locally sourced , shampoos , fragrances, and moisturisers supplied in the room.
The house , room. , lounge all smelt absolutely amazing.
Honestly, one of a kind stay wouldn't hesitate to stay again or at another of Iain and Jack's properties.
This is how air bnb should be truly magic. Personal and bespoke experience , not just an average hotel / bnb chain !
Highly recommend without question !!
Thank you both !

No breakfast available, however, I knew that to be the case on booking and the establishment is only a few minutes walk from Cafe's, bars and restaurants. The guest rooms, together with the communal accommodation benefited from a unique style and ambiance creating a sence of comfort, calm and tranquility.
Our room was exceedingly warm all night with no apparent opening windows for ventilation.

Totally and utterly blown away by how fabulous this hotel was. The hosts were friendly and gave us some great tips on where to go and what to do. If your looking for a wow factor hotel this place certainly had it and more....

The owners are welcoming, helpful and easy to contact. There are beautiful and thoughtful touches throughout the property. I asked for an extra towel and was given one with no hassle. The owners also kindly took in a package for me ahead of my arrival. There are tea, coffee and caramel wafers in the rooms.
The level of cleanliness was fastidious and much appreciated.
The property is easy to find and very much in the centre of Tavistock.
The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful.
A lot of properties claim to be boutique but I think One Drake Road is the real deal.
Parking is limited. There are some parking spaces next to the property but these are street parking open to all and you’ll need to move your car by 10am. There are local car parks within a 10min walk but they have similar restrictions. They do have the option of paying for parking by app tho, so it’s possible to park for free overnight and wake up early enough to pay for morning parking then go back to sleep. I did manage to park close to the property on most nights of my stay.
The owner likes to play classical music in shared areas during the day, especially when guests are due to arrive. It’s a sweet affectation and many people will love this, but I experience some degree of misophonia. If you have similar issues then you may not appreciate the music. Having said that I am sure that if I had spoke to the owner they would have negotiated a solution with me. I was out the majority of the day so it caused me minimal discomfort.

Location was perfect for us as we were attending an event at the Bedford hotel. rooms smelt amazing, very clean, tidy and great decoration.

Beautifully decorated- the owners had considered every detail.
There’s nothing I didn’t like. I personally didn’t meet the staff due to the nature of their check in system and as we didn’t have breakfast. I believe they greeted our friends when they arrived though.

Excellent position for town centre, many takeaways chippy etc just around the corner
No onsight parking managed to park outside on road after working day had finished otherwise its a 10-15 minute walk across town centre from public car park

The property was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. The location was close to the centre of town. The hosts Iain and Jack were very friendly and helpful and resolved a small issue we had promptly. The room had a lovely ambience, we arrived to classic fm on in the room. There were numerous quality toiletries available to use. There is a stunning drawing room where you can sit and relax or read. Good base for exploring Dartmoor.

The breakfast was tasty. We were made welcome with flowers in the room and Classic FM on the radio!

This was the most relaxing and wonderful few days in as many years as I can remember.
The lads were so attentive and helpful.
The drawing room a haven with a beer and a book.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine and the bed so very comfortable.
No stone was left unturned, with a pletherer of creams, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and potions. A tea and coffee station was wonderful.
But the decor of this home was just perfect.
A perfect stay- and amazing value.
There was NOTHING not to like

Iain and Jack were the absolute stars of One Drake Road, and everything was extraordinary, so that’s saying a lot.
They are jovial and warm, welcoming and familiar and they gave us the best advice for every facet of our stay. They are the Devon and Cornwall tour guides that we didn’t expect, but certainly needed and we are SO grateful. Every time we would leave or arrive, the boys would pop their heads out of the front door to make sure we were sorted. This is the kind of service you could only expect from the best 5 star hotels.
The property was also INCREDIBLE. We didn’t want to leave. It was clean and comfortable and homely, the boys have done an exceptional job on the design. It feels like home, but better decorated. The toiletries were out of this world. I didn’t need to wash my hair, but I did, because smelling like geranium felt like an opportunity I shouldn’t miss out on.
We cannot wait to come back.

The house was furnished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location was very central, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The owners were very friendly, apart from the incident below!
There was an uncomfortable moment when I opened the sash window in the room. It was very heavy, and could have injured me had I not been very careful. Only later did I see the sign advising guests not to open the window.

Breakfast was good value, sausage muffin and crispy bacon muffin delicious. Free to come and go as we pleased. Treated as family, nothing too much trouble. Being able to have use of drawing room was bonus, encouraged to invite our friends in for coffee.
Car parking near the house is a problem. I'm struggling to find anything else we didn't like. Oh it rained every day.

We received a super welcome from Ian and Jack. The history of the house is fascinating, making the stay that bit more special. We were in the apartment where the fragrant welcome strikes you as you enter. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, retaining a rustic charm inkeeping with the period of the house. The small 'kitchen area' is all you need, great fridge too. We were able to use the living room upstairs, so felt as if we were more than just guests. Ian and Jack are the consumate hosts, with nothing being too much to ask. If you're staying in Tavistock, this is the place to stay.
Parking was hit and miss outside the house, but we were fine with that as there are cheap carparks nearby. We did park the car in the available spaces between 16:00 and 10:00.
