Beautiful property in the ideal Tavistock location

Apple Tree Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful property in an ideal location, close to Tavistock Wharf (the reason for my stay) and the town centre. Room One was gorgeous, beautifully decorated, and featured a really comfortable bed. There is a table and chairs in the window, and the delicious breakfast was brought to our room. Andy was a great host.

The hotel was spotless. The room was also spotless, beautiful, well supplied and nicely set up. The bed itself was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and answered my questions quickly and with all the needed information. The whole stay was also very flexible with time which was perfect for my schedule. Wonderful hosts and beautiful Inn but a few issues

The bed was very comfortable. The B&B is within easy walking distance to the town center. Breakfast was delicious and served to our room. Guest parking for 4 vehicles was provided behind the B&B. Andy, the host, was extremely helpful. He carried our bags up the stairs to the top of the B&B to our room.

We stayed in Room 4. The shower in our detached bathroom was unusable. It was tiny with sliding solid doors and a large rain shower head. The valves were not labeled and the water first came out cold but then turned scalding hot and remained scalding hot regardless of the position of the valve. There was no way to stand aside of the water stream in the shower because it was so small and you could not stand outside the shower and test the water with your hand because of the solid sliding doors. There was parking for 4 vehicles behind the B&B but a BMW was parked taking up 2 spots leaving no room to park as the other 2 spots were taken when we arrived. The B&B faces the main road through town and we could hear the traffic noise even through the closed windows. The Bed & Breakfast charges you separately 10 pounds per person for breakfast if you booked with Booking.com. Never seen a B&B with separate charges for breakfast. It should just be called Bed.

It was a very pleasant and stylish B&B and all I needed for a comfortable stay

This was a stylish B&B with tasteful decor and a perfect room. I had a single room which was spacious with a small but perfectly formed shower room. A continental gluten free breakfast was brought to my room which felt like a luxury. If only I had this at home.

A lovely, character-filled B&B in a great location

Beautifully decorated spacious room with high ceiling in a beautiful Victorian house. It was a walking distance to Tavistock town centre. Lovely view of the park and tennis club out of the window. Lara who was looking after the property in absence of the owners were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Gala room(No4) and the shower room wasn't en-suite. It was across the landing and there is level difference between the room, hallway and the shower room. That caused us some inconvenience. Cleaning could have been better. On day 2, when we returned to the room late afternoon, the toilet had soiled water and on day 3, the shower tray wasn't cleaned properly. Being a Bank Holiday weekend, we paid £150/night for the room plus £20 extra for breakfast. I'm not sure if we got a good value for money.

Absolutely perfect, I want to move in permantly

This place is amazing, I had high hopes from seeing the photos but the reality was even better still. From the moment you arrive, it feels welcoming. The entire place is clean, fresh, beautifully decorated and maintained exceptionally well. I had a single room (room 3) and it was fabulous, the attention to detail was wonderful. I had everything I needed and more in the room. Breakfast was brilliant and fantastic value for money. The bedding was luxurious, and the bed very very comfortable, it really was hard to get out ha ha!! The shower was better than mine at home! The owners were away for the weekend and the 2 ladies who were running it were so warm welcoming and really lovely!! I had forgotten a charger and mentioned that, and one was swiftly delivered to my room to borrow as it was the ladies own personal one. Honestly so pleased to have found this little gem. Do book, you will not be disappointed!!

Room was classed as de luxe but bathroom is private but not en suite, across landing. Room was on top floor up many steps which was not a problem for us but may be for others.

A lovely place to stay with the exception of the bed!

An extremely friendly welcome. The room was beautifully clean and decorated very stylishly. Tea and coffee and bathroom were excellent too.

Although the bedding was crisp and good quality the mattress did not sit properly on the divan, but sloped at one side. I tried to adjust it, but throughout the night it was shifting slightly and that did not result in a good night's sleep.

I was irritated to find that there was an extra charge for breakfast because we had booked with booking.com. £10 per person per day is an unpleasant surprise and certainly adds to the cost.
