Great place and people let down by the bedroom and temperature

Location, staff. Food.

We paid for a superior room as didn’t want dog friendly. The room was an adapted room, which we didn’t need. It was cold on arrival and took at least 3 hrs to warm up. The separate loo had no heating at all which made a night time visit extremely unpleasant. It was very clean but lacked any decoration or personality, only 1 bedside table no bedside lights, no pictures on the walls etc it was functional. Breakfast room was very cold the next morning to, everyone staying was sat in their coats or big jumpers.

Peaceful & cosy country inn, great food & warm welcome

It’s a beautiful building and the owners have made it a warm and welcoming place. There’s a bar area with huge real fire and a separate dining room with log burner. There’s food is of a high standard and much is locally sourced. They also have a cafe and gift shop at one end which serves drinks, sweet treats and has a fabulous selection of gifts. The rooms are spacious and adequately furnished, individual heater was helpful and the bed was super comfy. All the staff were friendly and hospitable, and Kim went out of her way for me delivering my goodies bought in the shop to my home in Northumberland. I really cannot fault this charming country pub, it ticks all the boxes and if you’re looking for a peaceful and cosy place to stay whilst exploring the area, this should suit you perfectly. Please note: it is isolated and there are limited taxis so if you need one book ahead. It was ideal for me as I was attending a memoir course at Arvon Totleigh Barton and wanted peace & quiet to write before I joined the group. Spent a very productive four nights at the Half Moon Inn.

As a sufferer of back pain. I found the bed very uncomfortable.

Enjoyable, breakfast was very good & staff very friendly.

Comfortable friendly Inn. Room very nice, comfortable & en suite facilities are good. Heating came on at 4pm so room quite cold when we arrived. Pub where we also had dinner was cool but throws provided. Bean stew was a disappointing as not many beans & a small scoop of mash. Husband’s pie meal was good. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend but take warm indoor clothes in winter.

The room was spacious, extremely clean with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming, professional & helpful. The food was fantastic! So well cooked, hot and tasty. It was one of the best places we’ve stayed in for a long time. The attention to detail was outstanding.

A lovely country location, ideal for exploring the local area and down into Cornwall.

A lovely quiet location for the August bank holiday weekend, I had the last room available on the night which was the one for people with disabilities in a block beside the main building which didn't bother me at all. It was spotless. Comfy bed and a nice spacious room were much appreciated after a longer than expected drive that day. I was just in time to order a meal which was tasty. I explored a bit the next day, deciding to go to Trevonne beach, bit further, but a really lovely beach and back then via Bude for my second night. Parking was on the main square on the 1st night and then in front of my room on the 2nd night - much appreciated as I was able to sort my bags.

I don't really like tinned tomatoes and forgot to say that on the 2nd morning.

Lovely traditional inn set in a village square. Cosy bar and restaurant area Looked like there was lovely additional accommodation around the the back of the inn with gardens. Food was very good and although a bit expensive, was good value

Draught ales probably don’t sell as well as ciders or lagers as both ales I tried were not very fresh. We stayed in a nice en-suite bedroom but the bed was a bit on the small side for me (standard double) albeit comfortable

Perfect break

Beautiful 16th century Inn with cute outbuildings in Sheepwash village - excellent accommodation, food and friendly staff. Breakfast choice was excellent Plenty of walking routes nearby and easy access to the coast and surrounding areas

A Perfect Pub

I was here for one night on business. The evening food was fantastic, I had the Yarg starter and the homemade pie, highly recommend!! The beer was very well kept. The bar area was a delight to sit in, if you like old English pubs then come here. The room was immaculate and very peaceful. Breakfast set me up for the day. The owner and staff were first class. This is how all rural inns should be. I will return.

I loved the quality of the accommodation and pub. The food and breakfast were perfect.

In the part of the hotel that I stayed in, there is a smokers table at the front of the building. With your windows open, the room quickly smelt of smoke, perhaps relocating this would be a significant benefit to customers.

Beautiful setting, lovely old inn that’s been well looked after, great decor and really lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Adam was a delightful man. Food was great.

Small room for the money. Bar was all closed up by 9.30pm on a Saturday evening. Average breakfast, ok if you wanted a full English (Sausages were dreadful) No fruit option & plain yogurt’s

Lovely setting, comfortable room, friendly & efficient staff, fresh milk on request, great pub and food, good breakfast choice.

Minor niggle, the room was vacuumed clean but the wooden floor could do with a mop as we found when we showered our feet.
