It was everything we were hoping for in a stay in the English countryside. Would happily return!
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed delicious meals in the pub restaurant which had a nice atmosphere. I also liked the decor of our room - very considered and homely.
No negative thoughts! We were pleased with every aspect of our stay. We only stayed for one night but it was one of the best places we stayed during our 4 week holiday in the UK.

Glad we chose to stay here, as it ticked all the boxes for us
The Blue Lion was easy to get to, and ideally placed for our particular needs. The room was comfortably spacious and had all that we needed. We had a very hospitable welcome. We had expected that they didn't do breakfast, but they provided a reasonably priced 'do it yourself' option of toast, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. We eat there in the evening, really and enjoyed our meal, and some good local beer. From our perspective this proved a good find.
We ended up going to the front entrance, which didn't look particularly welcoming. We then entered through a rather 'lived in' looking room that didn't give the best of first-impressions of the other facilities. A creaking floorboard in the bathroom, but again, not a major problem.
