We had a wonderful stay and an amazing meal in the evening.. staff are really friendly and welcoming. We have visited a few times now and will carry on going there.

The Weary Friar offers excellent facilities. Wi-Fi appears reliable and the breakfast is very good. The staff are all friendly and attentive. I like the location in the middle of a small village next to the church. They seem to have bell ringing practice on a Tuesday between 8 and 9 in the evenng. Access is by single track lanes in all directions - about 2 miles to the nearest two lane road. Nearby shopping is very limited. Be aware that not all rooms have a good view of the surrounding countrysde. However, I have stayed there twice over five nights and will definitely do so again.

I had an overnight stay at The Weary Friar, following a weekend of golf at St Mellions. I checked in late, as I also visited a friend in Newquay. The staff member was happy to see me, and checked me in swiftly. She explained where my room was, where to have breakfast in the morning, and asked if there was anything I needed. I went to my room, to drop off my bag, and headed back down to the bar for a pint or two. My room was clean, on the large size and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I slept well, and the bed was spot on. Plenty of towels, and the shower was hot and powerful. I went down for breakfast (full English``), which was excellent, quality ingredients cooked perfectly. They had various other options on offer. If I was to say one thing, it would be to have mugs as well as cups...I do like a mug of tea in the morning. Overall, the staff were friendly, and attentive. My room was clean and comfortable, and the food was great, what more can you ask for. This is a lovely village pub, that I feel is value for money.

Lovely pub and great location. Food was very nice, waitresses at dinner and breakfast were lovely and friendly. However, could not get served at the bar as the barmaids were completely ignoring you and serving locals only. we had to go and sit at dinning table to be able to get a drink!!! Booked a superior room with view in countryside but had view on the parking. Sound proof is very poor as we could hear all conversation from the bar whilst in the room then they decided to have a bit of a party and played very loud music. No heating overnight so woke up during the night due to being very cold 🥶. No heating in the bathroom and cold to get ready in the morning. The water wasn't draining from the shower (over bath) and had to run worth of half bath before getting hot water. As the water wasn't draining, it made it a cold shower for feet and eventually warm for body. It's a shame as it's a lovely place which gave us good first impression.
