Location great and budget friendly.

Great location for exploring Dartmoor and a good price for a nights stay. Nice decor and a good sized bedroom.

The staff were unfriendly and not very attentive or welcoming. The price of a glass of white wine was £12.75 which In my opinion was extortionate, I’ve never paid that in London! The bathroom was very dated and my husband being over 6ft couldn’t stand in the shower. My beef madras was also very average- the beef was tough and dry.

Very good breakfast with a good choice of options.

When checking in I had to wait at least 5 minutes for the young girl to acknowledge I was there, I can accept she may of been busy but a simple acknowledgement would have sufficed but instead she ignored me until she had finished. Thank God the rest of the staff had better customer service skills. Room was a little on the small side and felt very cramped. Strangely, when checking in the girl at reception selected a room key but changed for another when she confirmed I had used Booking.Com to book my stay.

We love staying in The White Hart. Staff are so friendly,comfy rooms that are very clean. We have stayed in a variety of rooms and find them all excellent. The breakfast is delicious with a good selection to choose from. If you want to relax or visit the moors this is the place for you!

Fab shower! Room very clean! Pleasant,.relaxing place to stay and eat. Staff were polite.

Too much light from street coming in through the window with curtains shut - ideally need a blackout blind or shutters, both of which would also help reduce the infrequent road noise. Bathroom was spotless but could do with a bit of a refurb which would ideally include replacing the existing fan with a more efficient and quieter model.

gorgeous cosy winter stay

Location was perfect, staff were friendly, breakfast was amazing! Travelled with small dog and there was a lovely dog bed and bowls and treats. Had an amazing dessert in the restaurant too.

Overnight stop before a meeting

The little touches make a difference.....like a proper water glass....not a plastic disposable one.... generous selection of teas (and oat milk) plus homemade shortbread... The site says WiFi in public areas only but it's in the room.... another bonus. It was all really comfortable.....and a great breakfast 🥞

The only negative was the lack of a USB charging point....

Good bar and restaurant, let down by standard of rooms

The bar and restaurant areas were pleasant. Breakfast was very good.

Our four poster double bed was uncomfortable and the room was in need of updating - to a similar standard as the public areas.

Exceeds expectations

Our stay was exceptional. It was our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond in making sure our stay was perfect. We opened our door to find rose petals scattered everywhere, they decorated our table in the restaurant beautifully and they were attentive and friendly. We stayed here last year and loved it which is why we chose it again for our special day and we definitely plan to make it our anniversary location. The hotel is stunning, the room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. The food is incredible and the staff are wonderful. Genuinely can't recommend it highly enough.

Loved the feeling of history, fabulous old coaching inn with plenty of character. Bed in R 12 was huge & softly comfortable. Very warm room & plentiful hot water & great water pressure in bathroom. Nice fluffy towels & heated towel rail which was actually switched on!! Windows do open. Good breakfast & lovely staff.

Bathroom dates from ?1980’s? but I understand that they will update. The shower & tap fittings have been replaced. Bedroom carpet very stained.

The beds were lovely and comfortable nice big bedrooms the lounge bar was lovely.

Welcoming confortable and attractive hotel in a lovely little town.

Excellent breakfast, both the vegetarian and the vegan options we chose. Loved the avocado replacing the eggs for the vegan option. Really nice as well to find a dog bed, drinking bowl, toy and treat in the room when we arrived with our little dog. Nicely refurbished 18th century building and very attractive interior design.
