Everything from reception welcome, to checkout. Exclusive dining was a bonus, the meal excellent.

gorgeous cosy winter stay

Location was perfect, staff were friendly, breakfast was amazing! Travelled with small dog and there was a lovely dog bed and bowls and treats. Had an amazing dessert in the restaurant too.

Overnight stop before a meeting

The little touches make a difference.....like a proper water glass....not a plastic disposable one.... generous selection of teas (and oat milk) plus homemade shortbread... The site says WiFi in public areas only but it's in the room.... another bonus. It was all really comfortable.....and a great breakfast 🥞

The only negative was the lack of a USB charging point....

Good bar and restaurant, let down by standard of rooms

The bar and restaurant areas were pleasant. Breakfast was very good.

Our four poster double bed was uncomfortable and the room was in need of updating - to a similar standard as the public areas.

Exceeds expectations

Our stay was exceptional. It was our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond in making sure our stay was perfect. We opened our door to find rose petals scattered everywhere, they decorated our table in the restaurant beautifully and they were attentive and friendly. We stayed here last year and loved it which is why we chose it again for our special day and we definitely plan to make it our anniversary location. The hotel is stunning, the room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. The food is incredible and the staff are wonderful. Genuinely can't recommend it highly enough.

Comfortable & Welcoming

Loved the feeling of history, fabulous old coaching inn with plenty of character. Bed in R 12 was huge & softly comfortable. Very warm room & plentiful hot water & great water pressure in bathroom. Nice fluffy towels & heated towel rail which was actually switched on!! Windows do open. Good breakfast & lovely staff.

Bathroom dates from ?1980’s? but I understand that they will update. The shower & tap fittings have been replaced. Bedroom carpet very stained.

Lovely hotel poor service on bar and a bad experience with our breakfast.

The beds were lovely and comfortable nice big bedrooms the lounge bar was lovely.

Welcoming confortable and attractive hotel in a lovely little town.

Excellent breakfast, both the vegetarian and the vegan options we chose. Loved the avocado replacing the eggs for the vegan option. Really nice as well to find a dog bed, drinking bowl, toy and treat in the room when we arrived with our little dog. Nicely refurbished 18th century building and very attractive interior design.

The atmosphere was lovely, welcoming, calm, friendly, cosy. The room was small but cosy, clean, warm and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was great, good options for vegans and vegetarians. The locations was great for exploring the moors.

The property is listed as having parking, which is doesn't. However, there is a little car park less than a minute walk away which is cheap at £4.60 per day.

Was lovely,full of character,beautiful colours the decor,shortbread biscuits delicious,choice of tea&coffee,water in a lovely kilner bottle with glasses. Our Cockerpoo Tobie well looked after,they provided him with a bed,treat,tennis ball,his dog bowls,white heart hotel is all dog friendly,staff made a fuss of him.we had our meal here,fish&chips with mushy peas,tartar sauce etc.my husband had a dessert,everything was great.our cooked breakfast was delicious and choice of drinks hot or cold. If you never stayed at white heart hotel before would highly recommend,our first stay here but would stay here again.

A great choice

A great place to stay and explore the town and wider Dartmoor. Comfortable rooms wide choice menu including an impressive breakfast choice. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Have already booked our next stay.

Very nice “old style” hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the complementary home made shortbread was an unusual and welcome treat.The food was also very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

No on-site parking, but there is a nearby public car park which is safe and very reasonably priced.

The staff at the White Hart hotel were helpful and the food was really good. The bed was comfortable and the room (number 1) was a good size.

The windows were a bit tatty and it would benefit from blackout curtains or blinds. Breakfast was from 8 am because of the carnival instead of 7.30 as advertised. We needed to eat earlier.

Didn’t know what to expect as I booked because it was close to where we were playing golf, couldn’t have picked a better

We played golf at Bovey castle and this hotel was perfect for us as it’s just down the Road. Good atmosphere in the bar as we watched the football. The food is amazing quality and good value for money. The waiter and waitress we had for the evening meal were superb at their job. Will definitely stay again.

Fantastic stay.

My friend and I have just returned from a 2 night stay which more than exceeded our expectations. Super friendly helpful staff, amazing quality and choice of breakfast which is included in the price. Great room size and includes homemade shortbread in the room. Lovely pub with outside area and games room. Centrally located for walks around Dartmoor. We would stay again and would highly recommend.
