The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and had great facilities for making our own breakfast/ picnic for the day. It was lovely and warm (much appreciated after a day hiking in the cold, wet and windy conditions.) We were particularly appreciative of the drying room which had been provided. We were able to get our boots and waterproofs dry by the next day, ready for another hike. We also absolutely loved the outdoor facilities, the giant hot tub and the fab modern shower room were such a treat for our sore muscles and we were really impressed with the fully covered outdoor kitchen set up.
The owners have really put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring outdoorsy people are well catered for, I'd definitely recommend this place for hikers, cyclists, runners or just anyone wanting to explore Dartmoor.
The common areas inside the hotel (hallways etc) look a bit tired and could do with a new lick of paint.

Host was friendly and helpful and everything was comfy and clean the kids loved it that much, we had to tell them to calm down all the time lol
