I’ve been to Bali more than 20 times over the years, usually staying around a month each trip, and I can honestly say this has been one of my best experiences. I originally booked for 3 nights but ended up extending for over 2 weeks, and I’ve already booked again for two weeks time. What I liked most was honestly everything. The staff were incredible every single team member was amazing, so friendly and attentive, and they genuinely cared about making my stay comfortable. A special mention to the manager, Pinta, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The accommodation itself was beautifully maintained, peaceful, and designed with such care. I also loved waking up to the sound of the birds every morning it added such a calm, natural feel. Being a little out from the centre of Ubud was actually a highlight too, because it meant I could fully relax without hearing the constant scooter noise. Altogether it was the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and warm hospitality the kind of place that makes you want to keep coming back

Canvas Escape is like a home away from home. All the staffs there are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The requests were all fulfilled without any problem. The room is superb and the bed is comfortable. If you need any transport and tours, it could be arranged as well.

The location is not in Ubud Central but that's the idea of the resort I believe - away from the hustle city life. And that also means that you're closer to the nature, especially at night. Surprisingly that they could provide ear plugs too if needed! It's really thoughtful from them. Breakfast is decent like homecook meal.

I love the place because of its tranquility and its nature vibe. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, that they always ask us about our stay. The breakfast was excellent too. Our stay was a quality and relaxing experience.

The room was very clean, and all the staff were amazing—especially Bu Yuli, thank you so much! The breakfast was pretty good. We were traveling with a baby, and their service was so thoughtful—helping clean the baby’s utensils and even warming up the food we brought, although I asked for it at 10 pm. 🥰🙏🏻

Fantastic place to rest in south Ubud. The team is great and very helpful, thank you 🙏 With a scooter, central Ubud is only 20 min away. The villa and the garden are very clean and confortable, we spent 5 very. Ice days here!!

Breakfast was superb and delicious. It was the kind of breakfast I always like to have. It was prepared well and served on time.

I wish for them to offer more choices in the menu.

Cleaning.

As opposed to other hotels we’ve been, the pictures here elevate the reality for more than what it is - to the point where we booked 2 nights and left the place after 30 minutes, losing our deposit. We weren’t confortable as we expected to be (the room is way smaller than the photos and the bathroom had some smell because of the pipes), and while we could’ve stayed because the staff was really nice, the receptionist was quite condescending and rigid. It was not the vibe for us on vacation and we felt more at peace leaving. It was our only negative experience in Indonesia.

It was very quiet, the garden was amazing. The place was spotless and the staff there were so accommodating and friendly. The highlight was the outdoor tub, from where you could see the stars

If you want to have nice holiday, DO NOT BOOK this hotel! We had to spend 8 days at this property, cause the hotel is not a proper word for it. The rooms are not like on the pictures, there are ants everywhere, lizards, and every other insect you can imagine you can find it in your room. We checked in late in the evening cause it was around 21-22:00, we got our keys and what was waiting for us in our room was an ant farm, we asked in the reception to change our room but apparently it was fully booked so they sprayed the ants with some repellent and left all these dead ants on the floor :) the room was not cleaned and not prepared for someone to stay in there. In the morning we got the breakfast to our room and we had some ants swimming in our lemon ginger tea, so we didn’t touch it. Later the villa manager came to us to check the room, and said that the ants are coming from another hotel so they don’t know if they can do anything about that, and that too bad if we don’t have a photo of ants in our breakfast with the smile on her face. Very rude lady with no respect to the guests. They changed our room after 2 days but we had to resign from breakfast cause apparently they gave us the ,,upgrade”, well not really. We still had lizards, ants and some animal that was leaving big poops everywhere but we didn’t caught it. We decided to complain to booking about all this cause the staff was not taking us seriously. We asked for cancellation the rest of the stay cause that was far from the holidays we imagined. Booking said that hotel denied our request and there’s nothing they can do. So to sum up, they don’t clean, hotel is a old dump which they’re fully aware of and even when u want to just leave and get at least some money back it’s not possible. The worst was manager of the villas just casually asking all the time if we’re finally happy with your stay.

Cleanliness, Air Conditioners were not working properly which they rectified later, very bad smell in washrooms, water flow was very poor.. TV was very difficult to operate.. less breakfast options

It is very noisy, not peaceful at all and not the 'escape' I was after. There is NO soundproofing at all and had a terrible sleep the first night there, so much so that I booked another resort for the rest of my stay in Bali. You can hear: the traffic, neighbours in the villas next to you, the roosters that are never quiet. A staff member suggested I wear ear plugs. Why should I have to when I have come to Bali to relax and escape? I shouldn't have to, nor do I like wearing ear plugs.

Nice if you want a quiet stay.

Amazing stay, great location, lovely staff! Such great value for money - should have 5 star reviews, couldn’t be happier with stay. We went on a day trip in UBUD with Agung Bagus - defo recommend, took us all around Ubud including Monkey Forest, Rice fields, coffee plantation and the waterfall. So glad we chose this place

Staff were helpful even before I arrived at the resort. They responded to emails quickly answering questions and providing information. When I arrived staff exceeded my expectations and made me feel very welome. My villa was comfortable and a good size with everything I needed. Using Whatsapp to contact the reception desk was a nice and convenient touch and made ordering meals very easy. The food was tasty, and potions were generous. The spa on site and swimming pool brings it all together very nicely. Just a short drive to Ubud market so if you can tear yourself away from this resort everything else is quite close.

I would suggest some refubishing of the bathroom area, nothing major, but the shower/toilet area were there only areas that could do with some attention in my opinion. A little more information on what to expect/wear/bring when booking tours at reception would have been helpful. Dark wood villa's are very dark and could do with some additional lighting

Great property! Location is good! Very close to ubud main city like only about 11 mins. Carry a mosquito repellent with you since the property doesnt provide one in the room. Outdoor shower is great.

it’s just me… the chicken talks to each other all day and night … I can’t sleep at all. when I stayed, the rain was pouring so there’s water leak and the pillow was all soaked. staff was nice and agreed to let me check out earlier.

We choose payment in advance before we even come there, when we came they told us that they can’t do that and we need to pay right away before we stay. It was really not professional at all.

Staff were very friendly, whilst the condition of the place was a bit old and needed maintaining, it was quite clean. Was tranquil, a very cozy bed and a really tasty breakfast

The pictures on booking.com make the rooms seem very bright, in reality they are quite dark. The maintenance of the place needs a bit of upkeep. The location isnt the best, but thats ok if you are looking somewhere rural, but considering these points, i do think the price should be about 20% lower to be considered good value

Villa is clean, spacious and beautiful. Day starts well with clean and open bath. Breakfast here is delicious. Hotel provide bike rent facility with additional charge. 5km far from Ubud centre so you can easily reach to Ubud within 10-15min.

You have to provide daily breakfast menu item to hotel person, that is fine but sometimes it feels like a repetitive task if you your stay is for long days You will find many hen and chickens in nearby surrounding who make noise day and night you might feel irritated. For me it was not a problem, it becomes my morning alarm😁
