Canvas Escape Resort

The staff were great and friendly. Loved the resident cat, she was very sweet. Staff were always helpful with queries and rectifying any issues we might have had. Our tour guide Dewa was great and always happy to point us in the less crowded/cheaper direction. Overall great experience.

Very comfortable bed and amazing pillows, everything was clean, the shower especially was one of the best I ever had. I was staying in their newest villa though. The staff were very nice, Yuli in particular was incredible, I have never felt a calmer presence than the one she has!

Don’t expect a tropical view, it was a bit more expensive than I would normally pay for a place with no view. The garden was very basic. I think more tropical plants would make all the difference.

Cleaning.

As opposed to other hotels we’ve been, the pictures here elevate the reality for more than what it is - to the point where we booked 2 nights and left the place after 30 minutes, losing our deposit. We weren’t confortable as we expected to be (the room is way smaller than the photos and the bathroom had some smell because of the pipes), and while we could’ve stayed because the staff was really nice, the receptionist was quite condescending and rigid. It was not the vibe for us on vacation and we felt more at peace leaving. It was our only negative experience in Indonesia.
