I loved the entire experience ❤️
The trail to get to the property was a little scary the first few times on scooter - I can imagine walking may become a hassle as it would be time consuming how ever it all just added to the unique experience
5.0 / 10.0
The breakfast was enjoyable and included several vegetarian and vegan options, which we appreciated. The staff was kind and welcoming. Additionally, the staff provided excellent and efficient laundry service. Though the place was hard to get to for a family of five, the staff made it as easy as possible with the narrow walk that is provided. The brought our belongings up and down during check in and check out. It was nice being close to central Ubud.
The location was more inconvenient than the reviews and description let on. The twenty minute walk through rice fields is also very narrow and poorly lit. My son almost fell into a gutter twice while scooters were passing through. I think this is something western kids might be unfamiliar with so it's more unsafe and unfamiliar for us. The bathrooms could have been cleaner and did not have hot water. Overall, the accommodation is not suitable for every family of five, but certainly could be for some. Because of the open window concept of the eco lodge, there were many mosquitos, and more could have been done to make us comfortable- like repellent. Additionally, the photos shown online were misleading and did not accurately represent the quality of the property.

Very cosy house, perfect to unwind and chill.
20 min walk to go to Ubud centre; you can’t go there by car, so need a scooter or walk. A bit far, but also nice that it is so quiet.

We liked the peaceful vibe around the property. Our kids loved the animals.
We didn’t like the distance between the Villa and main building. The place wasn’t perfectly clean.

It is a great place for families who want to enjoy the genuine Balinese setting of being in the middle of the rice fields, on a farm, nothing too fancy but just enough. The host was super helpful and available for our requests. Thank you again!

Beautifully scenic location and an amazing accommodation. The decor and overall experience was next level. The staff were so friendly and forthcoming with recommendations, we loved the food, swimming and area.

Loved how peaceful it is here, so secluded & you get the real Balinese experience riding down the pathway to find this gem. Absolutely beautiful homes with amazing facilities, delicious organic kitchen & lovely staff. We will be back for longer next time 😌
There isn't any A/C so just make sure you're okay with that & in our joglo the stairs were very steep from the bed upstairs to the bathroom downstairs which made it difficult for my partner who was sick but was fine for me 🙏🏽

The Rice Joglo is a special place in a beautiful area, away from the busy craziness of Ubud center. The staff is extremely friendly and Sonu is managing the place very well. The arrival is special on scooters to the property, great experience.

Located in the middle of Rice fields, The Rice Joglo is a family owned stay home. It is located a bit far from the main road. The cars can reach only till the main road entrance. From there, it's about 20 minutes' walk to the property. The road is for pedestrians and bikes only. Transportation of luggage is by scooters. We stayed in a villa called Firefly. The villa is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main property, which is where the restaurant and pool are located. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. There's a farm attached to the main property with some duck, guinea pigs, goats, and chicken.
Flies in restaurant. The pool is very small.
Though not related to the property, one thing we noticed was the constructions coming up in the area. More and more fields are getting converted to resorts, spas, and restaurants. At this rate, we felt that the Rice fields would disappear in a few years.

The property is beautifully located in the rice fields, about a 20-minute walk from Ubud Palace – which we found perfectly manageable. Our house was spacious but a bit older. Unfortunately, it rained all day during our stay, and we had some water on the ground floor. Still, the staff – especially the manager Sonu – were very friendly and helpful!

Sonu and the team at The Rice Joglos were super friendly, polite, helpful and lovely. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, Sonu helped us with any request we had and we loved being close to Ubud but nestled in the peave and tranquility of the rice fields. We would highly recommend staying at The Rice Joglos and the 3 bedroomed house we took was excellent value for money.
A little building noise from the kitchen extension was a little annoying although any time we asked them to stop (during meals etc) they did immediately and I think this will be very soon finished x

Loved the bathroom opening up into the jungle, being surrounded by lush nature, the delicious breakfast made gluten free each morning, the plunge pool and general decor. Helpful and friendly staff
Unfortunately building work and noise going on by the breakfast area each morning

This is the most stunning little gem in all of Bali, the veggie gardens are gorgeous and all of the room options are absolutely stunning. It’s also located in one of my favourite little parts Bali - perfect for peace and tranquility

This place is truly amazing! Located in the ricefields, but not too far from Ubud!
To get there you have to go in a short path that is only accesible by bike, but the staff will get you help with everything.
The rooms are clean, everything is new and stylish. We had a balcony that pointed to the rice field. It felt like a dream!
The breakfast is the same everyday, fruit bowl, eggs and pancakes but it is delicious.
They also have a little adorable farm!
Our stay was amazing and the staff is so nice! Totally recommend!

Location in the middle of the rice fields, albeit not accessible by car so be ready to walk or take a scooter ride. Gives you all the needed quietness
Our room had an external bathroom overlooking the jungle

Wonderfully unique place to stay with my family. The Dutch Suite was fun and quirky and luxury all at the same time!
The kids loved the animals and nature, and the incredible experience of being right in the rice fields.
The staff were super helpful getting us to and from town whenever we wanted to head out, and the scooter ride was an amazing experience in itself.
Delicious food also made our stay here truly memorable.

Location- on the rice fields, with a beautiful view out of every window. It’s also on the rice fields walking path and a short and gentle walk into on the main town.
Staff- the host was very helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to give us tips for our time in Ubud and the rest of our time in Bali. The chefs and food in general are also really good.
Room- the room was even more beautiful and authentic than the pictures. There were 2 balconies and lots of places inside to read and relax.
The bath plug leaked a bit so it was a bit tricky to have a long bath. This sold be an easy thing for them to fix :)

Amazing experience! Beautiful setting away from the crazy roads!! Accommodation was exceptional and the staff are so friendly and generous. Sonu goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and organised transport and a tour with a brilliant driver/guide. A memorable stay. 10/10

No cars. 10 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Hidden in the rice fields was the funky and fun 'tree house'
I liked the natural noises of frogs, chickens and other birds. The kids didn't like it in the mornings.

Located in beautiful and peaceful rice paddy environment. Villa's spacious and nicely decorated. Food look simple yet very delicious. Staffs ware very attentive and helpful especially Sonu.
Location's a bit away from main street which only accessible on foot or motorbike. It's a wonderful stroll through serene and lovely rice field full of birds though so it's a plus to me. You can also get the chance to see fireflies if you walk the trail at night.
Nothing.

The Rice Joglo is everything I hoped for, expected and more. I stayed 6 nights in the King suite with balcony ... a 2 level bungalow. The facilities were clean, comfortable, beautiful and safe. I felt it easy to let go and relax there. Located in the middle of rice fields and about a 20 minute walk along a narrow path to town, it provided a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The staff was courteous and responsive. Sonu, the manager, is a gem of a human being. He has a natural eye for beauty, design and a huge heart. He cares and it shows. The owner Kristine, who's located off site, is equally attentive, responsive and caring. They make a great team. I highly enjoyed breakfast each morning which included a fresh plate of beautifully presented cut fruit. I was a big fan of their "Mango Tango" yogurt smoothie ... it made a yummy light snack on a number of occasions. And I enjoyed the various dishes I tried off their lunch/dinner menu. I'm such a big fan of the Rice Joglo, I hope to return next Spring.
There's nothing negative I'd want to add to my review.

Quaint & authentic.
It is not clear in the listing that the location is inaccessible by taxi/car - you need to walk or take a scooter 1.5km.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood in front of rice fields. Close to the center of Ubud, about a 15-minute walk along a beautiful path among tropical vegetation. Very helpful staff. I highly recommend. If you need peace and quiet it' a great place for you.
Everything was great.
