Great small hotel on the beach in Abraao

The communication with guests should include information on the position of the hotel. If you have bags you should use the porters at the dock on arrival to help carry your luggage as it is mostly on sand for 800mtrs. Hot water in the shower was rare.

I loved the place! Location was perfect, amazing view and very helpful staff. The room was also very clean. If I ever come back to Ilha Grande, I will choose Pousada Porto Girassol again 😊

Perfect place for our stay, will definitely be back!!

Everything was perfect! From the staff, to the garden, views, location, room, resident cats, just excellent!! We didn’t want to leave! Extra thanks to Lucas for helping us with daily directions.

Beachside pousada with charm and great views

Beautiful little pousada right on the beach in tropical paradise Isla Grande. Fabulous place to stay for a v reasonable price. Staff very friendly and obliging even when we lost one of the keys. Each room has a terrace with a sea view.

Unique in every way - loved it!

Love this place. It’s pretty unique as the only way to get to it is via the beach. We had room 10 which had the most incredible views. Lukas was fab and looked after us. Make sure you pay the guys at the pier to take your luggage there and back as you have to walk through the sea at parts of the beach to get there.

The showers are a bit tricky but we made it work.

Good location and great views of the beach. Staff was very friendly and the WIFI was pretty good. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Would stay here again.

Peaceful and comfortable with super friendly staff

The room was great, very spacious and exactly what we needed. The balcony was superb and was so nice to chill in the evening listening to the waves. The staff were super friendly and helped us with any needs, especially getting back to the port with our suitcases after check out.

There was a bit of noise from a near by bar/hostel but that is hardly their fault.

Beautiful location right on the beach

This hotel is right on the beach - a truly idyllic location! It’s quiet yet still central and close to all the restaurants and shops in Abrao. Just an 8 min walk along the beach from main pier. Might be tricky with a big suitcase though! Water sports are offered right outside for an extra price. The hammocks on the balcony are a lovely touch. Loved staying here

Pleasant Pousada by the seaside

The location a few minutes walk from the main pier in Abraao facing the ocean. Beautiful views from the the terrace. Comfortable king size bed and spacious room. A bit pricey compared to other properties at Ilha Grande but it was worth it.

The view from our room and the location on the beach front was great. I enjoyed the hammock on our balcony area. The breakfast was delicious, especially the mango. Staff all very friendly.

The room never felt very clean due to the sand being brought in from beach. No tap to wash your feet on arrival or door mat to wipe your feet. The bathroom always had a unpleasant smell probably from the drains. One of the windows in our room was boarded up with cardboard. One night when we came home from being out all day, the cleaner had left our window wide open which had let mosquitos in and felt very unsafe with our belongings being left in the room without a safe. The location is not ideal if you have a suitcase as you have to drag it along the beach to get to the property, and it’s right at the end of the beach.

Nice hotel staff and breakfast but rooms and comfort could be better.

The staff was really welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is proposing local homemade cakes.

My door was next to the entrance and to the generator which was really noisy and not really peaceful how I would have expected.

Beautiful island, friendly staff and average accommodation.

Breakfast was nice - home made cakes and fresh orange juice. The scrambled eggs were a hit too.

Air conditioning was very poor, rooms were SO hot!!!!!Hotter than the outside. Also we were unable to open the windows as there were no mosquito nets/protectors. Despite this we got bit quite a few times even with protective spray. No hairdryer in room but when asked I was able to get one. No hot water in the shower. Also note that if you are staying here, you either need to walk the back road/path way (long way) or across the beach but need to cross a small river which you definitely can’t take your luggage through without carrying it (not great if they’re heavy).

Pleasant pousada with frieendly staff but basic rooms

The location: it's by the beach and at the end of the bay, so you are away from the noise. The breakfast was pleasant with homemade cakes. The staff is friendly.

The room is very basic, the air conditiong is very loud. The price all in all is a bit high for what it has to offer.

the location was great and we loved having a balcony with a hammock to look at the views. the breakfast was great and all the staff were really helpful with advising us on the best things to do & booking us a boat tour.

Great place!

We had the room in front of the Pousada so with direct view and access to the beach! That was really special and beautiful.

The only thing was that there was not enough equipment to hang on your wet towels. One or two chairs would also have been convenient.

We had a great stay at Porto Girassol. The pousada is beautifully located, the rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff are also very helpful. Would highly recommend!
