Perfect location and experience of life on Ilha Grande. Rooms were comfortable and definitely worth the little extra for the balcony with sea view.
Starting the day with a relaxed breakfast each morning was perfect, food was good!
No problems with the property but well worth paying the guys at the pier to transport your cases!

Almost nothing. Only une employee, Joicy, has been useful and kind. The distance of the beach avoids the noise.
We chose this pousada expecting a high standard of comfort and service given the price of 1400 R$ per night, but were deeply disappointed. The management try to contact me by wattsup few days before arriving proposing to cancel the booking.com reservation (that in principle was not possible to cancel), but without making an explicit proposal (this communication was on wattsup, not on booking.com, I did not respond).
Finding the property was difficult, the walk exhausting, and the reception experience unwelcoming. Communication was nearly impossible, there was no proper check-in hospitality, and our room was not ready until well after the stated time, without apology or explanation.
The accommodation itself was dark, poorly maintained, and far from the advertised standard. Many things were broken or unsafe, the bed was small, the layout awkward and hazardous, and cleanliness clearly lacking. The terrace offered little privacy or security, and the Wi-Fi did not reach the room.
Noise from nearby staff quarters, lack of privacy, and basic safety issues further reduced any sense of comfort. Breakfast service was disorganized, inflexible, and wasteful, with staff largely unhelpful—except for one attentive employee who stood out positively.
Overall, the pousada suffers from poor management, lack of training, and no attention to detail. This was not a luxury experience in any sense, and we would not return. I complained to the management, they said I am right, it is no their 'standard', but no refund has been offered.

The view from our balcony was absolutely incredible - definitely a highlight of the trip. The beach is so close - after reading a couple of other reviews, I was thinking it might be further away but it pretty much feels beachfront - there's a very short, moderate climb which we didn't find particularly difficult or daunting (we're in our 30s with an average level of fitness). I've been further away from the beach staying in large beachfront hotels so I'm not really sure what a couple of other reviewers were on about. The breakfast was great - super tasty and varied, something for everyone, not just bread! The bed was very comfortable and I liked how immersed we felt in nature. I'd recommend taking the back road to get to the hotel if you have a suitcase/don't want to get your feet wet. There's still a very short walk along the beach but that's the fun of being on a tropical island and it's well worth it for the hotel. It's around 8 minutes walk from the tourist pier if you go the full way along the beach. Staff are very helpful and friendly - thanks for a great stay :)

The location was very good, lots of bars, restaurants right at your door. Very close to the port as well. But quite during night, at the same time. Staff was amazing, we were in contact with Bia and she helped us to pick a marvelous day tour (which is HIGHLY recommend) and was super responsive and just nice person.

We lived everything here, the room was Co for table with an amazing view and quiet location but still close enough to everything in Abraão. The breakfast was wonderful and the afternoon tea was a nice touch. Staff were attentive and kind.

It's a really good place to stay. The rooms are great, and the view is lovely. The place is really quiet so you can enjoy silence and peace.
The breakfast is big; you can have it in the common area or your room.
The tea time is a good addition. You can have a tea or coffee with cookies or cake in the afternoon.
It is a little far from the town. If you have heavy luggage, I recommend paying a carrier or walking through the town to the last exit. Also, avoid walking by the beach.

The view was spectacular, the breakfast was really good, the staff were wonderful. The rooms were clean. Basic but everything we needed and an excellent price. Up a lovely quiet lane but well lit. Easy access to the beach and restaurants but not noisy. Thoroughly recommend it

We had the most amazing view of the sea and mountains, so stunning to wake up to each morning. Breakfast was a great mix of fresh rolls, ham, cheese, fresh fruits, juice, cake , coffee , all eaten on our balcony looking at the fab view.
The staff were all so friendly and happy , a special mention for Bea , who spoke great English and was so kind and helpful , booking boat trips and giving trek and restaurant recommendations. We loved Ilha Grande.

Very nice staff and very nice location - a few steps from the beach. And a beautiful view.
They make coffee how it should be.
On the apartments on the side, they could use curtains that block more the light from the bulbs at night.

Location is near the beach with lovely rooms and a wonderful view from the balcony(the balcony option is well worth it). Wonderful breakfast served in the room/balcony.
The old man from the staff could be nicer sometimes.

The fact that the staff is bringing you the breakfast to your room is quite a comfortable and nice thing that we discovered at our arrival. The proximity with the beach is a positive point as well
1) Broken shower - unfortunately the shower was not working properly and made the exercise longer that expected
2) Our clothes disappeared… probably one of the most surprising experience we ever had in a hotel abroad and especially on a tropical island. Once we repacked our luggage, some clothes were missing - some VERY visible clothes (a flashy orange T-shirt for example…the only thing you see when you open the luggage) - obviously when we asked if they have “found” it. answer was negative. We are not the type of people to accuse without evident proofs but in this case we are 100% sure that we had our belongings when we arrived…

Beautiful views. Great breakfast with accommodating staff. Had shower facilities for after check out which was very handy.
Smell coming from the toilet in one of the bathrooms.

The view from the room is stunning and everything was perfect. It is very clean and, though the room is not very big, it is very convenient. There is a nice balcony from were we had our breakfasts. The breakfast is very good and with a good variety of food. I would definitely go back and recommend
Nothing, we liked everything

The staff was very kind and helpful and the view of the Pousada is amazing
The shower temperature for hot water was a little low, I like to take warmer showers, but this is quite a personal preference and given the hot weather in the island I guess it makes sense.

Great room, clean and private bathroom with good shower. Fantastic breakfast and great views. A little bit off the main path, but quiet and comfortable. They provide showers for after checkout so you can still enjoy the day in the beach.
A small uphill to get to and a little farther from the main street in Abraão. But you get nice views.

The view from the room, the breakfast, the staff, the location
they don’t speak English. The windows were not clean and around the bathroom sink (hairs and insect poo).
Really small details ;)

absolutely fabulous. the view from the room’s balcony (which had a hammock as well as the table and chairs) is unbeatable. and I’ve never had such a huge breakfast - which comes to you in a huge basket and you can eat on your balcony

The view from our balcony was incredible. We booked the double deluxe room and could overlook the bay, watch sunsets and sunrise from bed or balcony, and we even got to see monkeys in the trees! They staff will bring breakfast to the room every morning (just go to reception and ask) so we would enjoy it from our balcony. AC worked great. The staff is very helpful even though we don't speak Portuguese. We emailed ahead of time trying to learn more about speedboat options back to Rio and they provided the schedules for us in advance. They also provided an extra blanket upon request. You are conveniently located on the quieter side of the city, but not too far a walk.
If you have large bags, instead of walking down the whole beach, I recommend you use google maps - follow the dirt road through the city, and then it's a much shorter walk on the sand.
The mini fridge was broken. Just be warned that you do need to walk up hill and up stairs to get to this hotel
