Excellent location. Historic building. Nice owner. Several great hiking trails nearby.

Check in/ check out experience. Poor breakfast with paid coffee (we noticed that at final invoice at check out). Small bathrooms.

Superb

Really beautiful place with stunning view. Great walk around the lake and nice stuff. There wasn't much choice for breakfast, but all the food was of good quality. And also the place is dog friendly :) 100% recommend

The bathroom wasn’t in our room, so when we wanted to go to the bathroom, we had to cross the hall. Also the stuff speaks only German but we were able to communicate through the translator.

It's an old building, so while the bathroom was adequate it was very dated. Shower and toilet in separate en-suite bathroom, but washbasin in the bedroom. Fine for a couple of many years standing, but some might find this a bit uncomfortable.

The location was fantastic. The scenery was spectacular and the accommodation right on the lake. Good parking facility. Breakfast was very good and had great variety. The staff was just generous and so very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay enormously. Many thanks!

Good

A great location! The hotel is located next to the lake, so after breakfast you can directly take a dive. A bus is also stopping about 200 m from the hotel which brings you in about 20 min to the city center. We could not find this bus stop on Google Maps but it is there! The hotel serves great breakfast and you can also have dinner at the hotel. The hotel rooms are really authentic with old furniture, so if you enjoy some history definitely worth a visit.

Since the hotel is so authentic the walls are not too thick and there might be some sounds from the neighbors. Also the room that we booked did not have a bathroom in the room itself. You had to cross the public hallway. Not a problem for us but good to know.

Great location, wonderful host and delicious food. It was a great experiance ❤️ We were welcomed with a glass of processo and a friendly owner. Our room had a nice balony with a beautiful view on a lake and it was furnished with hand painted furnitures ❤️❤️ My dog was very welcome here. 100% reccomend.

Overall pleasant stay

Great location, historic equipment furniture and other decorations in the interiors added to the atmosphere..Friendly staff and good food.

Walls were very thin and you could hear the neighbours and vice versa which was disturbing. Also the bathroom outside the room was not very comfortable.

Nice view

The place is a very nice old building in a valley with terraces overlooking the lake and the surrounding hills. It is close to many hiking trails. Breakfast was plenty and very good with typical Bavarian food.

We were disappointed with the dinner that we expected to be delicious…. But this is of course an optional service and not part if the booking itself.

Cozy Alpine gueshouse by the lake

The guesthouse, a typical Alpine bulding, is located by a picturesque lake Thumsee. The service and food are excellent. Madlbauer is worth recommending to anyone who searches for peaceful surrounding in Bavaria.

My stay in Thumsee.

The breakfast was very good and was enough. The room and private bathroom were cleaned each day and received fresh bath towels as well. The staff were very friendly.

Die Lage war traumhaft.Das Frühstück war soweit okay;aber es hätte abwechslungsreicher sein können.

Die Betten waren sehr weich und haben bei jeder Drehung laut geknarrt.

Das Madlbauer ist sehr ruhig gelegen und wir konnten uns gut erholen.

Die Lage am Thumsee ist perfekt. Der Natursee hat sehr klares Wasser. Die Madlbauer Liegewiese ist sehr gepflegt.

Zum Frühstück hatte nur etwas Kuchen gefehlt.

Wspaniały pobyt, choć krótki, bo na trasie do miejsca docelowego. Wlasciciel dba o gości, bardzo miły i spokojny człowie

Hotel położony w zachwycającym miejscu. W dolinie otoczonej szczytami gór. Przy samym hotelu jezioro Thumsee. W życiu nie widziałam tak czystej, lazurowej wody. Budynek klimatyczny, pokoje także. Restauracja w budynku, miejsca na zewnątrz pozwalają podziwiać przyrodę. Zostaliśmy bardzo miło przywitani.
