We travelled a long day to get to Meteora. This hotel was like an Oasis, after that long trip.

Great STAFF! And Great Restaurant. Room and hotel were just a pleasure to be in. This facility really stands out. The staff helped us find a taxi in the early morning. And, even helped us find our hat, that we left on the tour bus.

Everything fabulous!

Chris greeted us before we stepped in and immediately made us feel home, showing our modern and very comfortable room with beautiful views and the nice balcony. All staff is super friendly and helpful with tips. The place is very well cared for in every detail. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom very clean. For breakfast coffee and juice are served at no extra costs on the ground floor with Greek yogurt, fruits, fresh bread, marmalade and honey and a choice of Greek pastries. He also gave us good tips. For dinner the attached Taverna Gardenia offered excellent food at reasonable prices and I always left with a little gift (a sweet, a bottle of water, an ouzo). Location is quiet (though everything was a little quiet due to low season) and perfect for hiking to the monasteries. Loved every moment of my stay at The Stone Forest and Meteora! and indeed I decided to stay one addtional night.

One needs to wait a little before hot water comes, but this is not an issue. Everything works well.

Charming hotel run by generous hosts.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The room was gorgeous with a view of some of the Meteora monasteries. The staff are amazing! We were greeted by Christo who was helpful, kind and generous. We were given complimentary ouzo after our dinner at the restaurant and we even received a packed breakfast when we had to check out early. We loved our two nights in this hotel.

Perfect location for exploring the Meteora!

I really loved the location in Kastraki and I loved how friendly the staff was. It was a great place to stay while exploring Meteora. I thought the room was very comfortable and it felt like a modern mountain lodge. Recently updated so the furnishings and the decor were very nice.

Exceptional apartment, the best place to explore Meteora. Large room with excellent view, super clean and the most comfortable bed. Close to taverna with very tasty food. Excellent staff. Good breakfast to start the day.

A Fabulous Stay at the Stone Forest!

Everything! Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. We enjoyed talking with Dimitra at breakfast, and learning more about life in Greece. It was a great stay!

At home in the Stone Forest

Our stay at Stone Forest was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, Chris greeted us with such warm hospitality that we instantly felt like we were among family. He genuinely went above and beyond in every way. My mom had forgotten her travel adapter, and without hesitation, he gave her one to keep at no charge. He also kindly allowed us to use the washing machine for free, which was such a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more comfortable. The room itself was spacious, cozy, and very comfortable. The beds were incredibly soft—we slept so well each night. One of our favorite parts was the private balcony with a stunning view; it was the perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. In the evening, we had dinner at Chris’s family restaurant, Taverna Gardenia. We were seated near the fireplace, which created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious and clearly made with care and tradition. We felt so welcomed and looked after the entire time. The next morning, Demetria and Vera greeted us with bright smiles and genuine warmth. Breakfast was simple yet perfect: fresh bread, marmalade and other preserves, and delightful Greek pastries. You could truly taste the love in every bite. All hotels should strive to match this level of hospitality, class, and comfort. Our experience here was unforgettable, and we already find ourselves hoping to return someday. Stone Forest will always hold a special place in our memories.

Friendly staff ; Nice, modern and clean room in the village center, you can walk to the monasteries and they also have a restaurant where the food is good! In the morning you have a small breakfast !

Wonderful stay at the Stone Forest Guesthouse

Nicely designed rooms that had awesome views of Meteora. The hostess was warm and helpful when we arrived. I would recommend their family-run restaurant, right next to the guest house. I ordered the spaghetti/Greek salad, and they even included a complimentary delicious dessert with my meal.

Great location in the small village, very easy to visit Meteora, the young lady gave use a very useful map of all the monasteries. Beautiful property. Plenty of parking. Very easy to find. We had a large room with balconies and beautiful views out to the Meteora was incredible . Room was spotless, comfortable, everything works well. Quiet place. Few stores and restaurants in the village. We ate at the adjoining restaurant, food was very good, staff very nice and fun. Breakfast was very good with homemade jams and excellent Greek yogurt. All staff exceptionally hospitable and friendly. We recommend to everyone Plenty of parking, very welcoming

Great people, clean room.

The service was wonderful and the people were hospitable and friendly. The room was very clean. Everything in the room worked, as expected: showers, power outlets, heating/cooling, faucets, doors, locks, and fridge. The room was rather small, but the bed was quite large and took up a lot of space. This is a property we would gladly revisit.

Great Spot in Meteora!

Really lovely hotel in the smaller village in Meteora. Great for a slightly quieter vibe. The attached restaurant is very good and there is a solid free breakfast as well. The staff were so friendly and always checking in to see how everything was with the stay. Just steps from the trails around the area

A beautiful property with excellent staff who were very welcoming. It is in a great location. The monasteries of Meteora are a must see if visiting and the Stone Forest is a great place to stay when you visit.

We LOVED it here

What an incredible stay! Aside from the beauty of Meteora surrounding you, we absolutely loved our stay here. All the staff are absolutely fantastic- so thankyou for your care, professionalism and humour. It was a great experience and they make you feel special. The room was beautiful too - modern, spacious, great beds and aircon - and that view. We couldn’t fault anything and felt we were surrounded by friends he did as much as they could to enhance your experience. Kastraki is a wonderful village and this is the best place to stay - and T Heir adjoining Gardenia Tavern which completes the whole experience. Thanks so much for- we hope to be back and will definitely recommend to our friends 😊

Ideal place for visiting the monasteries

Spotlessly clean, huge comfortable bed, great shower. Very good location for visiting the monasteries. However the best thing about this place is Christo & his team, we couldn’t have had a warmer welcome, we ate supper there in the evening which was delicious, excellent value & again we were looked after with such friendliness & generosity. We would definitely return.

A great little find! Loved it!

Lovely little hotel with restaurant attached which seems to be very popular. Large portions so be careful what you order! And free little dessert a nice touch. Location couldn't have been better and very easy to go on little walks from here. A few shops on the doorstep but we didn't use them. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very quiet with a nice view of the surrounding landscape despite being quite central. Thoroughly recommended.

Small things really: No tea/ coffee making facilities in room although there is a communal little kitchen area in the breakfast room where you could make tea etc so that was ample. Maybe would have liked fresh low fat milk here but that's a small thing! Fridge in room was too cold and froze everything!

Special stay in a special place

We really appreciated the warm welcome and wonderful staff members and the beautiful views from our balcony. Breakfast was a treat - warm fresh bread, fruit, cheese pastries, yoghurt and honey. The restaurant attached to the guest house was great - once again, greeted like friends, good food and a lively buzz.

A shower curtain or screen would help to contain the water spray. There was an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drains initially, but it seemed to dissipate after a while and with the bathroom window open.

We enjoyed our entire experience at the Stone forest.

We loved everything!! So clean and tidy. Also, very quiet. We were able to play cards in the main area. The breakfast was free and tasty. Our favorite though was the young woman (Viatsia?) who greeted us as we arrived and continued to be a huge help. The adjoining restaurant had delicious food and the staff was jovial and wonderful. All in all a super experience.

We recommend this beautiful guesthouse as a great choice in Kastriki.

Great friendly helpful staff and able to pay cash on arrival. Room was spacious and super clean. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant attached. We enjoyed breakfast in the dining room. Kastriki is a lovely village so close to the Meteora rocks and for extra exploration. The guesthouse is in central area near the taxi stand and shops and restaurants. Our room had a lovely balcony looking out to the Meteora. The staff also were accommodating to store our luggage for a couple of hours while we explored around.

The bed was too soft and not great for the back.

Outstanding location, small boutique hotel and the attention to our comfort was perfect!

The staff was so welcoming and accommodating to our every need. They went way out of their way to make us comfortable. Every request we made was met with a definite desire to make our stay the best ever. Our late lunch at Boutique Gardenia was excellent and exactly what we needed after a long day of touring. I would definitely return to Stone Forest upon return to Meteora.

Everything, the room was nice and spacious, with a cute balcony overlooking the rocks, staff was the nicest! There was good coffee and tea available at all times, and the family's restaurant next doors has delicious Greek food. Great place, would come back for sure!
