Excellent room overlooking Oban Bay

Lovely sizeable room overlooking Oban bay with great bay window to sit at looking over to Kerrera and back towards Oban Ferry Terminal. Good sized bathroom with nice walk in shower plus toiletries provided. Room had a small living area with table & chairs plus a fridge. Nice touch with complimentary Tunnocks tea cakes plus Irn Bru. In addition set of binoculars provided which we made good use of to check out all the nice views from the room.

Comfy bed, great sized room, breakfast items in room were lovely, great wardrobe/cupboard , crisps and mints in reception were a lovely touch, modern decor, great location, parking available.

Wonderful place to stay in Oban!

Clean, cost and great location. Short walk to centre of town. Welcomed with snacks and yogurt, juice and oats in fridge for breakfast. Room had a lovely view of the water and sitting area to watch the ferries go by!

It was a lovely place to stay for 3 nights. Clean and tidy. Bed was comfy. Very welcoming. Oban is a lovely place to visit. You forget all your troubles and enjoy the beautiful scenery. People are friendly. Most enjoyable experience.

Ice bucket wasn't on No one to greet you to say hello (there was a phone number but didnt want to bother anyone). Breakfast facilities were fine (porridge pots, breakfast bars and yogurt) but it would be better to get a cooked breakfast included or partner up with another company/cafe/hotel to go for breakfast.

Fantastic location with the perfect view Room was huge with a super king bed which was so comfortable we had the best sleep in ages Everything was thought of from lovely toiletries to iron and hairdryer Well stocked fridge with yogurt orange juice and water Breakfast bars and porridge pots teas and coffees This suited us much better than a cooked breakfast but there are plenty places nearby for those Oh and some lovely sherry, irn bru and tunnocks teacakes Fantastic people who run it and helpful

We found our room clean, comfortable and furnished with taste and flair.

The property was in an excellent location overlooking the bay and within a short walk of the town centre . Our ground floor room was tastefully decorated with comfortable armchairs in the bay window and a very comfortable bed. Also had good parking. The room was a good size with so many little elegant touches, not least the complimentary sherry!

The best guest house we stayed in on our week long holiday.

The breakfast was totally unexpected, and greatly appreciated as we were running for the ferry in the morning. We also appreciated the other snacks and treats left in the room and around the house. Such wonderful touches. The room and house were clean and well decorated. There were two easy chairs in the room as well as a little table and chairs. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. Everything worked. It really couldn’t have been improved upon.

It couldn’t have been better - the only reason I marked down the staff was because I didn’t meet any of the staff, but that was fine because their non-contact system worked perfectly.

perfect accomodation for a stay in Oban, on the seafront overlooking Oban bay, 10 minute walk into the centre of town, spotlessly clean, tea/coffee and breakfast food,ie, porridge, yogurt, breakfast bars and fruit in room perfect to start the day, great hosts who make sure everything is ok for a perfect stay, definetely a great place to stay in Oban 10/10

Great room, plenty of space, lots of light from windows. The bathroom was well layed out and had plenty of space. The two lounge chairs were comfortable and the sherry was a nice touch.

My son and I loved everything! It was comfortable, quiet, beautiful view, spacious and welcoming. Iona was so helpful and welcoming.

It would be ideal if they served breakfast, since they have the facilites, but it didn't affect how wonderful this place was to stay at.

Even though you had to go out for breakfast, there were lots of places to eat out. The food was amazing,with only a short walk away. Beautiful views you can sit outside and enjoy watching all the different boats go by.,would definitely come back .

Lovely location. Room amazing great bed so comfortable and the view amazing. Nice extra touches snacks , fruit, and a wee dram of Sherry . Breakfast essentials in room juice, porridge, breakfast bars , yogurt . Would recommend to family and friends. We had a lovely stay and will be back thank you

Probably the best Guest House we've stayed at!

Our stay at Mackays was exceptional. The room was spacious with a big, comfortable bed and lovely reclining chairs but the real star was the incredible view we had over Oban bay :) - it was stunning and a highlight of our holiday here! Breakfast isn't served but was substituted by porridge, yoghurt and cereal bars in the room which was absolutely fine and meant we didn't have to rush out looking for breakfast. We used several of the restaurants recommended by Mackays and all were lovely - particularly Ee-Usk. The location is excellent as we were able to walk to Oban distillery, the restaurants and the harbour for boat trips - and Ganavan Sands was beautiful, a short drive away. It was hard to leave, so we had a final coffee on the terrace before letting go! Thank you - will definitely be recommending xx

The hotel had a spacious room with a stunner view through a bay window, a good bed and all you needed.

It may feel a little weird to some never te meet a real person, but for us it was no issue.

MacKays is a comfortable accommodation with a spacious room and lovely view of the water.

We had a huge ground floor room with a nice view and binoculars to watch all the activity on the water. While breakfast wasn't served, our fridge was stocked daily with yoghurt, juice and snacks. Fruit and some other treats were available in the hallway. There was sherry in the room to enjoy in the evening and chairs outside to enjoy the breakfast snacks and an evening drink, with a view. The address is beyond the town centre, which means less noise and traffic.

Great Couple of Day away on West Coast

The room was great and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and toilet / shower really good and clean. The view from bay window watching ferries and boats was relaxing. Was no breakfast, but did leave out selection of snacks which was nice. Adequate parking both front and rear of hotel.

A Super Stay

The room was clean and very comfortable with attention to detail, yogurts in the fridge, an ice maker in the hall and fruit available. The view from the ground floor room was stunning. Outside was a seating area that enabled you to enjoy a drink with a magnificent view over the sea wall. We found the owners very approachable and extremely helpful.

Very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped room. Although they no longer provide a full breakfast, there were plenty of breakfast supplies and other snacks in the room (and in the lobby), which was much appreciated. The location was great - on the waterfront a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre.

The only minor issue we had was a little trouble locking the door to our room some times.
