Beautiful well-equipped cottage in stunning location

The location was beautiful, lovely and peaceful as the castle was closed. The cottage is lovely and comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen. Super helpful estate manager who advised on travel in bad weather and brought us over a missing kitchen implement.

The cottage sleeps 5 adults comfortably but there are only 4 comfortable seats in the lounge area (2 couches) so 1 of us had to sit on a dining chair - it would be ideal to have an armchair in that area though it is a small area so might not be practical. If visiting in summer, be aware that the parking and office for the seal trips is right beside the cottage so that would impact the feeling of privacy.

Fully stocked kitchen with washer/dryer. It’s literally right next to a castle!! The grounds and gardens are beautiful and you can walk them after hours!

A very homey cottage inside the castle!

- The cottage is located inside the Dunvegan Castle and overlooks the castle. You just open the door and can see the castle. After the visitors leave you basically have the whole area to yourself! - The cottage is fully equipped. Kitchen equipment, refrigerator, cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. are all available. - Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. - The property management office is very responsive. Communication was easy. - We really enjoyed the complimentary visit to the castle! The welcome gifts are a very nice gesture too.

- The windows seem to be all sealed (?) We had to open the door for ventilation. Nonetheless we had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage. Would recommend this place 100%.

Excellent and cozy.

Have beautiful natural scenery by the lake. We have been offered to free visit Dunvegan Castle. The host has also offered us a welcoming gift with a bottle of red wine and some short bread. The cottage is cozy and with three bedrooms.

The cleaning is not thorough as we could find some food residual on the floor. Also, the instruction to find the property is quite complicated.

Great location! On the castle property!

Book this place! The cottage is inside the Dunvegan Castle property, when everyone is gone, grab a glass of wine (which they provide) and walk around the gardens, you’ll have them all to yourself. The view from the cottage living is directly at the castle. The kitchen is large and has everything you need. The unit is a three bedroom one bath. You can park right in front of the door.

The only negative was the small bathroom with a phone booth style shower.

Stunning location on shore line with the castle in the background. Great to walk round grounds and walled gardens in the evening. Complimentary entry to Castle was very much appreciated.

Spectacular

The cottage views & location are exceptional. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The castle looming up out of the sea took our breath away on first sight. The gardens are amazing. The seal boat trip was perfect. We had a free entry to the castle & staff were very knowledgeable & helpful. We loved having the castle and grounds to ourselves early morning & night. The Village is about a mile away and has everything you need. Thank you so much for making our visit to my childhood so awesome.

Very quiet at night but could get busy during the day.

It could have done with a good clean. There were smarties scattered under the sofa. The TV remotes didn't work and several lightbulbs were missing or broken. The bathroom was too small for 4 adults and a baby. Bathing baby wasn't easy.

Fun family stay

Enjoyed the property location and the complimentary tickets for the castle, but in particular the access to the gardens at night after public closing of the grounds. It was very peaceful and spent some real quality time with our kids here. The woodland walks are worth trying as there are some quirky activities for the kids hidden here. The cottage was greatly equipped with toiletries and kitchen necessities such as washing up liquid, foil, kitchen roll etc. The cottage garden itself was spacious and overlooks the jetty for the seal trips.

We had an issue with the satellite which took 2 days to resolve and there was a bit of a pest issue with small millipedes. It can be busy out front during the day due to the seal trips so can only really us the back garden privately at this time.

Location impossible to beat. Quiet and a stunning outlook. Loved having access to gardens of the castle. Very clean. Ideal for 2, though advertised for 5.

Property became cold very quickly. Shower room very small. Only Dunvegan gardens were open. If seal boat trips had been going, the area would have been very busy and lose its privacy.

Unglaubliche Lage direkt zwischen Dunvegan Castle und Loch Dunvegan. Viel Platz, 3 Schlafzimmer und super Ausstattung. Nette Aufmerksamkeiten (z.B. handmade short bread, Wein). Freier Zugang zu den Castle Gardens und zum Castle. 15% Rabatt auf die Seal Boat Trips.

Uns hat es nicht gestört aber es gibt nur ein kleines Badezimmer. Mit 5 Personen ein möglicher Engpass.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in dieser wundervollen Location sehr genossen.

Die sehr private Lage direkt am Wasser auf dem Grundstück von Dunvegan Castle machen den Aufenthalt einmalig. Zugang erfolgt über einen Privatweg mit Türcode. Das Gebäude selbst ist schön renoviert, mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt und sauber. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett, gibt gerne Ausflugstipps und hilft schnell wenn es mal ein Problem geben sollte.

Die Küchenschränke wirken etwas billig und für 4 Personen war etwas wenig Geschirr da. Eine zweiter Satz Tassen und Teller wäre schön. Einige Möbel sind auch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
